Article: Trenton Edgewood @ Cincinnati Northwest , Week 7
On a night that had an absolutely relentless downpour of rain, Trenton Edgewood traveled down to Cincinnati to play Cincinnati Northwest in what was undoubtedly one of the greatest games fans of both teams have seen in a long time. The Edgewood Cougars saw a long opening drive sputter at the NW 21 yd line. Northwest would respond with a touchdown drive to take a 7-0 lead in the 1st quarter. Northwest would then go up 14-0 on the final play of the 1st. Edge would strike back however with their well-balanced pistol wing-t attack and tie it up at 14 all with 3:54 left in the second quarter.
The Cougars pounded out their first possession of the second half and it paid off with another Edge touchdown. But the Knights came back with a 50+ yard completion that would eventually lead to the equalizing td. Barger carried the Cougar offense to the 4 yard line, but Edge failed to convert a 4th and goal early in the 4th quarter. Jason Phillips received the majority of the carries on a 96 yard, 7 minute drive that was capped off by a Phillips touchdown. The following drive ended for Edgewood with Dominick Williams of Northwest jumping the route and running the interception back for a pick-six to put Northwest up 35-21. The Cougars went on to score again to make it 35-28, but when they were unable to recover the ensuing onside kick, their fates were sealed.
Final score: 35-28 Northwest
