Elder vs. Lakota West

It was something. The ironic part is that if some parent complained about it to the Lakota School board it would be shut down in a heartbeat. The whole district is about avoiding bad publicity.
If I would have known who a board member was I would have said something.

That along with the "broadcaster" (person with a microphone) who kept coming over the Elder side was a little much. The second time he was escorted out by a West Chester Police officer.

Then why would they approve the hire of Bolden? He’s a total clown.

I think he's actually kinda right here. No need to pearl clutch over some lyrics. These kids are listening to this stuff every day already.
Elder’s season ends and the only thing he has to say about the game is the pregame music was bad. And trust me, I’m no fan of it, but there’s a lot more important things to take away from the game.

1 play. He was not in the first drive LW scored a FG. 2 plays if you want to count kickoff team.
Uran did not play the entire first qtr and the first drive to start the second half until George got hurt. I love how OMAR and this HELIX weirdo think they are the entire voice of the Elder football team. Neither know anything about the players, coaches or games. Half the stuff I read is absolutely false.....how do I know this? Because I am at the GAME! Absolutely ridiculous the amount of negative banter that goes on. Anyways a few things. The Panthers are 2 turnovers DEEP in the redzone away from playing Princeton. Ryan extending the ball to the goal line and the interception. Two 4th quarter turnovers....one at the goal line and and an interception from the 8 into the end zone doomed us but it it what it is. Offense was fine. Frustrating but should have had 28 points vs the best defense in the state. Lol.

The Elder defense on the other hand needs to be revisited. Kids playing out of place, the best kids not on the field, that Dante #80 looked like he should have been playing all year. 3 defensive lineman.....come on give me a break. The run killed us all year not the pass. To play a 3 man front you have to have uber exceptional talent at the defensive line or have SUPER STAR linebackers that can not only defeat blocks as they will have lineman coming out to block them but they also have to be able to RUN then TACKLE. The linebackers were good but not able to play in that scheme. Playing running teams you need to cover up as many lineman as possible to eat up blockers and keep your linebackers clean so they can not have to get off blocks and can just run & tackle. This was one of the worst coaching scenarios I have ever seen as far as personnel and scheme is concerned. How do you allow people to just run it down your throat the ENTIRE season? I don't know but something needs to change defensively.

Also how in the hell does a school like Elder have such special teams? The punts Friday night were an embarrassment and frankly has been all year. Other than field goals every specials teams was a disaster. Punters that can't punt, punt returners that never catch a punt (hell call a fair catch and don't let the ball bounce) if you don't have someone that can catch a punt just rush 11 every time and hope for a block. Kick off returns were average other than the terrible play vs St. Eds that probably cost Elder the game in my opinion. Kick offs however did also cost Elder the game. Late in the season the coaches finally realized to just kick the damn ball deep. Lol

Being able to only win 1 out of 3 components in a game is tough. Then if you have a couple turnovers from to much effort like Ryan trying his heart out near the goal lines and you lose the turnover battle you actually go 0-3. This team was a few turnovers, special teams and a terrible defensive scheme from beating Pick North, St. Eds and West. Chatard and Moeller waxed Elder's . Elder kids will always out hustle, out smart and out work most teams but I do believe that this year could have been much better with a few adjustments on the defensive side of the ball and better special teams. That offensive line, Josh's catches and Ryans heart of a lion is definitely gonna be missed. The program needs to do better than what was shown this year in my opinon or Moeller and X will wipe Elder up in the next few years. Coaches need to be able to adjust over the course of a season and defensively I saw little to no adjustments to what other teams were doing to Elder. Thank you Seniors, you all played you absolute hearts out and to the underclassmen get in that weight room, get on that track, get in that buffet line. There is work to do. No excuses. Bottom line it is the jimmy and the joe's not the x's and the o's but damn the scheme does help a lot but we need some kids to step up and become big time players. Go Panthers.

1. Uran was in on the 4th down stop, maybe that was the 2nd qtr? I can admit to being wrong.

2. The Offense is fine, but they need a legit RB. Estep isn’t Brass. In fact, he’s about 3 inches shorter and 50 lbs lighter. And obviously, he’ll grow but he’ll never be Brass’ size.

3. I agree fully about the Defensive scheme. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with execution on field, it’s just difficult to find the right personnel every yr. Those massive NTs don’t grow on trees, and if you don’t have one of them eating up blocks to let the LBs make plays, it puts you at a disadvantage.

4. I agree about STs, but I don’t put the Punting issues on the coaches. They tried 4 difft Punters this year and none of them worked out.

5. I don’t agree about Elder out working/ out hustling. The kids always play hard but that can be said about any of the good programs in the state.

6. it is about the Jimmy & Joes. Elder doesn’t have enough to get over the hump. Like I always say, they’re about 2-3 legit athletes away. They need an all purpose RB, a true X WR that can stretch the field vertically, and a lockdown Corner. And that’s not to say Elder doesn’t have good HS players at those positions, they do. They just don’t have the athleticism to match up with the top tier programs.

All that said, I appreciate your insight. It’s rare to have anyone give an honest assessment of the program without having an agenda.

If you run a version of the 3-4 you must blitz and stunt your lineman to create havoc and make some plays in the backfield. The Panther defense NEVER had many NEGATIVE plays (sacks, tackles for loss). Lining up in a 3-4 and not blitzing or stunting then you are basically catching and linebackers are constantly fighting off blockers before they can even run and make tackles. This is why you saw teams get 3-4 yards a pop and sometimes more every play. St. X, West, Moeller and PN just shoving it down their throats because they knew at worse they were gonna get 3 yds. Its why so many teams went for it on 4th down. Elder had VERY FEW tackles for loss because the LB's are getting hammered. Then you factor in the struggles by all the back 8 to actually MAKE THE TACKLE factors in also. You have to put people in the best position possible and this 3-4 scheme with no blitzing or stunting is tough. Get aggressive once in a while and make the other team adjust. Also if the damn place kicker can do kick offs and fg's that good I am fairly certain he is better than a Freshman or Dugan at kicking the ball. The special teams did suck and it is on the coaches. It was an absolute embarrassment anytime they had to punt, and find someone to catch the damn ball. Call a fair catch but catch the damn ball. Everyone needs to do better these next few years and the Shavers #80 kid needed to play sooner. Also in your predictions for next year you all failed to notice Uran has not played corner since he went to LB vs X so I would not count on him to be a corner even though he is the fastest guy on the team. Team members and coaches are going to need to pick it up for next year because the classes at Moe, X , ED's is stacked and the public schools are improving. The team must get faster, stronger and smarter or it will be a tough season next year. Omar you also need to chill out on your talking and acting like you know absolutely everything and I am so glad that TREY/HELIX is gone. This place is to speak truth but support and encourage these teams. To much constant bashing is not the way. I can tell you for a fact OMAR you turn a few perspective student/athletes from attending Elder. You are actually doing more harm then good. I appreciate the passion but damn dude give somethings a rest and stop speaking on things you have no idea about. Last time I will be critical. It is now time for these boys to grow and put on some muscle and get quicker. Let's all root on the winter sports. Lots of good stuff going on this winter. I know a lot more about the wrestlers than the basketball players but I heard the cagers were good. I know the grapplers are good so get out and support these guys this winter. Go Panthers!

I’m not constantly bashing the players. I’ve never negatively singled out a player. I could never do that, because I was never even good enough to play at Elder. I sucked when I played football in grade school, so I’ll never get on here and say player X, Y, or Z is bad.

I agree with the D not creating many negative plays. I noticed the pass rush wasn’t as effective this season and I believe that’s partially scheme, partially bc neither DEs were fully healthy throughout the season.

I can’t speak on how good the Doogan kid is at kicking off, since they don’t kickoff in freshman games.

Yes. I believe he has input now, but ideally he’d be the full time play caller before being HC
I just don't see that happening with Doug still there. Not that I think it's entirely necessary either. Who calls the plays for JV right now?

IDK, but if Doug wants the transition to be as painless as possible, he needs to progressively give Peyton more input on the play calling.

While I agree with your senitment here, it's not too much to ask for an edited version of a song at a high school sporting event. It's called accountability and no one seems to have any anymore. Sad.
Definitely not too much to ask. No idea if it was or wasn’t edited as I wasn’t there. Odds are it was a mistake if it was unedited, as most ADs vet playlists before letting them run.

It was edited, but not very well. Again, minor issue when talking about the game.

Glad Moeller lost, the GCL Brotherhood is stupid. Hopefully, Springfield beats dirty trash Eds, but they probably won’t. You have to actually be able to do basic math to manage the clock vs Eds. Mo Douglass is an idiot.

Did Moeller let them score and Moe took the bait?
