Question UC 2009 Recruiting Class

I've seen a few things of interest when it comes to BK and the future 2009 recruiting class...

Some names:

Patrick White-WR/DB-Pickerington Central

Looks like a pretty good athlete... compared to Malcolm Jenkins in this article... http://cincinnati.rivals.com/content...943&CID=765929

Pat Muldoon-DE-St. Xavier

John Anevski-OL-Elder

Hopefully 2009 is the year BK can break through and get some big time recruits to Clifton...

FWIW, White's Dad, Terry, played at Ohio State. So, he definitely has the genetics on his side.

UC just offered Elder WR Josh Jones!

It's Jones first offer. Great timing by UC, I think JJ will explode in his Senior season and to be the home town school that "wanted" him before anyone else is a great recruiting tool.

Don't be surprised if Jones and a few other locals commit to UC in the next month. Just what I've been hearing. Kelly and Coombs are going to do an unbelievable job with the local 09 class.

I thought his dad actually transferred from OSU after a year or so and played at West Virginia. Could have the wrong person though.

This is actually for a 2010 recruit but, UC has just offered St. X's Matt James and Lakota West's Jordan Hicks...

http://frontier.cincinnati.com/blogs/preps/

Go down a ways to: St. Xavier's James has UC Offer

James is an OL who is 6'7" 270LB at FIFTEEN...

Hicks is a LB who Lakota West's coach Cox says could be the best prospect ever to come out of his program...

I really like what Kelly is doing. Sounds like he is being really agressive with the "Ohio State" type recruits from this area.

UC has now offered 4 local sophomores. I think there are about 3-4 more kids who are close to getting them in that class as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Adam Brown and Pete Bachman get offers too in that class soon.

That would be big time if the Bearcats could sign Josh Jones. I think he has the potential to be a great receiver for the Bearcats and one day in the NFL as well.

Why would they offer someone who hasn't taken any meaningful snaps on varsity yet?

The '09 class has it's first verbal commit... and he's a home town kid...

EDIT:

It's being reported by Bearcatlair.com now, the '09 verbal is NCH's Everett Horne...

From Bearcatinsider.com, apparently Danny Milligan has been talking to Pat Muldoon a lot about coming to UC... good news, for sure...

Terry played safety for the Buckeyes in 1985, and had an INT in the Citrus Bowl win over BYU that year.

http://www.centralohio.com/ohiostate...itrusbowl.html

He was suspended for the season the following year just prior to the start of the season.

I presume he would have gone to WVU after that incident, although I don't know the details.

I like what BK is doing, but you guys are getting way to fired up over 15 and 16 yr old kids. Loyalty or being the first to offer, wont make them sign on the dotted line when a top 10 program comes knockin on their door.
Who's to say that 2-3 years from now UC won't be a top 10 program capable of securing 4 and 5 star players? If that does play out in our favor, the loyalty issue becomes huge.
You're an OSU fan, right? Think about BJ Mullens. I know, we're talking football, not basketball. But the comparison absolutely fits.

I actually like that UC is offering all these kids real early. It's a good way to get players interested in your program early. Good tactics by BK.

Even if these kids never play meaningful downs at UC, they are still better than the backups there now, which makes your program better.

All in all, good moves by UC, kind of what Illinois is doing right now.

UC had their Super Junior Day over the weekend... sounds like it went well... I particularly liked this quote...

Quote:
“Wow!” said Chris Snook about the day. “The weight room was something I’d never get sick of. I’ve been to Ohio State’s weight room and Cincinnati’s is better than Ohio State's.

Haha, it's hard to get better than the WHAC at OSU. Anybody have a link to pics of UC's athletic facilities?

Those are pretty nice. I still think OSU's are better though . Their newly renovated WHAC is probably Top 5 in the country, if the not THE top.

unless UC is recruiting you, your opinion on it doesnt matter .

its great for the bearcats to get a jump on recruiting these kids, im sure BK doesnt expect to keep them all, but even half of them would be a HUGE step in the right direction and something to build on.
