CCRunner4815 were you at the match tonight? If you were not here is what happened in North Canton:
Hoover Freshman team won.
The Jackson JV beat Hoover in 2. Jackson had size and Hoover only had 1 tall player So #14. The crowd was not what people thought it would be but that soon changed.
Now it was time to see the Undefeated Jackson Polar Bears vs Hoover. Well from what I see here high atop the gym Jackson looks tall, athletic, and well coached but again this is just warm ups. Typical rival game nerves and TERRIBLE REFS!!!. Yes I was screaming. Game #1 was back and forth until Jackson pulled away. Then Game#2 started. Well one team started Jackson and Hoover lets just say if you would have told me that the score would be 19 to 2. I would have said that's no moon. But it happened and Jackson flex their muscle all over NC. Hoover never recovered and it was over at 8. Jackson is a work in progress moving forward. They are fun to watch both on the floor and off. I can't wait for Hoover to come to Jackson should be fun.
Wow, Jackson wins in three and you still complain about the refs

Since you quoted what I wrote jovs then you must understand that I was painting a complete picture of the evenings events for those who could not attend.
You must have some problems at Canton South to complain about but your AWESOME A.D. Mr. Rick Campbell is not one. By the way he was the former Principal of Jackson.

CC, I think you go looking for trouble where there is none in any post regarding Hoover. I greatly respect your love for girls' hs sports, but that post had nothing wrong with it. One person's opinion about the teams. They gave fair credit to Hoover's frosh team. Obviously they think/hope Jax will win at home when they play again.
Polar Bears remain unbeaten
JACKSON 25-25-25, GLENOAK 19-6-10 The Jackson Polar Bears completed the first round of Federal League play with a three-set win over visiting GlenOak on Thursday. Kristin Cardwell led Jackson with 17 points, four aces and 31 assists. Jen Slogar and Stephanie Spencer controlled the net with 10 kills each, while Paige Hill added four blocks. Rachel Seifert led the Bears’ defense with 14 digs.

McGal,
You obviously did not have a good read on our threads and misinterpreted.
We have been kidding each other and this has all been with a smile...!
No arguments at all. I think that I have been fair, and have given credit to the N Canton teams. They have overcome an injury, to a great player, and have done great, I dont know Coach Mimi Thomas, but I definitely respect everything about her. Her teams hustle, play with class and win. I just think that Jackson has a better program right now. Your frosh team hustled and overcame what I hope is a better Jackson team on an off night. If you do it again, I will be the first to shout out to N Canton.
Good luck to you and the Lady Vikings. Like I posted before, we know that the N Canton girls BB team will be great, and I hope that you go deep in the tournament. I am not a Hoover basher, I am a Federal League supporter.
No one else is really worth talking about in the Fed when it comes to this statement about NE Ohio. But, until Jackson beats Walsh, not a fair statement. Other teams to consider in NE Ohio would include Beaumont, Lake Catholic, Kenston and Solon. Strongsville and Padua are pretty solid, too. I'm not sure that they are in the others' class yet, but they could be when all things are said and done. Kent Roosevelt COULD be in the mix, however some more things have to develop there. But, that's a program on the rise with a good young coach building on the good work of the previous coach.

Kent isnt anywhere close to Jackson. They would be lucky to be a mid level federal league team.
I agree that it will be hard to beat Walsh, they beat us in 4 last year, and have returning talent. I know that setter is incredible, but I like our chances this year, we will know a lot more in 2 + weeks.

If you read my post, I didn't say they were anywhere close to Jackson and said that they had to make strides. There is talent at Kent, the new coach needs to continue to develop it. I believe she is capable of doing so. And, no, Kent isn't as bad as a mid-level Fed team. Try again.
N Canton would drill Kent in 3.............See CC Runner, I have your back !!!
Win in three, yeah maybe. Drill them? Doubt it. Hoover = overrated more often than not. Federal League as a whole = overrated in volleyball statewide. Maybe with Jackson raising the bar, the rest of the league will follow suit. This remains to be seen.

You should like your chances. Jackson has a great team and, when facing Walsh, a distinct coaching advantage.
PERRY 25-25-25, MASSILLON 13-14-18 Perry rolled to a three-set win over Massillon on Monday evening inside the Washington High gymnasium.
The Panthers (6-5) were led by Mallory Vodopich’s 19 points and three aces. Devin Lawrence had a team-best 16 kills for Perry, while Kassidy Whitaker had 16 assists, Cassie Swihart had 11 digs and Katy Frease contributed five blocks.
Taymana Thomas led the Tigers with 12 points and four aces, as well as seven kills and two blocks. Shadrae Stinson had seven assists and Amari Pierce picked up seven digs for Massillon (1-11).
“The girls have been working really hard and they’ve been progressing,” Massillon coach Lindsay Moretta said. “They’ve been fighting and trying. We need to learn how to finish games off.”
Tough 5 set loss for N Canton to a really good team. Very difficult to win those with a star player out with an injury. Good luck to all Fed League teams.

Just curious, what are your certifications/experience in rating officials?
I just got an e mail from a fellow VB Mom, who said that the Sectional tournament is at Lake HS, and the winner then goes to Hilliard, NOT to Hudson.
Your fellow VB Mom, is correct. As for Why? Who knows? Sometimes it is difficult to figure out why the OHSAA does anything in any sport. What is even more goofy, is the Uniontown winner will play at Hilliard-Davidson High School, Thursday Nov 1 at 6:00pm, if they win, they will then have go back to Hilliard on Saturday Nov 5 at 2:00pm.
