The defending USSSA Major level state champs, Ohio Storm 12u baseball team, is looking for one player to add to an already excellent roster for the 2008 season. The team will carry a full roster of 11 to 12 kids at maximum. The age is what you are on April 30, 2008. If 12 or younger on that date you are good for the 2008 season.
Type of player we are looking for: Must be a pitcher. We are looking for 1 more quality starting pitcher. Top pitchers we face at this age usually throw between 60 and 75 mph and have good command of both a fastball and change-up. Being that we only carry 11 players (maybe 12 if the circumstances work out) we are also looking for this player to play a position in the field as well when not pitching. The position would be of the strength of the individual.
We try to keep the roster size down to 11 excellent players/athletes so that all the players are playing most of the time and we still maintain some depth. Being that we keep a small number of kids on the roster it is imperative that this pickup is extremely committed.
The player will be trained by some of the best pitching and hitting coaches in Northeast Ohio throughout this winter. The team is based in Akron, Ohio but this player can come from any goegraphical area. Being that the tournaments are in different parts of Ohio, Michigan, Pennslvania, Illinois and Florida the player can meet up with us at tournament location. Travel ball experience is not a must.
The team will play between 60 and 75 games this coming season. We have been invited to play in some of the most prestigous tournaments in the Midwest. Our schedule already consists of games with the top teams in the South and the Texas and California teams. The Storm team has been very competitive with the the top ranked teams in the nation by USSSA and AAU the last four seasons. We finished 3rd at AAU Nationals in 2004 and 8th in 2006.
