Sinker Ball pitchers are usually pretty consistent, unless you're talking about roberto hernandez. Derek Lowe pitched 200+ innings last year. Sure, he went 9-17 but it could be worse.

Nope. He pitched poorly coming back from injury but since that was 6 months ago I'm not going to worry about it. If he was still injured I'd be concerned but he's not and his fastball is back up to where it was in 2010.

Such pessimism.

Such pessimism.

Today on the MLB network, Manny Acta complained about Ubaldo's complex delivery and also said that the jury was still out on whether the Jimenez trade was worth it, or not. Not exactly a ringing endorsement from the Indians' manager.

John Hart also noted Ubaldo's unorthodox motion, pointing out that his delivery is easy to throw out of whack, yet difficult to correct.

Here's a question: If Ubaldo is healthy and his fastball is back, then why is he putting 2-3 guys on base every inning? Don't give me that crap that he's working on things, because that's bull.

I don't consider it "bull" at all. You have no idea what those guys do during their spring training starts. Here's a recap of his last start from Bastian:
Ubaldo Jimenez worked three innings in his third outing of the spring for the Indians. His pitch count improved with each frame: 20 (12), 19 (9) & 18 (13). Jimenez scattered three hits, gave up one run, walked two, struck out one hitter and escaped a bases-loaded jam unscathed. He stuck with mostly fastballs, splitters and sliders.

Yah, that sounds just awful.

Since some on here seem to think the sky is falling, here's an article about what should a bright spot on this team: http://www.waitingfornextyear.com/20...os-santana-be/

Ubaldo Jimenez was horrible again today.
He goes 3 2/3 innings giving up six earned runs, five hits and walked four. His spring ERA now stands at 9.31.

I think frustration over the Browns off season is seeping in to peoples thoughts about the Indians. Can we at least wait until the season starts before claiming the sky is falling?

I ing hate the Browns so much right now.

But I feel like the Indians will be alright. No need to lose sleep over some meaningless spring training games. I read something interesting today that Ubaldo was upset with his situation in Colorado and said Cleveland feels more like home. The article said it was because CarGo and Tulo got HUGE contracts and he didn't. Cleveland is still the 2nd best team in the Central

Not really. Two different entities. This is yearly for me regarding the Tribe. As long as Daddy NoBucks Dolan owns this franchise they won't have a snowballs chance in Hell of winning a title. That along with the fact that that they don't stand much of a chance vs a loaded Detroit team would be the reason for me being down on them.

Fair enough, although I don't think you can deny the overall attitude towards Cleveland sports is very dour.

I do find it interesting that you refer to Dolan as "DaddyNoBucks", yet also blast the move where he added salary to try to win now.

I agree that, except for the Cavs, my attitude toward Cleveland sports is pretty negative. It's pretty easy to see that Dan Gilbert has a plan in place to win.

As far as the "adding salary" comment...if you're referring to the Ubaldo trade, that was made out of desparation, imo. I look at the "stellar" additions of guys like Casey Kotchman, Derek Lowe and the useless Grady Sizemore as "nickel & dime" type moves that this front office is famous for.

Yeah they were talking about this on the radio. I wonder if this is a trend, or just a one year phenomenon? Either way, it's indefensible if true (the organization has already come out and denied the accuracy of the numbers--at least they're paying DiBiasio well).

Ubaldo pitched 4 innings today allowing just one earned run with one walk and four strikeouts. His fastball was also up to 95 MPH, which is an improvement from last week...

The fans need to stay away from the park this season.
Show that cheap S.O.B. that the program is no longer going to be put up with.

Not a shock, they need outfield help. He can't really play the outfield now but it's a step in the right direction.

Weirdly enough, signing Bad Vlad might not be a bad idea. The Indians desperately need righthanded bats and Guerrero's is still a pretty good one. He hit .290 last year; how many guys on last year's Tribe topped that? Vlad is still a pretty good clutch hitter, too.

If the Indians can get Vlad 350 at bats, and I believe they will, he'll be worth it.

Heck, Vlad could be dead and buried for six years, and he'd still be a better hitter than a live Matt La Porta.

If I saw the Dolan brothers stuck in traffic on the highway in wheelchairs, I would go to Chipotle.

I'd be fine with the Tribe signing Vlad. Really, can he be any worse than what they have now?

Jack Hannahan has won the starting spot at third base. Lonnie Chisenhall, along with Matt LaPorta, has been sent down to Columbus.

Wasn't shocked by this one is a big bust while the other was rushed to the show, while both are butchers with the glove.

Would you be willing to wager on this? Tribe wins 63 games and you don't post for a year. They win 62 or less I won't post for a year. Deal?
