reserve and mcdonald both seem to be too cocky. Hopefully God doesn't decide to humble them. WR have alot comming back, should win the league, but you watch and see how tough mcdonald plays them week 4. reserve could have a state championship calliber team and mcdonal could have a .5oo team and would play reserve like they impregnated their sister and vise versa. reserve should win and win by a few scores but don't think for a second that McD will lay down and hand over their sword. and itcl fan obviously wasnt their to see the 46-6 demolishing of 08, or the heart breaks of 06, 35-28,2007 17-14, 2010 15-13 and 13-7. they are taking for granted what it means to beat McD.

why aren't we spending more time talking about columbiana. Last time they played the defending league champs the score was 56-28 Columbiana.

2 State Runner - Up

Over 525 victories

Thats not being cocky ...thats reality

reserve is gonna run the lower tier again. columbiana is a very physical team but like itclfan said, they have almost all ther players back again and their jv squad destroyed everyone they played. if i recall they ended the jv game against jackson at halftime cuz reserves jv sent too many of jacksons players out on stretchers

all Mcdonald's state championship are ap championships. Reserve has one of those. McDonald has been to 2 tourny Championships (both only 4 rounds not the 5 round tourny we have now) but lost both times, unfortunatly for the itcl. reserve beat the 1989 state runner up Mcdonald in the reg. season.

I was? And remember it was only a scrimmage? Coach Spaite does not put "winning and losing" into a scrimmage? He's looking for "things" that might help during the season. Not saying that WR possibly wouldn't have won? WR was loaded in 2011...however, not the same team in 2012? Reminds me of the Lowellville team in 2002 which went undefeated until week 12, and had a very good junior class coming back however with a new coach, just were not able to have the season everybody expected in 2003? WR has alot of work to do but the good thing is coach Hake is passionate with coaching and should have them ready for a "run".

reserve or mcdonal has won the league in each of the 6 years it has existed with leetoniua tying mcdonald in 07. will be nice to have columbiana in that mix so the lower teir will have 3 consistantly competitive teams

I see this upcoming WR team to be alot like the one from 2 years ago. no one picked them after they lost the "superstar" class from what was that 09 with hull and ewing? i think they will surprise people come the end of the year. The sophomores of WR went undefeated in jv, and havent lost a league game in jvs. with the 6 juniors they have and maybe some new talent coming in from that grade this team could be dangerous. they have leadership and experiance. and as for columbiana without barbato idk how good they will be...

I see it as a five team battle. Columbiana, WR, McDonald, Southern & Wellsville. No runaway this upcoming season. I will be surprised if the winner has less then two defeats? Talent wise I love Wellsville. They have alot of under classmen who played varsity ball with a great amount of talent. Speed should not be an issue. Southern will again make an impact. Excellent leader at the QB position and with being a D-5 they need to almost have the perfect season for what we saw in 2011? WR IS wr? Bottom line...Hake can coach football and knows how to motivate! Will be in a battle though compared to 2011. Columbiana cannot assume the drop-down to be a drop-off? I believe overall more competitive in Tier Two? Coach Spaite needs to keep his boys motivated. McDonald has their system intact since World War II, and will be competitive from the fundamental style they play. For me they will have to prove it! Darkhorse could be Lowellville. "IF" and a big "IF" they can put the puzzle together? Skill players are plentifull with Stevens, Moore, and Lucente. If the coaching staff knows how to get these three the ball consistently, they will make any ballgame interesting. Above average speed within the three for sure. We'll see what happens from the Rockets!

Amusing to see all the WR faithful. They haven't won anything in a century so naturally they are excited. They won the ITCL lower tier. Oh boy.

Bluedevil41 is embarrassing the village of McDonald with his dumb comments. When he's not trying to promote his crappy website he's on here running his mouth not knowing what hes talking about.

and take wellsville out of this. Wellsville 6 Shadyside 49
Shadyside 7 Western Reserve 49
Wellsville 7 Western reserve 49
reserve's jv team could have beat wellsville's varsity last year. id say average talent, no structure. wellsville goes 6-4 at best and if they make it back into the playoffs they will lose by 30 or more again. just not for real. That goes for lowellville as well. We've been talking about their potential for 3 years. how about some performance? i don't want to sit here and beat down on teams because these are kids we are talking about, but most of this league has to compete to ligitibly compete.

if reserve loses more than 1 league game they are all disapointments. if mcdonald doenst beat wellsville, dan wiliams should turn in his resignation.
if columbiana loses more than 2 league games, spaite will murder half his team, and if wellsville wins the league then there was some kind of holy intervention. as for southern, i dont know what to think of their situation. good luck grifffen

Thats a BIG IF there. It's been a whole lot of talk and very little action for a long time in the ville. Beyond that I really think you are right in stating that the winner of this league will not be undefeated this year. WR, Columbiana, and Mcdonald are the 3 favorites in my book with southern and then wellsville rounding out the top half. with a wide gap between number 5 and whoever is number 6 i believe.

I'm glad (sarcasm) a lot of you are so uptight about D6 football. Let's just appreciate that these HS boys are putting their time and effort in each and every day to do the best they can do. WR, MCD, LEE, SEB, or COLUMBIANA.....how about representing the NE Ohio area as a whole. Good luck to all!
