You do that, hey don let's remember who first told people that the ecc was going to happen and about a few of the coaching jobs last year. My info is and always has been legit

Whatever. But how about something more important. You think your Redskins will bounce back and make the post season? Kyle Payne is going to be tough to replace. Who does Anderson open with? St. Rita or somebody?
This will be interesting if/when the application of Withrow is made public. They do not have any of the following sports at Withrow, according to their website, and one of the stated reasons for excluding Winton Woods was their lack of a full roster of participation.
No Boys Soccer
No Girls Soccer
No Boys or Girls Golf
No Girls Tennis
Winter Sports:
No Swimming
No Bowling
Spring Sports:
No Boys Tennis
Inability to field freshman teams
And just what Jr. High is it that supports Withrow?
DO THE TIGER HAVE CROSS COUNTRY BOYS AND GIRLS ???? THOSE LEAGUES JUST DO NOT WANT WINTON WOODS ;; AND IT HAS TO BE MORE THAN RACE ??? WINTON SHOULD GO IN THE GMC AND HAMILTON SHOULD GO IN THE SWOC WITH ROSS. MT H., THE EDGE . , TALAWNDIE . NORTH. ETC ; IT WOULD BE GREAT FOR BOTH LEAGUES .

I don't care that Winton Woods is currently stronger than Hamilton. You are not going to boot out a 45 year charter member.
Withrow has every junior high and elementary (K-8) school in CPS. What junior high does Anderson and Turpin have supporting them. That has got to be one of the most moronic arguments about whether or not to include a school in a league. You do realize that none of the GCL schools have junior highs. And you obviously can't navigate a website or you would have seen Withrow has soccer and they have facilities in place for all the other sports. They also have indoor track during the winter. Withrows athletic facilities are probably better than any school in the ECC.
"Withrows athletic facilities are probably better than any school in the ECC." I have no issue with the rest of this post, but I don't believe a statement like this should go unchallenged. Kings, Loveland, and Anderson all have terrific athletic facilities. I don't know about Walnut Hills (new to the league and haven't been there before) but i do know the three mentioned above all have very fine facilities.

Wouldnt be good for hamilton or the GMC, so that wont ever happen. The way WW adminstration handled the whole thing will make it that much harder to find a home.

Not sure if I want to say that you are the moron....but you are for sure wrong about the JH connections. Part of the league should be setting up opportunities for the Junior High programs too. All 7 in the ECC have JH programs, with Turpin and Anderson sharing Nagel Middle School, which is a large one.
Withrows are very nice. Newer gym, football field updated
Cant WAIT........ I want to see the good ole E.C.C. Fans travel down to Withrow..... ha ha ha ha Great choice..... I am literally very happy for yall cause now you WILL get exactly what you deserve AND THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT. *In my Forrest Gump voice*
Anderson played at withrow last year, nothing new. And if you remember it was noting ago. That Turpin, Anderson and glen este were in a league with Taft and Woodward
The ECC was really in a no win situation. To accept Withrow takes on the appearance that the league is attempting to shake the stigma of being labeled racist. To me, I wouldn't had blamed them to stick to their guns and stay at 7 or wait until a better fit came along, like perhaps Lebanon.
Lebanon, really?
Ww folks are just plain delusional.
Seems the tigers won't join til 2014-2015, so the ecc had ample time t find an 8th if they didn't want withrow.

JUST A THOUGHT ;; I KNOW IT WILL NEVER HAPPEAN ;BUT IT SHOULD .
Help me understand why it should happen. So far the only team it helps and makes sense for is WW. Havent seen one argument that makes good sense for the GMC. The GMC will probably continue to schedule games with WW and when it no longer has any benefit for playing against them or WW finds another opponent to schedule, then that GMC team will just look for another ooc game.

Ok. Its time for me to reveal a small portion of how I feel about this. The majority of WW fans are going to disagree with me but its just my opinion and remember we are on the same team.
I personally hoped that WW wouldn't be accepted into the ECC for a couple of reasons. I feel that the competition is not what I would like it to be in Football and Basketball. I feel that the WW FB and BB programs need a little shot in the arm and playing new and tougher competition could be the answer. Alot of my fellow WW supporters are raving about how much athletic talent is in the lower grades, well lets see what we really got. Second, I am not one to beg anyone for acceptance especially someone who has taken on the appearance of not wanting to associate with me. I didnt like the fact that WW applied after it was plain that we were not wanted (for various reasons).
I always thought that the following is what the FAVC football should had done. West: Winton Woods, Mt. Healthy, Northwest, Harrison, Ross, Edgewood. East: Anderson, Turpin, Glen Este, Kings, Loveland, Milford. I still wouldnt be happy with the level of competition, but it would had made sense. I believe that the ECC was intended for schools located in the Eastern Suburbs of Cincinnati.
Next, I am personally glad the Withrow was accpeted. I feel that Withrow has a chance to enhance their total athletic program. I feel that Withrow has a real chance to be a force in the ECC in football. And we already know its going to be total domination in basketball. It appears that Taft will slip back into the pack, those athletes in CPS will be looking to chose a high school and I think that Withrow will now be the first choice many. The kids can transfer from school to school and often due to accomadate athletics. This will become a clear advantage for Withrow and I am not sure how the rest of the ECC schools will view it. I don't like the fact that Withrow won't be part of those classic inner city hoop wars but its going to be very interesting and entertaining to see Withrow competing against the other ECC schools. Please believe me when I say there is a very big difference between Walnut Hills and Withrow.
Again I am glad that Withrow is in and I'm glad that Winton Woods is out. And please Winton Woods don't panic, stay calm and let's support our teams and children.Let's look at the glass as half full and turn this into an opportunity to grow. I hope the football can rebound by having a successful regular season against that schedule then make the post season where teams will have to play us. And if we can make it after playing that schedule, watch out! Good luck to Withrow, I will be rooting for you and good luck to the ECC.

Great post.
Wthrow is a great fit in this league.....and make no mistake, the Tigers will be very competitive in everything.

To answer the Jr. High question, Withrow goes 7-12 in the 2013-2014 school year.

Adding CC and that was in the works BEFORE the ECC decision.

Now wait a minute. I am glad that Withrow was accepted, but I dont believe they are a good fit. Withrow will always be viewed by other charter members of the ECC as the school that doesnt belong. Have you ever heard the expression "the quiet majority". Its parents from ECC schools thinking "what the hell are we doing?" but you will never hear from them. And when Withrow starts collecting league championships, whats going to be the attitude towards the Tigers then?
Whatever. But how about something more important. You think your Redskins will bounce back and make the post season? Kyle Payne is going to be tough to replace. Who does Anderson open with? St. Rita or somebody?
Redskin17, you never did respond to this. Maybe you overlooked it?

The transfer rules have been changed and are being strictly enforced. Kids will have to sit one year. Look for this to limit transfers. Kids need to enter whatever school from the start. Enrollment will be capped also....so every kid can't go to one school. When I was a student at Withrow we were in EML with Anderson, Turpin, Glen Este and others...the thing that will be missed is the CPS rivalries because Withrow will not schedule many of the CMAC schools once they leave. Good luck to them. Let's hope S. Johnson is on her way out so the Tigers can truly excel

Obviously, there was a significant outpouring of support for Withrow, hence, their becoming the 8th school in the league. Secondly, if these so-called, "quiet majority" feel as you indicate, then why remain silent? That's just stupid..... And I'm very curious why you don't believe the Tigers are a good fit for the league?

As I understand, Withrow will continue to schedule CMAC teams, particularily Basketball season. Additionally....you're right....Withrow has played many of those teams in the past in league competition, so what's the big deal, again?

Stupid? I never noticed a "significant" outpouring for Withrow. I just noticed a couple of Yappi posters congratulating Withrow after the fact. I don't think Withrow is a good fit because its a total basketball mismatch and its located in the city limits and not the eastern suburbs. A couple of the same reasons that I didn't think Winton Woods was a good fit. But besides that I am totally happy for Withrow to have this opportunity.
The reason that people remain quiet is because their reasoning may not be wholesome and choose not to spread negativity. If you don't believe that happens then you are naive. But the good thing is that kids, these days are much more tolerable of differences. To a point that kids even imitate kids that are different than they.
