That seems like a good deal for the Reds given his production. I mean, who else are they going to have bat cleanup?

I never said it was...but I gotta respect a guy who is willing to shoulder the blame.

Horrible disappointment to end the season. While the pitching was not good the last two games of the series, I blame the choke job more on mistakes in the field (Rolen obviously, Cozart today before the Grand Salami), which is uncharacteristic of the Reds, and also choking with runners on. If I counted correctly, the Reds left 21 ROB in games 4 and 5. You do not win games doing that. Ever.

Joe Votto was also a big flop IMO. The guy has been going to the plate with the approach of a lead-off hitter almost. Walks are good. High OBP is good. But you are the best hitter on the team. At some point you have to attack and drive in runs.

All-in-all good season, horribly disappointing, but we do have a lot to look forward to next year.

Props to Latos on that. He wanted to pitch good more than any of us probably wanted him to. Posey absolutely destroyed that ball and it was the ONLY time all series he hurt the Reds.

For sure. The guy still has plenty left in the tank. He was huge for the Reds this year.

Hopefully next year we'll see Votto attack again. You could just tell that his knee wasn't 100%.

The Reds blew a lot of chances, but ultimately losing Cueto was a HUGE loss to overcome as well. Game 4 was never close and that situation never would have happened if not for his loss.

This group of players will never win. Get rid of them all and start completely over. Best bet IMO.

It's time for Rolen to hang it up, but what a career. I wish it could have ended better for him.

Who all do we have locked up long-term besides Bruce, Votto, and Phillips?

I'd like to have Mat locked down for the next five, at least.

Still feel sick to my stomach about the loss, probably not going to be able to watch any more of the playoffs. Washington and STL were both beatable. Ugh

Hopefully that is the last time Stubbs, Valdez and Cairo put on a Reds uniform. Really have to get a better bench for next year THAT CAN HIT as well as eliminate the black hole of Drew Stubbs. The Twins would probably take a Leake/Stubbs deal for Denard Span because they want young pitching, although imo the Reds would be giving up too much in that situation. I really just want Stubbs gone

Is there room for all those guys? I feel like the bullpen is strong enough already and they should focus on adding starting pitching depth. You can't count on all five guys going completely injury free again, and Redmond is not going to be good enough if they need to use a 6th starter for an extended period of time. There is Cingrani though

I felt worse Tuesday because I knew that it was going to be awfully tough to win after blowing that opportunity. I was correct. Plus I felt so bad for Homer, who honestly looked better on Tuesday than he probably did during his no-hitter. He was at least facing a real team instead of the Pirates.

If the Cardinals win tomorrow, it's going to be even worse. Lead the division all second half and they end up advancing further in the playoffs. Still STL's bítch

For sure. It's insane to think but I agree Homer probably pitched better Tuesday than in his no-hitter.

It's a sad day. The season is over. On to next year.

Go Reds.
