Rumor?

Was told by a co-worker that he saw that Henny Penny has donated 500k to the sports complex project and construction will be starting soon. Any confirmation about this.

They donated first. It gave the foundation funds to go out and try to raise funds.

Also heard the administration will be giving teachers the option to donate a % of their regular paycheck to the the foundation. I am sure this is tax deductible. I would be surprised if many or any for that matter take them up on this.

Hadn't heard that.....sure no job is secure from the ever prying eye of the M&M school board. Better give or lose your job. I understand they have name the two gravel sites at the schools. At East it is the future site of the McKinney and Mowen Memorial Park. Each entrance will have their statue, showing one member stuck to the other. The other at the high school is the future site of the McKinney Gang Parking Lot.

So has a start date been set yet for construction on the new stadium? Or are enough funds still trying to be garnered?

If the girls basketball coach was let go that is a shame. He was such a good recruiter.

Move Ins

It was really nice to hear about the family that just moved in to Eaton. They are loaded with foot ball talent,2 sets of twins 2 juniors, both linebackers and running backs 6'1-- 215 and 2 sophs.both linemen 6'3" 260. I think all 4 started at mid-size school in Denver. The older ones were projected to be all atate players in Colorado this year. Oh MY April Fools!! About 140 days to kick-off...time to start talking some football!!

Eaton will be a hard running offensive team like in 2010 with that opening up the passing game. Defensively, where they may lack in size they will make up for in speed. There is enough Senior talent to pass on expeirence and leadership to an up and coming Junior class that is very talented. The next couple of years will be fun to watch to see how things turn out. The near future is bright, down the road is yet to be determined.

NO Way!!! They fired Tik????? This is unbelievable. Rick McKinney can't keep his nose out of anything. He knows so much he will destroy another program. Rumor has it, and I got this from another school board member. Rick was so mad after an incident at a football game he sent out an email which got passed all the way to the former student it was about. This infuriated him so much he wanted everyone fired including Coach Neanen. This probably goes back to coach telling him that he would be happier if little Rick didn't come out for football.

I am sure the returning Jrs and Srs have learned a lot these past two seasons. Hopefully they realize that they do not have to try to be what those teams were. Even though the OL looked rough at times last season, several kids got some much needed experience that will serve them well this year. There shouldn't be as many wide eyes out there once they get under the lights.

I agree.....although that first night, lots of butterflies. I think the 12' edition of the OL will do a great job. I really felt Ebright did a great job last year with what was really an inexperienced line and did some pretty good things by the end of the year. I can't wait for this year. No dog in the fight, but have always been Purple and Gold. Go Eagles

Overall there was a lot of experienced gained by underclassmen all over the field which should be a big help in limiting the anxious factor.

There is something to be said about the first night of the season. I know the boys will do fine, but I promise the butterflies will be there. They won't be quit at game speed, every thing will seem like its going to fast. Mine told me last year it took two or three good hits to get things back to normal. I am already anxious to see the new squad. I have heard alot of good things, can't wait to see them play. Should be a great year.

Don't confuse an excited-nervous with a scared-nervous. There is always the excited nerves in the 1st game from all players. I'm talking more about the scared/never-been-out-here nerves that should be limited.

it's definitely going to be interesting to see this team. I think they are going to surprise people that might be thinking there will be a huge drop off in talent.

Oh absolutely....you have two or three on the line, a wide receiver, one or two linebackers and a couple of D-backs returning with lots of experience. The biggest thing I see is replacing the wide outs, the d-line, quarterback and running back. I saw some nice looking players at the jv level and I think that this year will be very successful. I am ready for football.....Go Eagles

Heard from a great source....Tik was not fired, his contract was not renewed to see if any other person wanted the job.We just let go the coach that just won more games in a single season then any other women's coach. Who in their right mind wants to take on anything when a McKinney has a vested interest in the program. Also heard that the board has not even considered building the football field and making the track a secondary project. With the inability to raise all the funds it would seem wise to get part of it done and then work on the rest. I guess high on Mt. McKinney if his brother doesn't get something new then no one will. No one has considered to leave the space for the track and build the stadium. Wow

Build the stadium around East field and move the blessed track to the HS. Put a soccer filed in the middle of it for all I care, just make sure the stands at East are close enough to the field to feel like the fans are part of the game. A track around the field.......

I heard that the QB coach for Eaton is possibly going to Preble Shawnee for head coach position. Is there any truth to this?

Donors

I heard there are several donors holding out until both McKinny's are out of Eaton High School sports and school board. I have voted for every school levy put in front of me my whole life. I will never vote or give a dime to the school district until the McKinny's are thrown out.

Not offering a contract to Coach Titkmeyer is the same BS they did to Moormeir when he didn't cater to the McKinny Boys. Best season in school history and here is the door.

I heard 7988 is going to throw his hat in the ring and run for school board. He's tired of the gravey train Athletic Boosters President position.

Frogbear

I am not sure your intent with your last post. If I am offbase then I apologize.

Booster President is a volunteer position. I find it hard to criticize those who volunteer their time. Maybe you already volunteer your time to the school. If you do, then I thank you. If not, then shut up. Coaching and School Board President are paid positions with our tax dollars. When we are paying we have the right to demand accountability.

Neanon better stop having successful seasons or he will be ran out of town also.

You guys are hilarious!!!! Frogbear that was funny stuff....But I am not running for school board, although my Jack Russell thinks he could do a better job. I am positive that this school district will flourish as soon as the school board is fixed no (McKinney or Mowen). Who in their right mind wants to take the Girls Basketball job with that looking over you shoulder.
