Some schools have had scrimmages already a few more are having some this week and the summer pre season tournaments start next week. I looked back at my list from last year and as a whole those players were the names most talked about. A few injuries and a few that just didn't have great seasons last year but as a whole the leaders on my list were the biggest impact players . I was interested to see who to watch out for, because 11 of the top 15 were seniors last year. Made sense, but I'm looking for new names this season.

Some light observations. Last year there were 4 players entering the season over 100 points a pretty rare number for players. This year we have 7 over 100 and Erbach is well over 200 points and will very likely end over 300 Points. I cannot think of another single player who has scored 300 points in SW Ohio. AP who is in my mind unarguably the greatest HS player to come out of Cincinnati ended with 285 points the most I can either remember or find. Erbach's 104 goals in 3 years is absolutely prodigious but it shows what a talent we saw from KD at West a few years back with 96 goals in the 2 years she played for a mind blowing average of 2.1 goals a game. Dwarfing Erbach's seemingly unbelievable 1.7 goals a game. Indian Hill's own Anna Podojil the gold standard for Club, H.S. and now collegiate soccer was incredible at 1.4 goals a game. By example #2 on this list Ferris has an average of 1.0 goal a game. Liz Zimmerman of the stud twins from CCDS leads everyone on the list with assists at 41! Erbach is right behind her with 40 and Mouch is 3rd with 38. I enjoy seeing girls with high assist numbers because it speaks to their mindset.

Pennekamp is on pace to break 200 points a feat accomplished by just a handful over the last 15 years since I've been watching. I had totally forgotten till I tallied the results but Miamisburg's Cummings missed her entire Sophomore year and is still 5th on this list, she was GWOC Player of the year both years she played. I'd have to believe she would be solidly in 2nd overall had she played that year.

Last season the top 15 had a bit more selection of clubs, this year it's all OE, KHA and CUP. Last years top 15 had 9 commits, this year has 7, though some may be committed but I just could not find it on google. And broken down further 11 ECNL, 2 GA and 2 National League.

This year has 13 Seniors, last year had 11.
