Stow baseball looks to make run at division title

For the past two seasons, Stow-Munroe Falls baseball coach Bryan Celik has been molding the Bulldogs the way he wants.

As he enters his third year in charge, Celik believes his team should be able to compete for the league title.

In 2013, Stow finished 15-12 overall and 5-5 in the Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division, tying for second place. Stow was the only team to defeat champion Hudson in division play, but the Explorers eliminated Stow from the Division I playoffs in the sectional final.

Celik said the Bulldogs will have plenty of experience back this season. Although Stow lost six seniors to graduation, there will be 10 seniors on the Bulldogs' roster this spring.

"The progress we've made has been pretty substantial over the last two years," Celik said. "This year has been pretty nice, because everyone knows what's expected of them. We've got quite a few three-year starters back.

"Our entire starting infield is going to be seniors this year," Celik added. "Last year, we did a much better job in one-run games. This year, we're looking to take the next step."
