Austintown-Fitch's Sydnie Watts Stymies Louisville Leopards with Perfect Game

Louisville Leopards couldn't keep up with the Austintown-Fitch Falcons and fell 10-0 on Thursday.

Austintown-Fitch opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two home runs. The Falcons first got on the board when Abby Toth homered to right field, scoring two runs. Ayla Ray homered to center field, scoring two runs in the top of the second for the Falcons.

Kylie Folkwein hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the fifth for the Falcons.

Austintown-Fitch scored three runs in the top of the seventh on a home run to center field by Sydnie Watts after a 8-pitch at-bat.

Watts earned the win for the Falcons. She gave up zero hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking none. Katelyn Miller pitched six and one-third innings in relief for the Louisville Leopards. The reliever surrendered 10 hits and six runs while, striking out three and walking none. Taylor Schneider took the loss for Louisville. She went two-thirds of an inning, surrendering four runs on four hits, striking out none and walking one.

Louisville turned two double plays in the game.

Austintown-Fitch amassed 14 hits in the game. Watts provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Austintown-Fitch Varsity Falcons with three runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-4 on the day. Kaliana Ray and Samantha Severn each collected three hits for the Falcons. Toth, Folkwein, and Morgan Roby each collected multiple hits for Austintown-Fitch. The Falcons didn't commit a single error in the field. Folkwein had the most chances in the field with 12.
