New as in football players , playing next year. They felt bad not playing basketball this year, there will be 5 nordonia football players next year, so nordonia might start of slow.

Brian, I was completed shocked when I saw that Matt Cash had applied for the Canton McKinley job. Tough to walk away, especially after you ordained them 2015 Suburban League Champs.

The Grizzlies have had a pretty good summer so far. Much different team than last year with a more balanced perimeter-based offense. Wadsworth should be competitive but not as good as last year. I saw Highland play against Lima Perry at Wooster and think they will be the team to beat this season. Have not seen Nordonia though.

Green's 2014 Summer Results

1. Mt. Union Shootout-Green lost in semifinal to Timken in overtime and that was without two starters (Marciniak and Davies)
2. Wheeling Shootout in West Virginia, 32 Teams- Green went 6-0 and were Tournament Champions
3. Univ. of West Virginia Team camp in Morgantown, went 7-0. Tournament Champions. Starter John Davies 6'5 was not there either.

I'd say that is a pretty good summer so far.

Wadsworth's coaching situation means they wont ever be really competitive. .500 or a few games above/below and a usual first or second round tourney loss. Really nice guy, very little ability to coach.

Ditto for Green, very nice guy, no personality, teams never seem to improve as the season moves along but they are usually ready come tourney time to make a little noise. IMO he's definitely ran his course and we need a change but unfortunately I don't see it happening.

Not sure what you are watching, I think they do a lot with very little. They are a team built with "second sport" guys who play hard and compete every time they walk on the floor. IMO Wadsworth is NOT a desirable job and they are fortunate to have a capable coach.

I couldn't agree more. As an outsider I can't understand what Wadsworth or Green fan has to complain about. Both coaches get a lot out of their players. I think over the last 6-8 years you would have to consider Green the best program in the Suburban League and Wadsworth would not be far behind. You both have coaches who put in a lot of time with their programs and have success, its not like either program is going 5-15. At the high school level coaches make mistakes just like their players. If they were great coaches they would most likely move on to college and get paid to be a full time coach. Remember this is a part time position not their career choice.

I understand your thinking on Green. They absolutely come to play almost every night. However, I believe as a long time supporter that it is more because of the superior youth program they have and the talent year in and year out and far less than the coach. He has been afforded a very long tenure and when you have that you will have great continuity. But, I believe the program has become stale and ran its course and a change (hopefully for the better but I understand that doesn't always happen either) is needed. He has never won a district title in his 15+ years and not even a SL title which is really ridiculous. This and his backword personality and games he plays with a lot of the players.

It will be an interesting year in the SL. I saw most of the teams play this summer. I thought Wadsworth looked really tough. They have two real strong scorers. One kid was pretty dominant most games I watched

Have seen him play several times in 7th and 8th grade as well as during AAU season......great athlete, strong, quick, and can jump out of the gym. Average outside shooter, average fundamentals which will get better with maturity, over aggressive on defense and tends to commit way too many fouls early in games. Needs to understand you can't jump over everyone for rebounds and you can't block every shot! Once he starts playing the game smart, he can be very good.

Brian, do you think that Tye will see some Varsity time?

Congratulations to Alders, I would of guessed he was going to play football in college instead of baseball.
