How is DeSales looking going into 2024?
Respectfully, (and congratulations on the back-to-back state titles!!) NOBODY on this thread cares about how DeSales is going to look going into next year except for the outsider who seems to spend an unhealthy amount of time obsessing about Jeff Rotsky. Ironically, Rotsky spends exactly 0% of his life thinking about this dude. Which to me is funny and makes me laugh. If DeSales starts a thread, I promise I will not post on it.

I've been around Yappi long enough to know that sadly too many threads get hijacked by trolls, preventing us from talking about high school football. Like I said before, free country, open forum, all good.

But, if everyone stays healthy, it should be a fun season for the Vikes. Solid looking schedule, some talented players, all home games right at VASJ and the school is planning some fun events centered around them. Will they compete for a title, who knows?? Only 7 teams get the crown, that's hard to do. But looking at all the crap going on in the world, I'll enjoy every minute of it!

And yes, I hope The Ville stays in D4 and gets another one!!!!:)

GO VIKINGS!!!!!!

Agreed, that’s why I asked them about the school that they support. And thanks, but I have a feeling we’re moving up to D3. It’s going to be an awesome football season in NE Ohio! Good luck to your Vikes!

It really is crazy how obsessed some of these trolls are. Vikings definitely have a lot to look forward to and a lot of that has to do with Rotsky. Full stop. Good luck to you guys this fall

Rumor is Glenville may be D3 also.
If Glen/Ginn Academy maintains a 0 CB for the fourth year in a row (which they will because everything is legit and all their players live in Glenville), they will be dropping to D5, not going up to 3. The actual high school is a ghost town; Ginn Football has more players signing letters of intent than there are male grads at the GHS.

No one will be able to keep up with Glenville in D5, even if they can't land their fourth transfer QB in a row.

If he did it the right, legal, ethical and fair way he’d generate a lot more respect and credit. Fact is though he doesn’t do it those ways. Consider the fact that one of first things he did upon taking the job at Joes was get the school in trouble with OHSAA. He also got himself suspended for multiple games for recruiting violations. If you’re proud of him and the program for this, I think that speaks volumes of your win at any cost attitude.

Im not a Joes fan. Also winning at all cost is way better than going 5-5 and talking down on a program 2 hours away.

BS would insinuate lies. Zero lies detected.

The kid from Clev Heights that transferred to Maple Heights after the kid from Euclid came in and won the job. 😅

Why are you responding to my post? lol

Ashton Pugh?! Jones damn near played more at QB than him. Also what position did he play for Maple his senior year? Remember when you said Bryce West was a Solon kid lol.

One last thing before I let Joes fans have their thread back: its just nice to see you finally off the mat after Alter took Reno out back and yall had more penalty yards than total yards. Im proud of you

COACH, I SAID HE WAS A TRANSFER FROM SOLON. HE WAS.
Bryce played youth ball for Glenville Elite and spent 9th grade at Solon. If someone wants to be technical and in business that isn’t theirs, sure he’s a transfer. I just don’t understand why any of this matters. What will they say now that most of the kids started 9th grade playing for Glenville?

Coach, I understand he was not one of the more than 20 non-Glenville transfers after Corona. I was simply joking that even Glenville kids figure out a way to transfer to Glenville.

Who are some key returning starters from last season that should make an impact for the Vikings? Also, who's gonna be the signal-caller this year? Are they more of a running offense or a passing offense?

Definitely will be run heavy again. Bo Jackson will get most of the carries in the backfield. Brian Kortovich (spelling?) 6’4 senior wideout will be a key target in the passing game. Not sure if Stuebell is returning and if not, who replaces him? Maybe Johnny Viratch (spelling?) maybe under center but lacks size however has a good arm. If Steubell is back, hopefully he learned from his mistakes and found ways to improve his field vision and improved handling of the ball as he lost key fumbles while under center in critical moments last season. Majority of the roster from last year will be back. One big loss was RB Amani Powell who graduates in May. Will be curious who they have in the backfield with Bo taking the handoffs

Why wouldn't Stueball be returning? He is a Senior next year.

I’m factoring in the possibility if he transfers out which is always a possibility, especially in today’s age. Haven’t seen his name mentioned during the offseason much, maybe new position. This is more of a speculation thought at this point. We will know closer to 2-a days.

The other RB is TJ Moore who is very good. He is the one who made all of those tackles on the kickoffs.

He a very gifted talent acquisition specialist but he cannot coach his way out of a paper bag. Think about it, all the talent he has brought in and zero titles to show for it. Right after he left Chanel they got coached up and that same talent won, same thing at Maple.

I won’t post on this subject again until he leaves. When he does though you will be receiving a giant “I tried to tell you”.
Fbrox is 100% on point, saw it first hand at Chanel.

Steuball is a senior and Vuraich is a junior, correct? How did Vuraich do last year in the time he played should Steuball end up transferring. And how did Kortovich do? I remember having seen his name on the basketball roster last season, but my guess is that he is focusing on football for the time being.

Vuraich I think will be a senior this season, is actually a nephew of former players who played for Tom Schoen back in the 00’s. Vuraich is small but has a good arm and faired well against St.V and CCC during those games. Very tough kid as well. kortovich didn’t play basketball this year to focus on football. He’s a solid wideout who can be a big target receiver.

If Tom were coaching this talent they would have had at least one title by now!

Stuball transferred to Euclid. Mooney dropped VASJ in wek 2 ,they are playing a home game against a team from PA. 3rd team to cancel the vikings this year. Vikings will be fine with Johnny as qb1. Hes a leader and the kids respect him. Stuball wanted to be handed the qb job. He didn't want to compete nor did he want to play wide receiver. Wish him the best 37 blocks down the road..

Was Stuball originally from Euclid? What do you attribute the 3 cancellations to?

So many factors to be honest. Distance. Viking were very physically last year and even more physical this year. Schedules for other teams. Who knows. Stuball was there for 3 years. Kid has tons of talent. I'm not that keyboard cowboy that slams other people. But if your SR. QB1 doesn't want competition or transfer positobs well. IMO that's something off the football field. Like I said he didn't want to be in the Village.
