Dunno, but whatever it could be, its neither a football nor a wrestling move. No kid will be allowed to transfer in just for sports.
No disrespect intended. I just want to clarify.
Do you mean that X will not accept students that are transferring for sports purposes only? Or do you mean that X will not accept a student based upon sports performance only?
I should have been clear in one my earlier posts; transfers for any reason are rare at X; the few that occur are due to students who attended other Jesuit schools moving into the Cincy area. Exceptions to that are extremely rare, can think of only 2 in the last 12 years.
A good but far fetched example would be if a kid would transfer in from Brophy Prep in Arizona if one of his parents had a job transfer
Do you mean that X will not accept students that are transferring for sports purposes only? Or do you mean that X will not accept a student based upon sports performance only?
When a kid applies to transfer in, the school looks into reasons why. They also do not look at sports performance when considering transfers. They don't even look at athletic ability when looking at incoming freshman.

Thank You for clarifying that point.
I think that Austin and Stephen would be a great addition to X. Both are smart, athletic and very nice kids.
I'm sure Moejoe will not be thrilled if the transfers go through Stephen wrestled for Moeller his freshman year and probably still has all of their underclassmen records and Austin is not only a State champ at 220 in Kentucky like Stephen is at 152 he is a current freshman national champ and national OW winner who is attempting to break the national powerlifting records in the bench press and deadlift in a few weeks in the 16 and 17 age group .The Moeller faithful are well aware of him he has won a few state titles for their grade school and jr high team .
Stephen's transfer did not meet requirements. Austin's did but not likely to occur. Both would have been Xcellent additions to the blue line based on academic history, character and work ethic.
Transfer rules applied moejoe83.
I, too, was glad X was able to provide Morris an alternative to Moe back in 06 given his circumstances at Moe
If Ballaban told you, I really wouldn't believe it. He said he was also tortured by the Nazis and now one arm is shorter than the other (as he puts both arms out to the same side making one arm shorter). He's a card! My dad always goes to see him when they're in Florida visiting family.
Next time you or your dad visit Coach Bal see if he can provide additional info on the unofficial retirements of jersey numbers 73 and 76.
All I've ever heard is both were linemen killed shortly after graduation, one in a motorcycle accident the other in war. Unofficial retired jersey #78 not a mystery.
How we looking in work outs? Camp starts in 10 days!
The more I consider the QB situation the more I think Milligan!!
He gives X the needed ingredients: experience, smart, elusive, good decision maker, great runner, decent arm (twice he has thrown TD passes to Kilgore).
He will have CJ behind him and Frey, Kilgore, Dunn, Brinkmann and possibly soph Fricke as targets.
How many of the super sophs get varsity PT?
Can Sully work his old magic with the OLine after being away for a dozen years?

Senior captains? Milligan, Hamad, Jacob and Ries?
Camp is less than a week away!!
Whoever they go with at QB...that person needs to be able to get the ball to that talented group of WR's... and mobility probably wouldn't be a bad thing either ... One thing about Milligan...the kid just makes plays..you can't coach that.
Last year senior captains were unanimous...every varsity player that voted wrote down the same 4 names (Cook, Hundley, Albright and Gerbus).
The odds of @130 varsity players writing down the same 4 names out of 50 to 60 from which to choose is astronomical.
Pretty certain that will never happen again.
Questions regarding senior captain criteria and voting
Do all varsity players vote (regardless of class) and do captains have to be 2 defensive players and 2 offensive players?
Seems to me one year not long ago X had more than 4 captains with 2 additional captains walking behind the 4.

Thats too bad Stephen is a very well liked athlete in Ohio and around the country from what i know of him and he is a pretty solid student with quite a few college offers a multiple x All American and state champ .Im sure he would have been well liked at X and it is a loss for the state of Ohio if it keeps them from coming back Stephen being a top 100 recruit and Austin being state champ a Freshman national champ and OW winner ranked 1st in his class by many around the nation He would easily be the top ranked sophmore in the state of Ohio at whatever weight he went he pinned the top ranked sophmore at his weight class in the state in the first period the last time they wrestled .
Not even taking any of that into consideration they are good kids and students .They have had multiple comings and goings on the Moeller team im sure they did not feel comfortable going back there even though it would probably give Moeller the extra umph it needed to win a state Team title.
All i can say is wow .

Didn't Specht make Dolle a captain as well? Doesn't the offense vote for two offensive capt's and the defense vote for two?

Anyone who's read this site for awhile knows what the issue is with both of them returning to Ohio.
The boys have never ever been the issue, someone else in the family is. The real victims in this situation are the boys, not St. X.

Obviously"youngmoegrad"your name and post tells the story and reason for them looking towards X and not back at Moeller. If the family raises good kids students and athletes then they may be the simple victims of those they have shown up time and time again .
Either way someone is doing something correctly and chose to continue doing what has worked in the past ,always looking for better opportunities for their kids .
The victims will not only be the kids themselves in this story but those who would have been made better individuals from being around them .It goes both ways .
I doubt any parent wants to see their kids going to different schools if it can be avoided and i doubt any parent wants their kid where there is obviously so much mudslinging going on .
I doubt the family returns their kids to Ohio without being able to give their kids a better opportunity in school as well as sports the boys have helped their own school in Ky capture a Team state title an individual national title and helped gain their school and state recognition for not only wrestling but the way in which they conduct themselves while they are wrestling just as they would have done and would still be doing for Moeller had people such as moegrad not stirred the pot at every opportunity .
A shame Stephen was not only Moellers OW on the varsity wrestling team his freshman year he was a football player and an All American in Freestyle wrestling over the summer who helped Team Ohio for two years in a row earn respect across the country and was actually very well liked by everyone not only at Moeller but throughout the state and the kids themselves are what matters not what the gossipers or the family thinks of each other .
To say he deserves the chance to better himself is an understatement he has earned it over and over again in work and deeds .

I know enough people in the wrestling program that no one pushed Stephen out of Moeller. They push you, his father, out.
Every single person involved with Moeller wrestling has had nothing but compliments when asked about Stephen.
Both of your boys should've stayed at Moeller, all you had to do was be a rational human being during HS wrestling season.
If you were soooo concerned about who Stephen and Austin were surrounded by, I think you'd be fool to think Moeller's wrestling room wouldn't have been the best place for them in SW Ohio. Both the weights your boys wrestle/wrestled would've been aided by being surrounded by Joey Ward/Ziegler and being surrounded by Thornberry and Fureauf.
I just hope you let both your boys enjoy college and you stay wherever it is you are now.
I remember in 08/09,They picked 4 guys and a 5th was picked every week. I think thats been pretty common. Kilgore isnt the biggest leader, but being a 3 yr starter(3rd WR as a soph) I think he'll get the nod

Perhaps you should have stayed on the Moeller threads and the wrestling ones as well and i think all those kids always benifited more from Stephen and Austin than They did from them .Perhaps Ward would have beniffited from wrestling Stephen at Swowca rather than running and losing after all of the boasts made by people like you at Moe .Not dragging this thread down your path But Ward and Ziegler were never on Stephens Level I like Ziegler hes a good kid but i think Ziegler was there wrestling JV when Stephen was breaking all the underclassmen records at Moe and Ward was somewhere in d2 not placing that yr so lets be realistic As for Austin you need to wake up he has always done better than any other kid in the sport from cincy including Stephen and has always been overlooked a 3x district champ a runner up and 2 x state champ and OW in JR high a state champ in ky as a freshman at 220 and before you throw mud across the river he was undefeated at freshman nationals and schoolastic national duals and came back with an OW from NHSCA unlike anyone else from Ohio or KY And hes about to break every national powerlifting record in the nation for his weight and age .
You better talk to your pals before you start saying who benifits from wrestling whom .
As for partners I think Heyob did well against Moeller and Cole Jones is a very good wrestler as well you could care less about Steff and Austin wrestling in your room and what they all could have been your worried about what effect they could have on Xs team because there are good kids there as well .
And lets be honest i do worry who my kids are surrounded by and i like them around honorable people ,people who stand by and respect the people who get them where they are people who recognise hard work .stay tuned Moegrad and you will learn a thing or two about respect and wrestling and what people think is best for their kids ..
I did not take my kids out of Moeller that was someone elses decision just as it was someones decision to throw a dad out of a wrestling tournament for letting his sick 2 yr old son get a doughnut out of the coaches lounge when he had a band .thats the kind of class me or my family do not need that kind of care can stay around you and yours moe grad .
I see you had to start the trash talking on this thread happy to see you and your pals so nervous .
Yes its a shame they are not at Moeller stephen could win 145 152 or 160 this year with the right coaches and training and and Austin is a top 3 threat wherever he wrestles if not a state champ and if he is at X he will be , thats why you bothered to comment you know who is going where and what they have always done together ,Its Magic .Butt out
Can this line of discussion be diverted to the wrestling page?
Those boys play football too so I think it is appropriate right here... besides this thread was getting a little slow so I think it helps us bridge the gap until practice starts this Sat.
