Massillon vs. Trotwood

This game needs to happen. If only to see what that thread would be like. Maybe the two most polarizing teams in the state. The conversations may implode on themselves and tear a hole in the fabric of the universe. The game might be good, too.

I like it. Maybe if someone would have made this point several months ago, we would have had a week 3 game...

The Paper Tigers won't schedule any team on the field that would beat them they would rather just have a discussion on who would of won the game to assure a victory.

Riiiiight... Because Steubenville, Warren, and Mckinley are nobody teams. Lts tell Fitch, StV, and GlenOak they are nothing more than spot filler doormats too.

Lol, Massillon won't schedule anyone... You're funny.

I dont want to disappoint vamp so I think Trotwood would be the underdog vs. St. V, GO, at Fitch, at Steubenville, at Mckinley, and Massillon home or away. I like the matchup but not too crazy about the distance.

Trotwood doesn't have the balls to schedule the mighty Tigers.

I've always wanted to see Trotwood play some biggies on the other side of the state. But now that I think about it, why? They've won with the schedule they've been dealt and won it all. No need to prove anything more. But I'd still like to see how they match up against those biggies.

I honestly think in 2011 they could have matched up well with just about everyone in the State of Ohio. However, now they seem to be dropping a little bit in talent. They still have a lot of great athletes on their team but numbers are down on their varsity squad and especially on their freshman squad. They have a couple really good athletes on their freshman squad but just not as many.

That's because if you put the word Massillon in a thread, everyone comes out just to see the insanity that follows.

This thread could be called Massillon vs Green Bay Packers and it would probably make it to page 2.

If you can get FairwoodKing to comment, it will probably hit page 10.

M2M can only hope to improve
Not sure we know yet exactly what level MLC, Steuby, Warren and Mck are yet.

Fitch and SVSM are excellent quality opponents. GO is good, not great.

Perry and the Canadians about the same this year.

Wasn't it T-M that ceased plans to play McKinley a few years ago?

Massillon Washington got their butts whooped the last time a team from Dayton went there to play the Paper Tigers. They also got out of a game with Wayne in 99 in order to play Lima Sr as they did not want to go back to back years below .500.

In the first place, Massillon and Lima signed a 4-year deal starting in 1996. 1999 was the last game of that contract. In the second place, Lima made the playoffs 3 of the 4 years of that contract, including a state title. Over the duration of that deal, Lima was a better program than Wayne. Playing Wayne would have been a downgrade. In the third place, Massillon finished 10-0 in the 1999 regular season. One game would not have given them a losing record. In the fourth place, Wayne is, has always been, and will always be inferior to Massillon.

Stick to what you know, whatever that is. It sure isn't facts, analysis, or integrity when discussing football.

Who are we talking about?

Perry, Jackson, or Washington?

As for Washington they would of gotten roasted in 99. If they still had that contract with Lima SR then why would they sign one with Wayne?

Now the Paper Tigers are in D2 maybe they might be able to win a real title...

Trotwood would not be the underdog VS any of the teams mentioned. I think it would be a toss up game. The distance is the distance, its Ohio, its football.

Yeah thats why Trotwood has never played the mighty... Wait Trotwood played at Massilon in 1995, lost the game 35-20, and Trotwood at the time was not the state power they are now. Had Andre Hutson at QB though and it was a pretty entertaining game.

It's your lie. Tell it the way you want to.

As for the facts: Lima was a better program than Wayne during that period. As was Massillon, to be sure. Perhaps tht thought (and quite a reasonable one at that) was that Wayne didn't deserve a game against the Tigers.

What is Wayne's excuse?

Massillon's tradition, history, and accomplishments (both prior to and since the playoffs) far exceed those of Wayne. If and when you make it to the realm of upper-tier programs, perhaps Massillon will look more kindly should you come begging for a game again. Until then, you need Massillon more than Massillon needs you -- else you wouldn't be crying because Massillon allegedly denied you the legitimacy you so clearly crave.

Massillon vs Ursulin
Massillon vs Mooney
Massillon vs Zanesville
Massillon vs Cenerville
Massillon vs Columbus De Sales
Massilon vs Woodland Hills PA
Massillon vs St Clairsville
