Current Record of Bomber Opponents: 42-41
Projected Final Record of Bomber Opponents: 50-49

Projected StX Harbin Total: 32.25

Center Grove (9-0) beat Cathedral (8-1) 21-6; next 10/29 6A playoffs vs Franklin (4-5)

Moeller with the OT win over St. Ignatius puts them in position to possibly be the 1 seed in R4
I don't see Moeller winning either of their last 2 games....they will be #3 seed
The winner of the Lakota East-West game gets the #2 seed.

Harbin Region 4 Current Standings for Top 6
StX (7-1) 25.2; St. Ignatius, ELCA.....9-1
Moeller (6-2) 23.7; St. Edward, King (MI)....6-4
Lakota West (6-1) 18.2; Colerain, Lakota East....8-1
Lakota East (7-1) 17.5; Fairfield, Lakota West....8-2
Princeton (7-1) 16.6; Mason, Colerain.......8-2
Milford (5-3) 14.7; Lebanon, West Clermont.....7-3
Harbin Region 4 Current Standings for Top 6 (after Week 9)
Moeller (7-2) 30.2; King (5-1)
StX (7-2) 27.7; ELCA (2-5)
Lakota West (7-1) 23.5; Lakota East (7-2)
Princeton (8-1) 21.4; Colerain (5-4)
Lakota East (7-2) 18.3; Lakota West (7-1)
Milford (5-4) 15.6; West Clermont (2-7)

A StX win over ELCA will give them only 4.0 1st level points since ELCA is considered a D6 equivalent
Only 2 of ELCA's wins are eligible for 2nd level points for 13 points

Of the 8 opponents StX beat, 4 are expected to win in week 10 giving X 26 more 2nd level points.
After calculation that gives X additional 4.33 points added to 27.7 for final total of 32.03.
Only Moeller can finish higher than 32 so this guarantees StX the #2 seed.

Can they overtake Moeller for #1?

Only if Moeller loses to King.....if that happens then would need 2 out of 3 of the following to happen
Hoban to beat St. Eds; Alter to beat Chaminade; Portsmouth to beat Ironton;

Louisville Trinity (3-7) beat Eastern 56-21

St. Ignatius (5-4) Idle
Eagles Landing (4-6) lost to StX 44-14

Final Record of Bomber Opponents: 50-46

Projected StX Harbin Total: 32.25

I wasn't expecting a Colerain win over Princeton but had Colerain made that last second field goal a victory there may have given X just enough Level 2 points to overcome Moeller for the 1 seed.
Thanks for nothing Cards

That would have shaken up the harbin rankings.

Joe Harbin has it #7 Elder vs. #10 Colerain with the winner facing #2 St. Xavier who he has playing #15 Hamilton.

Either way, X gets a familiar playoff opponent in either Elder or Colerain then will likely have to go through Lakota West then Moeller.

Yeah, getting that #1 seed would have made for an easier road to the R4 Final.
If higher seeds win out then.....
For #2 X it's Hamilton-Elder-Lakota West-Moeller
For #1 Moeller it's Oak Hills-Fairfield-Princeton-StX

Don't like Lasalle over Winton Woods, eh?
Well after seeing them lose to X (86 total yards on offense) and then a bad Elder team in week 10 I wrote them off since their problems begin with the QB position. Checking the stats of their last game looks they have chucked the 2 senior QBs they were platooning and switched to a sophomore in week 12.......maybe this is their solution

Senior Cam Cope is the QB. Woods may win, but he'll be fine.

4 of the Bombers 10 opponents are still alive in their playoffs.

I see possibly 3 opponents that may not be on the schedule next year.

1. Colerain. The GMC has arrived at a 9 game schedule so this game is gone.
2. Georgia team. St. X is not going to travel to Georgia and I doubt that they come up to Cincy 2 years in a row.
3. What about Olentangy Liberty? Is that going to happen next year?
4. We have been playing Penn from Indiana for a few years now. How long does that continue?

It will be interesting. Presumably Louisville St. X returns to the schedule next year (should be home) and we will have to at least repay Trinity's trip here in Louisville. Does Cathedral come back? What about the Canadian-byes (I hope not)? I guess we will see...

So is the tradition X/Colerain or Specht/Bolden? I think at this point, it is Specht/Bolden and X and West would maintain a Week 1 game. But maybe not. That would leave La Salle and Colerain as a Week 1 neighborhood rivalry, maybe.

Side note: the 9-week league schedules in the GMC and ECC suck.

Parent told me Specht mentioned they could be going to St Louis next season to play DeSMET or St Louis Univ High School, both are Jesuit schools in the St Louis area

I would think that X/Colerain is over and the X vs LW game would continue in week 1 just as you mentioned. Yes, that would be neat if Colerain played LaSalle in week 1 also. Yes, the new 9 game schedule for the other leagues means that LaSalle vs Winton Woods is over and X versus Colerain is also over. Both X and LaSalle will need to find new opponents.

Since 2004 there have been 6 seasons when the Bombers have defeated multiple eventual state champions.

2006 (2) Covington Catholic Kentucky 3A champs, Cathedral Indiana 4A champs
2007 (3) DeMatha Maryland WCAC champs, Trinity Kentucky 6A champs, Bishop Chatard Indiana 3A champs
2008 (3) Don Bosco New Jersey A non public champs, Prattville Alabama 6A champs, Cathedral Indiana Class 5A champs

2012 (2) Cathedral Indiana 4A champs, Moeller Ohio D1 champs
2014 (2) Cathedral Indiana 5A Champs, LaSalle Ohio D2 Champs

In 2008 the Bombers won only 4 games but 3 were vs that year's state champions: Prattville, Cathedral and Bosco
2 of their losses were to state champions (Trinity and St. Ignatius) and 1 loss to state runner up (Elder)

It was the only season in Coach Specht's 18 year career that the Bombers did not make the D1 playoffs

The defense, led by senior LB Luke Kuechly, was stellar and held teams to 7.3 points
The offense, decimated by injuries, was abysmal.

The 10 opponents combined record was an incredible 104-26 (only LaSalle had a losing record)
5 opponents finished in top 35 in the nation (St. Ignatius #2, Prattville #9, Elder #11, Trinity #17 and Don Bosco 34th)

2008 StX (4-6)
Week 1 Lost to Colerain (11-2) 13-8; Colerain lost to Elder 27-20 in R4 final

Week 5 Lost to Trinity (14-1) 17-6; Trinity beat Simon Kenton 48-0 in Kentucky Class 6A final
Week 6 Lost to Elder (13-2) 33-15; Elder lost to St. Ignatius 28-20 in Ohio D1 final

It was a crazy effing year
