I see we have a couple of the more intelligent followers of Berlin Center now posting. It just great to have someone like these two with their vast knowledge of all things football show the rest of us the errors of our ways.

I'm not from Columbsybanana, nor do I even care about the Coconuts, but never underestimate that jackazz Spaite, he seems to have an endless supply of QB's and running backs. Barbato was good, but not the best.

BTW, Columbiana should be in the Upper, not the lower! Stupid ITCL rules! Should be based on BOYS enrollment, not total!

Bluefan1,
You sound just as educated as your head coach!!!! You beat McDonald once in the last 23 years and you want to be on here pounding your chest. Loli Pop Guild? Really? We have been beating you guys like a bunch of midgets forever and trust me your little run was short lived!!!

bluedevil41...first, just stating I am neutral ? However, as long as Hake is in WR, the program will continue to compete? Coach Kopachy built a program, and then Hake took it another "step".(Kopachy would have done it also). The "changing of the guards" in the last 10 years is unbelievable! The upward mobility of teams like WR, and Southern is amazing when they were the "ho-hum" squads of the past? Now look at the teams who have taken their places? Why... is the mystery question? Who knows what could occur in the near future?

I am not denying that their program has improved, but enough with the bragging about the program when it still stinks of milk. Hake was able to get a few kids from out of town (for example Powell) and yes he has energized his program, but when before this past year those kids weren't even born the last time Reserve topped us. McDonald is still and always will be the class of that league and I think those other blue devils will always have a problem with that!!! TRUTH HURTS

does columbiana join the lower tier this season? wouldn't count Spaite and co. out of the race before it begins.... lower tier is much weaker than the upper and columbiana will always bring a tough, physical team to the table no matter who they are playing..... BTW... Kopachy could never do what Hake did with Berlin Center....

albert, you are high as a kite if you think Kopachy couldn't at least have done what Hake did with those players. In fact, I'd go out on a limb and say that Kopachy's teams might've beaten McDonald for 3 years in a row starting with Ewing's senior year. Look what he did at Salem. By the way, region 21 was the weakest it has been in at least 10 years. JFK down, no Norwalk, no hopewell, no Columbiana. Throw in teams from East and Southeast Region. Not downplaying what the team did this past year, but let's be realistic, the ITCL Tier II was DOWN and so was 21. I'd take the 2006 team over the 2011 team....think about the league that year - Southern stacked, Wellsville stacked, McDonald and Leetonia were great, and even Jackson was decent I think. I think Hake is a good coach and he has a good staff, but he benefited greatly from the groundwork Kopachy laid and he would be the first to tell you that. Now these are totally his kids, so we will see where BC goes from here. I predict that they still can do well.

first off powell is born and bred reserve so eat a fatty. if the program still stinks of milk then why did they beat you 35-7 on your garbage field. this years seniors(upcoming juniors) are going to do the same thing. Tayala's class was the best to ever come out of mcdonald and there wont be anything close to that in the near future. Circle week 4 and write down the L.

how do you figure? kopachy was an absolute joke at WR. he did absolutly nothing and the players didnt even wanna play for him. Hake is a different story. He motivates the kids and they want to play for him especially after what they conquered this past season.

kutner. elaborate? actually dont elaborate, anybody that played for kopachy didnt like him. he wasnt a good coach and he cuouldnt do anything at reserve because the players hence why he went to salem. dont get me wrong salem is still bad but its the point kopachy was a bad teacher and a bad coach

that is a great point. kopachy had the support of his players yes, but hake has their lives. when he says that we are a brotherhood and would go to war with and for eachother that is no joke. he uses the annalogy of when your walking down a dark alley, who do you want by yourside and who will BE by yourside. i can tell you honestly and full heartedly that there is not one person on that team that wouldnt walk down that alley or into the dark forrest with him. he has created somthing bigger than just a good program or a great team, he brought out the love of the game and the passion we all have for it and the dedication and trust we all have to one another and an emense pride in who we are and where we are from. no matter how hard anyone tries, they wont take that away. the only way that you could is if these up and coming classes let you and with hake in the drivers seat, i dont see that as being very likely

I would bet that the former coach instilled those things into his team as well or else they wouldn't of achieve the things that they did.

Good luck Devils! Columbiana will make things very interesting next season.

region 21 is waqy down. so is the itcl but reserve trashed everyone they played. As far as the 2006 team id love to see them play the 2011 team.
2006 2011
B. Maherman 2,000 yards passing 24 td J.Clegg 1,900 yards 29 TD
All 2006 RB's 1,000 yards D. Bolton 2,600 yards 31TD
PPG 32.17 PPG 36.07
Points allowed 11.5 Points alllowed 10.86

Probably the 2 best teams in history. The 1989 and 2009 would also be up there

as far a kopatchy. He rode classes. the 2006 and 2009 class we winnign from pee wees. his sucess at salem was because of trent toothman's class. if he has a playoff season in the next 3 years then i'm the idiot. but i'd also like to say congradulation to mcdonald for beating up on reserve for the 20 some years they were the weak sister of the icl. thats as impressive as our 30 some year streak against sebring because thats how bad wr was.
