I don't know what the schedule is in Northern Ohio but SW Ohio begins tournament play tonight. I'd like to see some results posted on here from all over the state.
@ Lakota East
Colerain vs. Northwest
St. Ursula vs. Western Hills
@ Withrow
Winton Woods vs. Hamilton
Sycamore vs. Withrow
Sorry, this is only Div. 1 but that's what I follow. Please feel free to add all divisions
grad86 ... there are almost 200 that might have some thing to say ... I didn't see yours.
Don't get upset! Was just trying to add some discussion points for DII....Like I said your picks are very solid and are probably the most likely outcome; but, it is always fun to hear what others might think. Since I primarily follow DII I would not want to try to predict the other divisions. Alas, since you asked, my picks would look something like this (with my winners in Red):
D1: MND, Toledo SU, Pickerington North, Walsh
D2: Padua, Wyoming, Lake Catholic, St. Francis DeSales
D3: Miami East, Bloom Carroll, Liberty-Benton, Gilmour
D4: Villa Angela St. Joseph, Newark Catholic, Lehman Catholic, Norwalk St. Paul
And just to put out fair warning.....I never finish in the top 10 of my March Madness picks, so please take these picks for what they're worth....Some uninformed spectator that really does not know much about the game!
thanks grad. too often picks are "picked apart" with no prediction of their own. (see axiom)
I think D II is incredibly close among the top teams ... Padua ... Lake ... Norwalk ... Hartley (if Shonk is available) ... Desales ... Beaumont. Each time they play the winner would be different. The play on that day is all that counts.
Tonight at D2 in Bucyrus; Shelby defeats Mansfield Madison in 5. Last night in Huron; Norwalk defeated Toledo Woodward 25-4, 25-3, 25-1. On Saturday at 6 Norwalk faces upset winner Port Clinton who defeated Oak Harbor.
regardless of the strength ... someone has to come out of that regional. Do you expect them to just forfeit and shut it down, because it doesn't meet your standards?
interesting why you didn't point that out for crashnburn's prediction. It looks like you have a personal beef with Jackson.
Jackson will get there, Solon v Walsh winner also. I know nothing about the NW and Sw teams, except that they are very good. We are now at the time that good teams are getting upset. 16-18 year old girls are very difficult to figure out !!!

They benefit from the weakest District/Regional in D1...so anything less than a trip to Dayton will be a disappointment.
Partial agreement. Their District is much more competitive than other districts here in the NE from top to bottom. However, it's not as strong as others and not as strong as those schools think it is.
Are you stating that the Columbus/SE Regional is weaker than the NE Regional? I say that it's a toss-up between those two.

I had heard that Betts was out for the remainder of the season and Shonk was questionable, hence my pick of Desales.
Like All Good stated, "16-18 year old girls are very difficult to figure out"

It's no surprise NEO D1 vb is perennially not as deep as the Cincy/Toledo areas. MJ may not be in the weakest district per se but being away from Walsh/Solon/Mags/Strongsville is definitely to their advantage.
At that level, all the teams are really good. Coaching will make a difference, but some ladies will be on, some will be off. Pressure starts to build, mostly fun to watch, but being a parent, I think, is tougher than being the player. That's why I enjoy seeing a team win, vs seeing a team lose a game through a bad play, missed serve, something like that. In our house, we have had those tears, and its tough to comfort !

Jackson plays in the District the state has set for them to play in. Axiom did you you voice your concern when the Cincy schools would send teams out of region so they could meet up in Dayton. Do not belittle Jackson because of your opinion of the location of their district. These youngladies bust their butts just like the ones in your neck of the woods and have great coaching as well. So good luck to The Lady Polar Bears!!! Lets Go Bears!!!
An axiom is a premise or starting point of reasoning. As classically conceived, an axiom is a premise so evident as to be accepted as true without controversy. You are creative to have this as your name
Back to the actual topic. 6 of the 8 sectional championships are now set in SW OH. All 6 teams in Dayton are GWOC members including 2 of the 3 matchups with division rivalries. In Cincinnati, of the 14 teams left, we have the top 4 GGCL teams, 4 GMC teams, and 6 from other conferences. Here is how they will play out on Saturday/Monday.
Saturday @ Lakota West
#1 Mt. Notre Dame vs. #19 Glen Este
Monday @ Lakota East
#4 Lakota East vs. #6 St. Ursula (Cincinnati)
#5 McAuley/#17 Little Miami vs. #16 Anderson/#12 Milford
Monday @ Withrow
#3 Lakota West vs. #11 Sycamore
#2 Ursuline/#22 Princeton vs. #10 Loveland/#13 Turpin
Oh, and BTW, MND should win state going away. In their 23 matches, they've only lost 7 sets. While I think TSUA will be their biggest competition, their only loss this year was to Ursuline Academy and UA beat TSUA in straight sets in Toledo. MND beat UA 6 out of 7 sets this year.
