Bearcats got another Verbal

Bearcats Got a verbal from Centerville WLB Will Johnson rated #42 LB in the nation 2 stars, 4.45 speed.

UC beat out Eastern Michigan, and Marshall for him. He attended WVU's camp

Really Happy with the class so far, 1 3 Star, and the are 2 Stars.

UC needs to get some offense live guys, another QB (besides Chazz Anderson), a Powerful RB and WR then they'll be clicking

UC is getting a very good player, he can play all over the field. Not sure why he would be rated at linebacker though?

They really need to land Becker and Jones. I would also love to see them offer Wersel. Those three will be great college players.

I hear they like Will Johnson as a WR / SS.

Also, did he play for Chaminade as a sophomore? I seem to remember him being the tailback for them as a sophomore (Ringer was hurt) when they played Elder at the Pit and he was very impressive...

I agree. I hope they can land Becker and Jones. I keep hearing Jones is a Minnesota lock though. I hope that isn't the case. I think he'd be a perfect fit in Dantonio/Narduzzi's defensive scheme. He is a tremendous blitzer and UC loves to blitz their Outside Linebackers...

bearcats offered josh herron from monroe a full ride. he still hasnt decided between cincinnati and west virginia tho. cincinnati is considering him for a kick returner, anybody that has seen him play knows he can shake, simply a skill that cannot be coached. i cant count the number of jock straps i've seen left laying around and then the ability to burst through an opening. a huge weapon for cincinnati. lets hope he goes there

I sure hope he chooses UC too. They like him a lot. UC is filling up their scholarships this year pretty quickly though, hopefully Herron and BJ Cunningham both commit to UC soon. I think they have a real good shot now with Clay Belton the QB from Northmont as well. He would be a huge pickup!!

The program is heading in the right direction. I can't wait to hear in the near future when we are talking about UC as a powerhouse, instead of the Bucks.

That surely won't happen anytime soon. Especially if Dantonio ends up at Michigan St.

Michigan St. has chosen their coach. It's not Dantonio.

Enlighten all of us as to who it is. I hope it's Mariucci or some other coach and not Dantonio, but Dantonio would be stupid not to take it if it's offered.

I don't have his name in front of me, but the reports are pretty strong that it's the DC from the Browns.

How does Dantonio's departure affect these recruits and their commitments?

I dont understand why these recruits are re-considering when UC just got a better coach then Dantonio and Michigan State now. I know it is tough because the guys that recruited them are now gone, but the staff that is coming in is better than it was now.

I agree. It will take time for kids to realize that. I think it is hilarious how everyone thinks Michigan State is suddenly on a roll with Dantonio. You look at his commitments the last week and they are all 2-stars who had only 1 BCS offer, and that was UC before he left there. I think this guy is in for a rude awakening when he thinks all these guys are going to be helping them even be competitive to the Big Ten...

Hopefully Kelly gets in contact with him. He'd be a perfect WR in UC's new offensive system...Much better than playing WR for a Treadwell coached offense...

They have him playing LB on Rivals.com, who knows though, he played everything at Centerville.

Yeah he played all over the field at Centerville. I know Dumbtonio recruited him to UC as a Wide Receiver...

Why any wideout would prefer to play in a Dantonio/Treadwell offense over what Kelly will bring to UC is beyond comprehension to me.

I have heard that DE Rob Trigg, DE/LB Randy Martinez, ATH Will Johnson and QB Chazz Anderson have all re-affirmed their commitments to UC. Thats good news because I personally think those were 4 of their 5 best recruits to date (along with Scott Johnson who I havent heard anything about yet)...

Great to hear! Yeah, I would totally agree that these guys are some of the best. Have you seen Martinez in person, Don. WOW! The kid is built like a freaking bull and looks like a man amongst boys already. I expect good things and how the ---- did Rutgers let him get out of the state? The Martinezes are a very nice family. I can tell you that by talking to the father that the kid is a typical, hard-nosed NJ SOB who will bring his lunch pale to work everyday. I can tell you that they certainly didnt come to Cincinnati to play for Dumbtonio. Ive been hearing how alot of kids like UC's whole new set-up and the city itself. Sounds promising for the Bearcats. Im also excited with new coach Kelly. The guy is a winner. Nothing but class and honesty plus he has a great PERSONALITY (no more scowling or stuffed suit interviews) ! I would play for this guy in a heartbeat if I still had eligibility. Reminds me a bit of a certain coach in Columbus.

Randy Martinez is an absolute monster. He is by far UC's best recruit at this point in time. He had offers from most of the big east coast schools. Rutgers offered him and definitely tried hard to land him, BC, UNC, Maryland and others offered him as well. I think Chazz Anderson is also a really good prospect. He jumped to a 3-star by Rivals and had offers from South Florida, IU, Purdue and others.

I agree with you about Kelly, the kids already really like him. He has a great personality and can really relate with the kids, he is going to bring a real spark to the program. I know his #1 priority right now is recruiting WR's. He says he needs about 4-5 WR's in this class who are ready to play early in the Big East. He was a great hire in my opinion...

Aren't they getting Mister Simpson? He could take care of the RB position.
