Springfield must have been suffering from a hangover vs Southview.

ccrunner I started doing "Top 10- How Are They Doing" back in districts. The first poll I used was week 4. Then week 5 came out a day or two later and I edited the ranking using week 5.

I am sure week 6 is more accurate but it is much easier to rank teams when you already know who is in the Regional Semi's.

Would give a better overall view if 6 th of 6 weekly ranking was used.

You are joking right? It would not give a better overall view. It might be a little more accurate but isn't it amazing that 37.5% of the teams ranked in week 6 were not ranked in week 5. I wonder why? It is a lot easier to rank teams when are already know who is in the regional semi's.

No, not at all.

The last poll gives a truer final ranking.

Would it be possible to change?

It is already done look up 5 post. I disagree it gives you a truer final ranking. It does give the rankers some cover, so they can say see we did a good job. Like I said when you already know who the final 16 teams are in each div., it makes ranking teams much easier.

Agreed.

Along with the pollsters just ranking who was left by week 6, there has also been a few top ranked teams knocking each other out at the district and regional level.

Only two of the forty-two ranked teams are private schools...and neither of those ranked in the top 5.

I guess private schools don't recruit as well for softball as they do for other sports......

With the first state championship game just about wrapped up, it looks like the trend continues this weekend...the away team has won every game...

Tough Road for Hoover

Looking at the Week 6 AP Poll, North Canton Hoover had to beat #2, #4, #5, and #6 in head-to-head competition to earn the State Title.

Going by the AP Poll from week 5, they took out #2, #5, #9, #10, and the team that defeated #6.

I don't believe that anyone in Division I had a tougher tournament line-up.
