Alter's offense picked it up in the second half and so did their defense. Wapak went away from their traditional run game that was working and started passing? Not sure about the play calling here as they have been successful with that all season.

Too many lateral running plays. How many negative plays did Kaeck have? He gouged them numerous times for 10+yd runs and in terms of positive yardage, they were able to manage significant chunks of yardage each time. They drove right down the field before the fumble inside the Alter 5. Likewise, starting drives off with false starts really hindered their ability to move. Most of the drives started off as a false start....kaeck rush for 7 yards, lateral running play for loss of 2, and then wapak panicking trying to pick up a 3rd and long with a passing game that they don't excel at. Kaeck averaged 7yds/carry....but only carried the ball 10 times.

The line of scrimmage isn't the only aspect of the game that matters, even if wapak won it. Kaeck averaged 7yds/carry on only 10 rushes despite being Wapak's best player and biggest offensive threat. Meanwhile, the Alter RB had 20 carries for 75yds...and hats off to him, because he took numerous hits, and scratched and clawed with great leverage to get those 75yds. Wapak's turnover inside the 5 cost them 7pts. More importantly, Alter has a more efficient passing game, and exploited matchups against #9 against wapak. It was a rather offensiveless game, but ultimately boiled town to turnovers, penalties, and Alter hitting 3 vital passes that gave them TDs on well executed plays.

Ultimately Wapak had to abandon the run and go to plan "B" which clearly isn't its identity. Spirited game wouldn't say it hung on a couple of plays, but rather that Alter had another gear when it needed it.
I thought Alter's D played great. I realize that they lost the line of scrimmage battle, but they bent, and didn't break against a powerful Wapak ground game. I thought the psychological effect Domsitz put on Wapak had a huge influence. I don't think the coaches were incompetent, but Alter's D forced Wapak to continue to hope for some miraculous seem on jet sweeps, that never developed aside from a modest gain at the beginning of the game. The secondary play was obviously good, as Alter has seen much more proficient passing teams than Wapak.

Alter is the real deal. They played a great game and made plays when it counted. Good luck to the knights the rest of the way, I hope you guys win the whole dang thing and I feel you will.

As for the rest.......Both of Wapak’s backs averaged over 6 yards a carry. 6x2=12, Wapak math!!! And that is a first down all night. But when you call the same play that went for negative plays over and over again, and even worse on 4th down, that math goes away. After #5 ran for 8 yards on the first play of the game the coaching staff should of known he is gonna need to get 40 carries if need be. That didn’t happen and that is too bad. Not sure Wapak wins if that happens but it would of been closer.

Great season skins. We loved watching you battle this year. You boys have made us proud.

Read in todays Dayton Daily online that QB Bazelak and WR Willits have been playing together for 8+ years! They know each other well. Some great long catches. #9 also punts and plays strong safety - most Alter players donít go both ways which keeps them fresh for 4 quarters. Thought Wapak looked tired in the 4th. Was surprised that their QB goes both ways and he looked especially tired.
