Bearcats 2016-2017

UC just finalized the deal to renovate the Shoe. Enquirer says construction will start in June, so that leaves the question of where UC will play this season, if not at the Shoe. I'm kind of surprised at how little reporting has been done on this expansion deal, tbh

I thought they were pushing out the start of construction until after next season (2016-2017) with a projected finish for the 2018-2019 season.

Looks like they changed it. Glad it's set in stone now. Obvious answer for where they will play is US Bank. I'd be surprised if it were anywhere else.

From that article:

Quote:
Construction at Fifth Third Arena on four new luxury suites above the end-zone seats will begin next month. Major renovation work isn't scheduled to start until next spring after the 2016-17 basketball season ends.
So it sounds like they'll still play at 5/3 next season.

From a basketball standpoint, US Bank sucks azz. The Gardens or even NKU's place would be sweet.

Big 12 meeting in two weeks will be huge. If they do decide to expand there's no way in hell UC gets left out now, which is probably one of the reasons they hurried to finalize this deal.

Oh I definitely don't disagree and if I got to choose it would be the Gardens. But financially, US Bank makes the most sense.

eastside_purple is infamous around these parts
I know I'm in the minority, but I prefer US Bank to the Gardens.

I'm a huge fan of old school arenas/stadiums so I prefer the Gardens personally. It's got tons of character whereas US Bank is your run-of-the-mill generic 70's arena. It does have the far superior location, though.

Starters

PG - Caupain
SG - K. Johnson/Cumberland
SF - Evans
PF - Clark
C - Washington (Transfer from NC State)

This is definitely not going to be a deep team, but the top 6 listed above should be solid
