I guess it is safe to say that you guys will be running behind that kid this year...wow 11 offers is strong.
We have three returning on the OL...which is unusual. All good size...Speaking of Gull...Miami Hurricanes offered...that doesn't happen too often around these parts.
Moeller will defintely make the playoffs and should do very well. They will have the talent to go deep in the playoffs. I just hope middletown does well enough to get into the playoffs and get a first round home game.

According to Scout.com Florida State has offered, and Miami isn't listed.

With what Moeller has coming back this year would you not agree that they look more like the pre-season #1 in S.W. Ohio than Colerain and the rest of the GCL?

They lost 9 starters on defense and 2 of their top play makers on offense.. no way I would say they should be pre-season #1
If not Moeller, who then? They seem to have more D1 scholarship interest in their players than anybody else I can think of.
Considering Big Moe's continued struggles to finish late in the season, any reasonable Moeller alum or fan probably could care less what the pre-season ranking is. I know I don't care.

They have 3 good division 1 prospects.. there are over 25(at least) players that will have to contribute.. so how are 3 guys that are less than 1/8th of the team going to make Moe #1? I really think it's a little early to decide this stuff but I would put X over Moe because of Coaching.. Moeller has more talent than X a fair amount of the time but when it comes down to the playoffs no one is prepared better than St. X.
Moe has the chance to be really good. However, with that schedule, they can be really good and still go 6-4 or 7-3. If they can get by Gilman in the opener, I think they can build some momentum. The X game is always a toss up no matter who has better talent. Cathedral seems to have Moe's number. Has Rodenburg beat them yet? Then, then finish with Ed's and Trinity. I believe Trinity has a lot of their team back from last year and that game wasn't fun to watch. Oh well, thus is life in the GCL.

In recent memory, I would agree with you...just based on what happened in hindsight...but this year X is unsettled at the QB position, will be talented but young(er) than normal and is unproven on both sides of the line. When I look at Moe, you guys have your RB, QB (maybe the best outside of Jalin Marshall) and big OL coming back w/a major stopper on D in Jones. Add to that some new (but established) coaches (and one would think approaches)and things at least on paper appear to be solid. I will say that as an alum Specht is better than anybody I have observed coaching in Cincy in the past 10 to 15 yrs (with the exception of maybe Kerry Coombs) at getting his players to believe in themselves and the team concept (with the whole being greater than the sum of its individual parts). The first few weeks should tell a lot. Colerain and Middletown will have a lot to say about this Region and the Wayne folks are pounding their chests this year as well...not to mention that Elder won't stay down forever. LaSalle seems to be their own worst enemy in spite of good first team talent with their QB situation. I think the real question is going to be whether any Cincy teams can play with Trinity...They may be #1 in the Country to start the season.

Reading about Jone's 19 offers in the paper today made me wonder about Cincy football players in general and who might hold the record for offers received as far as Cincy H.S. Football goes. Who can top 19?

I would say the Lakota linebacker at Texas would have eclipsed that mark but I am too lazy to research...Shane is a pleasure to watch...and he has been a great young man to have as our own...we wish him the best from our family.
The Cov Cath administration loves to schedule the Blue Colonels against much stronger teams, as long as those teams write them a check for $7000-$12,000 for the athletic department. Wurth has slowed the slaughter down a little bit the last few years with intelligent scheduling, so it's surprising that they would consider playing Moeller next year and the year after that. Very surprising that Wurth would step the schedule up that dramatically again. It was the crazy schedule combined with below average talent that got Brossart run out a few years ago.

If not Jordan Hicks from Lakota West, I'd say Michael Munoz would've had an equally long list of offers.

Kyle Meadows from Lakota West currently has 13 offers and most are from BCS schools.
What's the deal with the GMC boycott? I didn't think this was something official until I saw it in yesterday's chat with Colerain coach Tom Bolden. He says "It's unfortunate after such a long time that we will not be able to scrimmage Moeller. In terms of what is going on between our league and Moeller is something that is up to the athletic directors."
So, two questions, who why did the GMC decide to boycott us and who will replace colerain for the scrimmage?
The GMC has decided to take matters into their own hands and not schedule Moeller in sports. Seems like an adequate response.
My question is if Moeller wants to play by a different set of rules why don't they play a schedule like Oak Hill Acedemy and other who operate outside their league and state championships?

This boycott is going to become a problem for Moeller. Not sure what the exact problem is or resolutions but outside of the GMC and GCL south schools there aren't many D1 football schools in the Cincinnati area. Withrow, LaSalle and Glen Este will drop down to D2, leaving even a smaller number. It's really could put Moe in a bind and seems a little uncalled for.
Read the Roeddy chat session on the enquirer today...
After you get the past the trolls crying about the Madaris/MSU bullsh!t(Which consisted of about 90% of the questions) He mentioned that Lippy intends to install a Defensive Scheme that nobody uses in the city....interesting

Anybody got any nuggets on this scheme?
No idea what the defense is actually going to be but I'm speculating that someone probably uses the 3-4 the 3-3-5 is used the 4-3 obviously.. It comes down to the 4-4 the 4-2-5 and the Indy Cathedral 3-5-3.. of those I think the 3-5-3 is the least common. The 4-4 doesn't make much sense to me at the high school level.
Aside from football, ya' gotta be really happy with how the kids are doing in spring sports this year. Ranked 1st in the city in Baseball, Volleyball, and Lacrosse, 4th in Track and 7th in Tennis.
Kids are doing some great work.
