Maybe not during the regular season but they play the tougher teams when they win State or make a deep run.
Not really. Maine South, Wheaton-Warrenville, South Downers Grove, and Mount Carmel are almost never in the same classification, and when they have been, and have faced East St. Louis they've blasted them. Wheaton beat East St. Louis 26-0 in 07. Last year Maine South and Mount Carmel were in 8A while East St. Louis was in 7A.
That's what happens when you have 8 classifications for about 530 teams. The system doesn't do a whole lot when it comes to figuring out the best team in the state.
I'd much rather drive to Cincy for the Ohio Region 4 championship game than drive to Champaign for the Illinois state championship games.
To answer the question, will ESL come callin on the Buckeye State again? I would say maybe, but not in SWO or should I say REGION 4. I am sure that Elder would play them as would the MIDDIES. I bet they hate some purple now.
They'll end up playing St. Ed's and get smacked just like they did vs. the cincinnati teams.
If they go to columbus, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stick to Davidson or Coffman and don't go scheduling another suburban school on a down year like Herbie did to STA vs. Upper Arlington.

UA was an embarassment. People down here think they were a top team.
Yes...they beat O'Fallon 27-14. They travel to Wheaton-Warrenville South this week. W-WS beat them 26-0 in the semis in 2007 so this will be a big test.

STA is nothing but a small college, much the same as Oak Hill Academy in hoops. Accepting mutiple transfers for Junior and Senior seasons is a joke and you know it.

Oh no. Stop it. You're hurting my feelings.
When you can't beat someone you resort to diminishing their accomplishments. There isn't a team in Ohio that wouldn't get smashed by STA.
I haven't seen a bigger bunch of whiners than the Ohio crowd. Whining about STA killing Upper Arlington. Whining about a few transfers. Whining this. Whining about that.

LOL...as opposed to you who constantly takes time out of his busy stat-laced schedule to troll other state's football boards, for no other purpose than to stroke yourself over the awesomeness of STA.
If you're comfortable knowing that the rest of the country mocks your methods and still self-fellating over your team, then have at it.
Hey, hasn't STA gotten players from the Miami area? If so, doesn't that make you a Miami team? Just a little bit?
More importantly, don't keep us all in suspense! How;s that transfer pipeline looking? Are you breaking out your shortest miniskirt and sexiest fishnet stockings to get those gaps filled for next season?
Wait, I forgot. You're the guy who calls the players who have actually been enrolled at STA since day one "whiners" if they get upset that Coach Smith is bending over for yet another <<fill in the number of stars>> player who "happens" to show up to take a starting position.
STA recruits like mad. But FWIW, they all do. The transfer rules (or lack thereof) in Fla are a complete joke. Best kids transfer to the better programs EVERY YEAR. You know it. Great team, no doubt. But would be ihntersted to know the % of kids that started in STA feeders that are "producers" on the current STA team.
I agree, I misspoke on Booker T and NW. They have had good years.

I could care less about UA getting killed by STA. You really don't think the FACT that STA gets multiple transfers every year helps in their domination of football? STA is the football version of Oak Hill Academy. If you can root and have fun rooting for a team like that then by all means, go for it....

I read forums because I'm interested in what other people are saying. If I can add something then I do. Most of the time I'm the only one who has any clue about what he's talking about re: STA.
I know that people like you prefer to get their info from clueless hacks who have no insight into the issue they are discussing. But me? I like to get it from informed people.

That's one classy program.
You mean player. As in one?
Yes. Kids who have been at STA since their freshmen year, think they are owed a starting spot and transfer when they don't get it are whiners. I absolutely stand by that.
I just found out that one of our student trainers transferred in from Ohio in the summer. She's a junior. I know what you're thinking and you're right. It's shameful. I'm embarrassed.

We don't follow the traditional feeder system that they have in Ohio. We get the majority of our kids from several parish schools. But we get our student body from something like 78 different middle schools.
This is the #1 problem with the criticism coming from the concha's of the world. They expect everybody to follow the traditional, rigid Catholic feeder system that Ohio has. If you don't do it like X and Moeller than you're a rogue program.

See. This is yet another example of a guy just making it up as he goes. He has no insight into the situation whatsoever. But that doesn't stop him from making broad judgments regardless.
To say that STA gets multiple transfers every year is laughable given that they had only one in 2008 and that was probably the best team in school history and that player was only a part-time starter.
As for this year your assumption that success is contingent on these transfers is mistaken. It's often an assumption made by people who have never seen us play and simply read criticisms on message boards to make up their minds.
The attacks on STA are sensationalist. To compare them to Oak Hill is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. That's bad even for an uninformed Ohio poster. And that's saying a lot.
