11 of 14 weight classes still in competition for the Comets.
112 - Luria won first 2 lost in quarter finals, still alive, wrestling hard, ran into monster in Campbell from Harrison, has a tough road in what has become a very brutal consolation bracket.
119 - Artip first round bye, won the next 2 is in Semi finals. Tough match vs. Campbell from Anderson, but should make it through to finals. Finals match may be vs. 7th grader from Ryle KY who has just been dominating his side of the bracket.
125 - Gonzales won first 2, lost in quarter finals, still alive, starting to wrestle like the Gonzo of old. If he keeps putting it together he could make the podium, it may take some Murnan magic to get it done.
130 -Gorsek won first 2, lost in quarter finals, still alive, wrestling very well could make some noise today. Beat 2 good kids to start the day. I can see him on the podium.
135 - Mescher won first 2, lost in quarter finals, still alive, wrestling well. Wrestling smart, just came up against a very tough Ty Davis, in 3rd round. Mesch, has shot at making the podium if he stays on track.
140 - Shepherd, 2 pins and a tech fall. He has changed his style, again, not seeing him on his feet much, but tearing people up from the top position.
145 - McIntyre, looking real good, 3 wins and starting to mature into the wrestler that we all knew he could be. Tough match vs. Gifffen of Harrison. Murn has seen a lot of Giffen through the years and if all things come together Mac could be in the finals.
152 - Eoin Walden, won one, lost won then won 2 more in consos. Wrestling very well, except for small blip in second round. He has pulled it together and come back with a vengence in conso's. Depending on which kid shows up, he could be on the podium.
160 - Seuss - won first 2 and lost in quarters, wrestling well, still makes some dangerous mistakes. If he can stay in position, he could continue to advance.
171 - Searer - won first, lost 2nd, won 3rd. Everything clicked in the last period of his last conso match, I think you will see a more confident kid on the mat today.
189 - Porter - won 3, All the pieces are coming together, Porter is wrestling like we all knew he could, haven't seen him look this good in a long time, quick on his feet, powerful on top fighting for every point, he could go all the way, regardless of outcome he is having a great tournament.
Won't be able to up date until after finals today. Final's scheduled for 4 pm at Harrison High School. Come out and support the Comets!

Great day for Mason wrestling!
Luria places 4th battles back nicely, Artrip 2nd, Gonzales 4th, Gorsek injury default but still places 8th - one to watch he is wrestling really well, Mescher places 3rd, really came to play, Shepherd 1st, McIntyre 3rd - great come back from loss in semis, Walden 7th, Porter 1st - looks great!

Mason places 2nd overall behind Elder. Team is coming together nicely, beat Moeller and Lakota West:thumb:

Congrats to the comets on a great tourney...sounds like everything is starting to come together. Good luck to the team as they head up to Medina on the 28th and 29th.

Congrads to the wrestling team's great performance in the tournament!
Keep it up and good luck against Moeller and Lakota West!

Go Comets!!!

Noticed Shepherd was not wrestling in Medina after winning the Coaches, any idea when he might be back? Also is Bovenzi expected back anytime soon? It will be nice to see what this team can do at full strength though plenty of kids have been stepping up.

By the way, 12 out of 14 win their first round matches at the tough MIT already today. Gonzo and Artrip have already won 2nd round matches. Team in currently in 3rd behind St. Eds and Perry.

They just completed the 7th place round and Mason currently is in 3rd place well behind St. Eds and Oak Harbor in Medina.

Artrip and Porter are in the finals. McIntyre places 8th. Luria and Mescher will be wrestling for 5th. Aaron Walden will be going for 3rd. 6 placers in a pretty good showing for the Comets, especially with no Shep. Mason finished 14th last year in this tourney.
