I Don't know about anyone else but i see Alot of the Lake players and they Can't wait to get onto the field and Make a run to the Playoffs !This years squad should be very good ,but need a young Qb to step up and start for the next 2 years Because the 2013 squad should contend for STATE !

ROCK EM
Great to hear this years team has some enthusiasm going into the upcoming year! But the big question is, how has the weight room turnout been in the off season? Anyone have an update on the off season program? The boys turnout last season in the weight room was not very good and the results were apparent.
The turnout in the weight room has been great. The players are really pushing themselves. The incoming juniors and seniors are very tight and determined to work as a TEAM, they are ready to take the field and play the game as a team. Lots of leadership this year, and the coaches are also having fun, which I take as a good sign. As far as QB, I like the Miller/ Nolan combo they used on JV. Nolan is an amazing receiver, great hands and very quick feet. That combo worked very well on Satuday mornings last year.
is that the latest excuse out of the ville to play Lake again?..we finally get you back on the schedule a few years back then head Leps back out a few years later, with the whole , if Lake is good we can't beat them...or if Lake is bad we won't get any computer points...it was a lose/lose for them???? I would LOVE to get them back on the schedule..could be a great series!
Wonder how everyone in DII is feeling now that Massillon has dropped into the Division ?? Just found out today in Canton Rep. That Mck might be dropping now too ! It's gonna be same region as Lake and Louisville??? Any thoughts on the matter ?
Well, I heard that Louisville dropped to DIII, but still a very loaded region. I also believe that Glenville is dropping to DII. Should be interesting to see how things go next season
Correction. I just looked at the potential DII NE district for 2013. Teams include Lake, McKinley, Massillon, Louisville, Howland, Walsh Jesuit, Avon, Amherst Steele and Glenville!!!! looks like we're going to have a lot of state champs come out the NE in DII
Has anyone taken a look to see if it is uniform across all the DII regions as far as the number of previously DI schools falling down a Division? I didnt know if one area of Ohio is affected more than another.
We've always had a brutal schedule, but now having to go right back into the grinder in the playoffs (game 1) is a tougher pill to swallow. Plus, even making they playoffs becomes more difficult since we are losing computer points for a win since the Federal League teams are starting to fall in the same division.
I guess we'll have to strap it up a little tighter and work harder!
I think that our schedules of the past playing mostly d1 teams made us that much readier for the playoffs, but now if this revision gets passed that advantage will definitely not be there for us...
I still think that we will be competitive, it'll just be different having to go through 2 or 3 consistently top notch teams instead of one and a few teams that are just having a good season, but that's 2013. This next season should be another good one for the streaks. Tons of returning starters, and a lot of potential points on the board. If they keep lifting, conditioning and get back to the winning mind set that Durbin has set for over 20 years then they will be a forced to be reckoned with
I totally agree that we'll be a force..... We've proved that..... Now the road gets tougher. They said we didn't belong in the Federal League (I am going back to '88). Obviously, we proved that we do..... I guess it comes full circle. We dont have the luxury of going 5-5 and making the playoffs anymore and we'll have to step it up a notch. I played for Durbs back in the day and I can't implore the magnitude of the affect he has on his players. Point being. With smaller numbers compared to the new 'revision', it'll be tougher to stay healthy and going against the bigger schools once we get into the playoffs. We can beat them (as we've proven), but it's a murderous row...... I am looking forward to the next few years. I heard we have something special!
I'm also curious to see who Lake will schedule now. With Mck and Green coming into DII they will be worth less points. McKinley will still win games, no disrespect to the Green football program at all, but with Green most every year going 3-7 or 5-5 and I would love to see Lake schedule another team that would possibly earn them more points for the playoffs. Possibly renew the Louisville rivalry that we always loved when I was in school or possibly Massillon. I remember back in 08 when the team went 5-5 and missed the playoffs by something like than .2 computer points. If you find a way to beat Massillon, McKinley, Louisville and two other schools then most years you will find yourself in the playoffs. Granted it would be an extremely grueling schedule. Just a little food for thought
I don't see where Louisville is of any value to Lake. Except for Hoover, they play all D III and D IV teams and therefore bring little level 2 points for Lake.
Same for Louisville, they beat Lake when Lake is down and have no points to give. When Lake is hot, Louisville won't beat them and again, on points.
A few years ago I would have been very much in favor of playing the Leps every season. I believe it would have made for a sensatonal rivalry game points be dammed. However, Louisville doesn't seem to be the same force. I read alot of the Leps threads last season and alot of what I read seemed to indicate a change in attitude and style of play versus Farrah's tenure. Not only that but the last 3 years freshmen squads for the Leps didn't seem to have a lot of talent either. From my perspective Louisville seems to be headed in the wrong direction.
For us, as I have indicated before, most of our hopes rest on putting together a formidable offensive line. The book is still out on that score IMO. Weight room totals for linemen aren't exactly impressive. We won't know much about our line i'm afraid until we get a couple scrimmages under our belt. This much I do know...our offensive line coaches are still sore about last year's performance and are not going to be very gentle about pis-poor play. We will see what happens. We have some excellent skill guys and very good potential at the QB position but, as was proved for all once again last season, we live and die with our horses up front. Always have. Always will.
Nothing to say, just got tired of looking back 4 pages to find the Blue Streak thread. I'm in the mood to throw rocks at the bees nest but I can't think of any good rumors to start. Any ridiculous suggestions would be appreciated.

I'll jump in
You guys ready to get it again? if you can remember, when the two senior classes (2013) met in their freshman year, we won that contest, not by a whole lot but never the less. Also if I'm not mistaken, our juniors were also the victors.
I understand that when the boys are playing varsity ball, things can be very different. coaching plays a much bigger role, after all, you do have Durbin.
Oh, and by the way, our Defense will be better, I'd lay some cash on that.

It should be a good game! Lake was really down last year and you guys took advantage of it! I think you come to Lake this year?
