The Ohio LongHorns are the OHIO STATE CHAMPIONS. If you want to be called a state Champion then play in the Nations dedicated tournament that is held every year and win it,, Congrats to the Longhorns,
USSSA and CABA both have "Ohio State" Championships also. So technically there are 3 Ohio State Champions every year.
They might have that title but they are not the top team in Ohio....Everyone knows the the top teams from the state were playing elsewhere....But congrats on the tourney win. Always nice to win a tourney.

If you can show me where anyone said they were the top team in Ohio, I would appreciate that. Of course, no one did. This must have hit a nerve with some people.
All that was said is that they are playing good ball right now, they are a young team and they won the Nations Ohio Baseball Championship. Hopefully in the future, if they can continue to improve, they can be considered among the best of the best in the region.

Sorry dude, post #10, you said "state champions". If you state something like that you are gonna get some flak over it.
And clearly the other tournament is missing the Longhorns. It is what it is. Call the teams all garbage or whatever you prefer to do. The coach put this team together this year, it's the first year of it's existence. Hopefully, they can stay together, avoid the headaches that plague many teams, get better and compete in the next year or two at these other premier tournaments.
Bottom line is, the thread was titled what the tournament is called and not done in order for people to come on and run down the teams involved. Maybe in the future we can get these teams on the field and settle it there, where it belongs.
Didn't mean to knock any of the teams, just saying that a number of the KNOWN top teams in Ohio didn't compete in this tournament, and for good reason. They were at top tourneys.

Exactly, you won a tournament called the "Ohio State Championship", doesn't mean you should go around claiming you're the top team in Ohio. You just won a tournament that was called that. When you gather all of the top teams in Ohio and have one big tournament and win it, go right ahead and say that.

Hey genius, if you are going to chime in- try and read all of the posts first before you type. We settled this already.
Then tell them to come. No one is running away from them. They would have all they could handle this weekend.
The sharks played in the 16u last week and won . It's a good win if you win there are good players on all these teams . Can these team beat the Flames or Sharks , Ohio Elite or Custom x ... Sure anyone can win one game . But if you win a championship at that level your a good team .
Why don't all teams from Ohio play in a Ohio State Championship, Can be USSSA, Nations, Caba, It doesnt matter, but if all the teams from Ohio play in it then this could be considered a Top Elite Tournament too.
good luck gettting a single tourney with best teams in ohio at 15u (or any other age. only way to out best 64 / 32 / 16 teams is is to qualify from other tournaments. Sounds like a great idea, just not likely. By 16u, very to good teams are playing in tournaments that players can be seen by colleges. they are Jr to be at that point and focus changes dramatically from winning tournaments to getting players being seen. when i coached 14u and below, we spent total effort (minus getting kids hurt of course) on winning tournaments. At 15u focus changed to being seen by colleges. at 16u and beyond, that is primary focus. We set up kids to pitch / play in front of lots of colleges and if a certain player expresses interest in a certain college, we try to make that happen for him (can't do every college for every kid of course) . We try to win every game and would love to win tournaments, just not the focus
