Glen Este is hosting a Military Appreciation night 8/31 vs Lakota West. There will be many festivities leading up to game time including a fly over by a b-25 Bomber. They are selling T-shirts that feature a Camo T with ethier schools logo and a message on the back. T-Shirts are $12 for sizes up 2XL and 15 for 3,4 and 5xl (also not camo sizes go up to 2xl and kelly green for all else). Any orders wanting to be placed need to be done by Monday Aug 27th. Orders can be placed by email, phone or visiting blackout Tees in eastgate mall.

Glen Este High School Hosts Military Appreciation Night - August 31
B-25 Fly Over, Honorary Degree Conferred
CINCINNATI, OH (August 16, 2012) – Glen Este High School will host ‘Military
Appreciation Night’ at the first home football game on Friday, August 31 at 7 p.m.
A ceremony will take place prior to the football game where Tom Thomas, a veteran
of World War II and the Korean War will be awarded an honorary degree from Glen
Este High School’s Superintendent Gary Brooks. Thomas enlisted in the Marine
Corps during his junior year of high school. He came back and earned a GED but
always regretted not receiving a high school diploma. Prior to the Glen Este vs.
Lakota West football game, there will be a B-25 Bomber fly over and State
Representative Danny Bubp will join in the celebration.
“Glen Este High School has a long list of graduates who have honorably served our
country. We want to do something special to honor these men and women in our
community,” said Glen Este Principal John Spieser.
All those with a military ID will be admitted free of charge to the game.

Time: Ceremony will begin promptly at 7 p.m.
7 p.m. – Presentation of the Colors by Color Guard led onto field with William Rouse
playing the bagpipes.
7:05 p.m. - National Anthem performed by the GEHS Marching band.
7:08 p.m. - B-25 Bomber fly over by Tristate Warbird Museum and sponsored by
Blackout Tees - Eastgate Mall
7:10 p.m.- Rep. Danny Bubp will speak about the military experience in regards to
Mr. Tom Thomas.
7:15 p.m. - Dr. Gary Brooks will present Mr. Thomas his honorary Glen Este High
School diploma
7:20 p.m. - Student will read passage honoring veterans and those who made the
ultimate sacrifice. Followed by a 21-Gun Salute, Taps and with Amazing Grace on the
Bagpipes.
7:25 p.m. - Teams will return to the field to start the game.
