I know Wayne has a good program with great athletes but can anyone get specific about what they have coming back this season since Winton Woods will be playing them this year?
In an earlier thread it was stated that Wayne is the CLEAR FAVORITE to win the DI state title this year. I'm actually kinda shocked they have even decided to let the season play out. I thought they would have just given them the title and saved every other team in the state the time of trying.

I guess you're the only one that took that thread seriously, because the great majority of Wayne fans don't think that at all. We think we have a chance to make a nice run in the playoffs, but there are a lot of questions that still need be answered, most of them regarding the defense. Our defense couldn't stop the run last year.... at all, and gave up a lot of points. Our offense will be very potent and hard to stop, so no worries there. Minton has said the defense is going to be the focus point this summer, so we'll know by the first couple games how well our chances are.

So you fell for that "Wayne" poster that made his first post the op of that thread?

Yeah what you said! If our Defense lets other teams run the ball like they were able to last year........All I can do is

LOL, You gotta keep track of those Northmont posters, for some reason they love to start or get into Wayne threads....
We are expecting a great year for Wayne, hoping to get back in the playoffs and make a run in R4. The offense is there and like what others have stated the big question mark is the defense. If Wayne can get the defense back to what they are used to then Wayne will be a contender in R4, otherwise it will be one and done....

3 of 4 of the O-line return including D1 prospect Peterson and Newsome
QB Harrison returns, top QB in the GWOC and getting looks. Very accurate passer and can also take off and run. 2144 passing yards, 673 yards rushing... 40 TD's last season
WR Jessie Bray - injured last season, Harrison to Bray may be one of the top QB-WR connections in the state. Triston Davis also returns at WR. Also, a 6'6" sophomore WR might get varsity action....
RB's - both backs from last season graduate but Wayne is loaded with underclassman backs. The O-line is the strength and who ever get to carry the ball will get some yardage.
Defense - Return LB Hendrix and a bunch of youngsters. Focus this year will be Defense. It will be emphasized from day 0. Last year was an embarrassment.

Illinois is REALLY hitting up the GWOC kids with offers, they offered 2 kids from Trotwood class of 2013, 4 from class of 2014, and 2 from class of 2015.
I just heard last night that sophomore Devin Reed (starting QB for Centerville's JV team last season) has withdrawn from Centerville and enrolled at Wayne for the fall. Obviouly he won't play QB at Wayne (at least not this year) but how does he fit in with what Wayne has coming back this year?
It was from a coach at Wayne I don't think it's nonsense
Did he move to Huber Heights or just transferring?
Well, we finally got a player in return for Wagner and the FB that we sent to Centerville a few years back, man, I just keep on forgetting his name.....

I'm sure they will find a spot for him. If he can catch that would make 3 top tier WR's on the team....

Can he tackle maybe we can play him on Def. since it was so bad last year. Maybe he can help the D-line know what a dive play is. They sure didn't know what it was last year
If he moved then he is not indligible. If he is transfering then he has to sit out a year. Grades would also make him ineligible but i am not sure that would be the case. guess we will have to wait and see
