Sounds a lot like West
Correct in so many ways
The DLine has two 4 star recruits and one 2 star recruit (2 likely headed to Michigan and the other to Eastern Michigan)

Graduated is 5 star recruit QB Donte Moore who is currently in a 4 man QB battle at UCLA
To replace him at King there is a battle between incoming freshman Daryl Flemister and senior Canadian transfer Nate Edwards.

So once again X may be facing a team with a freshman QB in their season opener.

The Xenith Prep Kickoff Classic will open at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, with a matchup between Walled Lake Western and Waterford Mott followed by Chippewa Valley vs. West Bloomfield at 7 p.m. On Friday, Aug. 25, a to-be-announced game at 4 p.m. will precede the Belleville and River Rouge matchup in the nightcap at 7 p.m. On the final day on Saturday, Aug. 26, Detroit Cass Tech will open against Southfield A&T at 1 p.m., with Detroit King and St. Xavier (Cincinnati) in the event finale at 4 p.m.

Wondering how many of these guys will play both ways

- MLK is going with the Freshman.
A freshman QB and only 1 returning lineman that I'm aware of.
The Bomber defense gameplan will be the same as last Friday.
The front 6 (Sulfsted, Hammond, Brice, Folke, Beck and Clapper) are formidable.
So is the secondary (Bishop, Weber, O'Malley, Reilly and Strayhorn)
It will be fun watching these 11 pitch shutouts but will cause a boring vanilla ball control offense that we saw for more than half the LW game.

- Steven Napier's status for Saturday is up in the air. Gage Patrick will be out again.
If the 2 seniors are out, the 3 sophomores (Jake Britt, Dan Vollmer and Spencer Stegbauer) can handle the rushing duties

- MLK is going with the Freshman.
He's 5'10" 150lb

The King OLine left to right goes
6'3" 274lb / 6'4" 319lb / 6'3" 318lb / 6'3" 315lb / 6'0" 250lb for an average of 6'3" 295lb

X is gonna have a hard time finding the QB and he's gonna have a hard time seeing downfield.
Gotta feeling he rolls out instead of sits in the pocket lol

The King OLine left to right goes
6'3" 274lb / 6'4" 319lb / 6'3" 318lb / 6'3" 315lb / 6'0" 250lb for an average of 6'3" 295lb
The King DLine left to right goes
6'3" 235lb / 5'11" 270lb / 5'10" 260lb / 6'5" 222lb (Michigan recruits on the ends)

So they're big in the trenches.

Their LBs are good sized too: 6'1" 183lb / 6'3" 211lb / 6'1"227lb

What a great win on the road over a Detroit program who has won 2 state titles recently. I was way off as I thought it would be a tight game but St. X handled them the whole game. Go Bombers!

Offense: Brady Bennett with 6 catches for 110 yards and 3 TDs, Jake Britt and Steven Napier combine for 140 yards rushing and Daniel Vollmer with 68 all purpose yards returning kicks, rushing and receiving.

Defense: Noah Beck and Gus Folke led the way with 8 tackles each and Folke had 3 tackles for loss

Time to head south on the Chattanooga Choo Choo to play a team full of Canadians

Brady Bennett has to be the breakout player of the season so far. Still a lot of games but he has good size, lots of speed, and is showing to be a reliable target. I am pretty sure they had him playing defense the last couple seasons. Probably helps he is a heck of a Lacrosse player as well.

An impressive performance across the board. It can't be easy driving 4 hours, even if it was the night before and I don't know if it was. Then, waiting all day to play. The Bombers look to have a lot of depth.

The Bombers look to have a lot of depth.
They do.
Senior RB Gage Patrick looks to be about 100%
That gives Coverdale 5 capable ball carriers - Napier, Britt, Vollmer, SStegbauer and Patrick - a wide variety of running styles.

After the OLine starters there is Lynch, Veech, Abercrombie and Hammond if needed.

With the emergence of Bennett at WR there is plenty of depth there (McClatchey, Betts, Taylor, Shamsi and Vollmer)

Klare at TE and Gordy if needed.

Backing the DLine starters are Boerger and Hertzman

LBs behind Folke, Beck and Clapper are Seymour, Lehman, Schulte and Hoerst

With the emergence of O'Malley and Reilly there is a lot of depth in the secondary......add Strayhorn, Bishop and Weber and the backups include Reeder, Harris, Soloria, Horton and Kelley
