So back to the ECC....

This will end up being a very competitive conference. I really like the makeup of the conference and think this is finally a conference that is built to last. I also like the fact that there is so much history with all the schools and it will have some really good neighborhood rivalries.

How about a week 10 composed of these games:

Withrow...vs..Walnut Hills
Loveland..vs..Kings
Turpin.....vs..Anderson
Milford....vs..Glen Este

Don I think you mean the Ball twins, and yes those names you mention were very good. One other thing-why are we on this site since WWHS isn't in this Ecc stuff?

I wouldn't like that because I would want to be at two of those matchups!

Great news for Withrow and the ECC. Before Anderson high school formed the students went to Amelia and Withrow.

Withrow should be fine in most sports and are starting develop the non major sports. This league should help cut down on transportation cost and withrow football stadium is well worth the time to go see a game.

I wonder if Milford will finally step up their football game. Loveland finally did. If they do conference games will be even more brutal.

A little bit of athletic history/trivia:
Anderson chose orange and black for its school colors, because so many of the students who would be attending the "new" school (Anderson High) had been Withrow students who already had orange and black athletic-related clothing. Then why orange and black REDskins? Charles Brown, Anderson's first AD, was a Miami U. alumnus.

That's a pretty good looking schedule you got there. Would you care to make a game by game predicition for your Knights?

I honestly don't know enough about the other teams to make a game by game prediction. I will say with the whole o-line back, Collado at RB, and 6 starters back on d, that anything less than 8 wins in the regular season would be a disappointment imo.
A pretty realible source told me their going to run some mid-line option with Crull at qb. Don't know if he will start at qb or if that is just a wrinkle they'll throw in.

Only Johnson. And except for the intimidation factor due to his size he wasn't that key. Didn't start on offense and was frequently replaced in critical situations on defense. Hopefully he' ll get to play basketball this year.

Anderson in the 40's??? I didn't think Anderson came into existence until the 50's or early 60's???? Not sure about that, but I do know if you lived on the east side, the BIGGER chances were you went to Withrow, Walnut or for those further east, Amelia.

Kenny Davis and Jason Stargell, I know were huge losses. As far as the Eagles rebuilding/reloading for future teams, I do know their incoming Freshman team is filled with talent. Many of the kids on that team have played FB, B-Ball and soccer together since elementary school...It's going to be interesting to watch what kind of team develops.

Anderson High school opened in 1929, just 10 years after Withrow.Wonder what the source is for a lot of kids from Anderson going to Withrow before then since Anderson was rural and not heavily populated.

Losing those two will be felt, but not necessarily in a bad way. The coaches will not be able to rely on two players which caused a few problems last year, especially on offense. This year there are no star players yet which will make it easier to surprise a few teams. This team has lots of talent that is staying instead of transferring, as had happened in the past. Walnut has 25 seniors returning and several juniors who saw a lot of time last year. The o-line is a little faster than last years and the d-line will be better than last years. they have been averaging 80- 90 in the weight room this off season and these guys have gotten huge. The mark of a successful program is how the loss of stars affects it, since it happens every year. If anyone thinks last year was a fluke, they'll be in for a surprise this year.

That's what I've heard as well. The Eagles are poised to get better as the program progresses....it's going to be exciting to watch the eventual showdown between Withrow and Walnut.

Those games will be awesome. Despite what some think, there is a rivalry between the two already. The kids at Walnut would have rather been playing Withrow than Schoeder this year.

I think someone was over doin it a bit trying to tie Withrow in with the other teams in the ECC. That said good luck to Withrow as they have been trying to leave the CMAC for a few years now.

The rivalry may ignite things as Withrow will be entering the ECC. The rilvary went dead when Walnut Hills tried to distant themselves from the CMAC and the rest of the Cincinnati Public Schools. Im sure many at Walnut would rather not play Withrow. But only time will tell.

I think back in the 90's-00's beating Walnut Hills in a sport is like winning the league to most CPS teams. Walnut is look at as i'm better than you even though we come from the same household, so all the other siblings try to beat them in athletics.

Withrow Upcoming Season

How do you think Withrow will fair in there last season in the CMAC before going to the ECC. The Tigers have 17 starters coming back from a decent 7-3 where they beat a Anderson team but sadly lost to a Western Hills team. They also had leads over a 8-3 Scaymore team and a 7-3 Princeton team late in the games. And lastly shared the CMAC title with Taft and Western Hills its there 4th in the last 8 years.

Scrimmage VS. Walnut Hills
Scrimmage VS. St. X
Home VS. Turpin
Away AT. Anderson
Away AT. Centerville
Away AT. Taft
Home VS. Hughes
Away AT. Woodward
away AT. Shroder
Home VS. Western Hills
Home VS. Marist
Away At. Aiken
