Looks like Ursuline. We shall see.
The best recruited team in the area. Many of them played AAU together all summer. And... Gunther was the coach. I thought they had the best team in the area last year but didn't win the District. I think they walk through the District this year. It will be the Canton Region where we will see how good they really are.

I will say this, they have a beast of a schedule. It should prepare them for what to expect in Canton.

You do know his son played on that team right?

Fully aware- and his son who is really good will be the star of that team for four years. The others that followed who would have been stars at their own high schools will live in his shadow. I am guessing they are ok with that.

Is the Klucinec kid for Ursuline Will Klucinec's son or relative? If so, surprised he's not at Canfield.
It's his son. No idea why he chose Ursuline over Canfield. He might not live in the Canfield School District so one of the private schools might have been his only option.

Here is this week’s Mahoning Matters Super 7 boys’ basketball poll:

1. URSULINE The Youngstown Ursuline Irish lead this week’s initial mahoningmatters.com Super 7 boys’ basketball poll. The Irish are 4-0 on the season and are coming off a 76-57 win over once-beaten Warren Harding. They host Youngstown East Friday.

2. EAST LIVERPOOL East Liverpool, which returns nearly its entire team which reached the Division 2 district final of a year ago, sits at No. 2 in the poll. The Potters, who are quick and athletic and love to shoot the three ball, are averaging 75 points-per-game and allowing just 42.2 ppg. They have a huge game Friday night against Boardman (3-1).

3 .WARREN JFK Warren JFK is 4-0 on the season and coming off a huge 67-52 win over defending state Division I state champion Akron Hoban. The Eagles host the Mogadore Wildcats Friday.

4. YOUNGSTOWN EAST The Youngstown East Golden Bears are 3-1 on the season and are coming off an impressive 75-58 win over the once-beaten Boardman Spartans. The Golden Bears play at Youngstown Ursuline Friday.

5. BOARDMAN The Boardman Spartans are 3-1 on the year, including wins over Lake, Campbell Memorial and Poland on the Bulldogs’ home court last Saturday in the United Way Classic. The Spartans host unbeaten East Liverpool Friday in a huge area showdown.

6. AUSTINTOWN FITCH The Austintown Fitch Falcons are off to a 3-1 start with wins over Massillon Perry, Canton Central Catholic and Cardinal Mooney. Their lone loss was to private school power Linsly (WV). The Falcons travel to Mayfield Friday evening.

7. WARREN HARDING Warren Harding is 2-1 on the season and has defeated Youngstown East and Canton Central Catholic and its lone loss came to unbeaten power Youngstown Ursuline. The Raiders will travel to VASJ Friday night.
