willis west weinel ware and davis seem to look like the most potent lineup in the conference pitching maybe a problem but offense will be at a premium at the ballpark on chester
The GMC is looking to be a dog fight as usual this year. Top teams = West, Princeton, East, Oak Hills.......Mason may be able to hang.
It will be between East and Princeton for the league champ. All of this, of course, IMHO.
Cattani: How is school? Where have you been? We need some of the old fun banter. I want to throw Fairfield in the GMC mix. They have a nice pitching staff, some experienced seniors, and overall team speed. Hitting will be the big test. Fairfield has a legit shot...Princeton is lacking pitching. They have a kid named Andrew Audretch 6'7: righty who can bring it and after that Marcus and Randy Weinel..Dorian will be crushing the ball as he has been hitting with Bull Durham all off-season.... Time will tell.
I haven't been in school in years. LOL. I've been working in Knoxville, TN for a while now but I'm back in town. I know, this board has been boring for a while!!!
FF....I've never been a fan of FF. They always seem to have the talent, but never do much with it.
KID: East will be 1-2-3 in the GMC...I'll bet on that.
Cattani-While I certainly can understand your support for East, on what do you base that projection? I have often wondered how East has always been subpar to their West counterparts in most sports. Coach Hamilton had a lot of success at Ross but has not been able to come up comparable teams at East. Since Driesbach has been at West, they are a regular at the top 1-4 teams in the GMC and have enjoyed great tournament success. Not really looking to discredit the East coaching staff or players, was just wondering about their lack of overall success. Any ideas?
In my opinion, East doesn't have enough good players to put it all together. Sure, they have some really good players here and there, but not enough to get it done right. Ray Hamilton is a FANTASTIC coach. He does a great job.
This year, you've got Colton, David Geise, Evan Dusold in the field and with the sticks and they've got some decent pitching too. I really think they'll make a run in the tourney this year. (I could be biased, but I think I'm on it.)

West has been more successful than east in just about all the major sports(football, basketball, wrestling, and baseball). Look at some of the rosters at Lakota West and you will see that not all of these athletes originally were from West. Example: West's baseball team last year. Bryan Beaver transfer from Moeller, and a jv player for LW was a transfer from Moeller, not sure on his name. Jimmy Brennaman from Lakota East< never played at East, and Nate Smith not sure what high school he went to but moved in from Tennessee as I've heard. Another example would be the football team at Lakota West this year. Hershal Brown, Dwight Phillips, and Rashod McClendon all transferred from Lakota East. I would assume it must be coaching because look at the success West has had compared to East the last couple years. all 4 athletes from East to West have made a tremendous impact on the program, and of course Bryan Beaver from Moeller.
Bryan Beaver is not a moeller transfer. He has gone to a Lakota School his whole life and decided he would try going to Moeller (one advantage was skipping the massive freshman building for Lakota) and realized it was a dumb decision. Why wasn't he called a Lakota West transfer when he was at Moeller? He is a Lakota West player period. Even though the Enquirer consistantly wants to headline their paper "Moeller Transfer". Horrible newspaper with regards to being biased.
Students can transfer within the Lakota District all they want. Lest we not forget, Nick Kohs and Ta'ress Daniels transferring from West to East in the middle of the basketball season a few years ago because they were disappointed with their playing time at West.
pitching wins in baseball. colerain has the best staff in the gmc by far. henn, hundley, and vice are as good as it gets. funny how everyone talks about how important pitching is but now they predict the teams that have no pitching will win because they have hitting. i think colerain will win the gmc easily, and i say that because of the piching they have.

If we are just talking about pitching, and I know West has alot to replace from last season at several positions however they do return two pitchers who got it done last season at the Varsity level in big games in Beaver and Smith as compared to the Colerain guys who really didn't have a big role last season. I think Vice may have been a reliever in some big games but I don't think the other two were pitching in big games last season for Colerain. I have to give the edge in pitching to West until the guys mentioned for Colerain do it in games rather than get hyped on YAPPI.
1. West
2. Fairfield
3. Princeton
4. East
5. Oak Hills
Im pretty sure Oak Hills we be top 3 . For sure. def alot of good talent. and alot of TEAM work. alot of the players on varsity this year have played ith each other for 2 or 3 years. and maye even more as kids. This is a TEAM sport. Im pretty sure Oak Hills with put it all together this year as a TEAM.
who does east have besides geise, cattani, and an average pitcher in zompero? i dont understand why people think they will be able to contend for the GMC championship
