D-7 Region 25 Dalton 11-0 vs. Windham 9-2

A good match a NC Hoover Memorial Stadium/Don Hertler Sr. Field.
This should be an interesting game. I may be bias, but I think the Bulldogs prevail in this one against a good Bombers squad.
When you look at the schedules of both teams, I feel Daltonís competition in the WCAL and their out of league games (Fairless & Garaway) makes them more battle tested.

Windham's schedule is really weak compared to Dalton.
Bulldogs is a rout.

I have seen both teams play, Dalton has a really good running attack... they used it well to bury Mathews... Windham can also run and mix things up a bit... Size wise both teams match up pretty well. Dalton had Mathews down 34-0 at halftime, I don't see a running clock coming into play in this game until very late or not at all. It's gonna be alot of Spencer Horst and Phillip Miorca the whole night.... Dalton should prevail, my prediction, Dalton 34 Windham 18

Dalton is stout up front and has a very solid rb in Spencer Horst, he is not flashy or a track star, but is shifty, runs hard and is patient. They have a couple other backs that spell him and are solid as well - all are good receivers as well. Qb is athletic and can run. They are a run first team, but are not one dimensional and can throw when they need to. Defensively they have been very good all year, especially stout against the run with really good pursuit.
Know anything about for Windham?

It is decent, not as good as they are against the run, but solid. They have improved as the year has gone on and their d line gets quite a bit of pressure. They have god speed at LB.

I can assure you, the Bombers have NOT seen anything like they'll see this Friday!!! The Bulldogs are solid, ALL around.... This one is over EARLY!!!! IMO...... Good Luck to both, and for an injury free game............

I don't know if they still run this but Dalton use to Be a Dive Option team/ but will run P/A off that and will run some counters and they have ran a little spread where they pass and or run designed QB runs.

For Windham if they want to keep this game close they have to have a passing game.

We do have a pass game, we got some speed at the skill positions. Now if we have to pass 25-35 times no we won't win. We are balanced, I think its gonna go one of two ways. Either we get blown off the field or its gonna be closer than people think. The best team Windham played this year was Grand Valley, so no were not really battled tested..

Major X Factor for Windham will be the ability to get the ground game going a little bit and see if they can put Soph. QB Blaze Angle in position to make a few plays in the air. The unique offense they run allows them to scheme good looks in the passing game out of the Wing, something that can be tough to defend because you just don't see it much. Angle has good instincts and the ability to get the ball to a few playmakers on the end, the ability to hit a few of these will be huge for the bombers.

One thing that could and should help Dalton, is that one of their assistant coaches played in Perry’s wing T under Wakefield and knows all the ins and outs of the offense.

Windham is Rittman/Waynedale in the WCAL. This is going to get ugly in a hurry. People don't realize how good the WCAL is. 3 teams make the playoffs, 3 teams likely in regional finals.

I don't see anyone here questioning the strength of the WCAL, having 3 teams make the post season is a respectable feat for any league/conference. BUT everyone or most on here keep saying this game is going to be a blowout or "to get ugly in a hurry", as BeachBison just said. I will respectfully disagree... Dalton crushed Mathews 61-13 last week, Mathews is in the Northeastern Athletic Conference with Windham, and Windham beat Mathews 41-14 and only losing two games to Garrettsville and Grand Valley. I have never said Dalton is going to lose this game or Windham is going to win, but Windham can throw different things at Dalton. Dalton did not just come out and run all over Mathews, Mathews were able to slow them down to a degree where Dalton's drives ate a ton of time off the clock, and Mathews line is tiny. Windham's players will match up with Dalton's size wise. I think Spencer Horst will be slowed down some, while Windham will either attempt to goto the air or run the ball, the game will be much more interesting then the Dalton and Mathews game.

I️ think this will be a decent game. I️ have not seen any Dalton posters predicting anything at all on here. I️ do have to take a little exception you you saying that Matthews slowed them down. It was 54-0 in the third quarter....

One thing that is for certain is that the Bombers will hit you and battle. Is that enough?

In my own sense Mathews did slow them down, it was not 60-0 at halftime like I really thought would be the case... As long as Windham can keep Dalton driving the better, so no one or two plays and scores... I am looking forward to seeing what Windham can do....

After seeing Windham beat Lisbon last week, I'd expect their physical play to be enough to make this a very good game. I think it comes down to Windham's passing game. They can run the ball, but it sounds like Dalton is pretty good against the run. Looking at their first playoff game, 4-13 passing won't get it done for Windham this week. If they can clean that up, they'll be there right at the end IMO.

Good luck Bombers!

If Dalton can read their keys they will have no problem with windham, Garaway use to run the Wing -T Multiple times and most years Dalton shut us Down, and if Dalton can completely shut Down Garaway's high octane passing attack, yes we went 5-5 but we could of been 7-3 or 8-2 no team other then Dalton and Indian Valley (still playing) could completely stop our passing attack.

Dalton wins 42-21

I’m expecting a tough battle. Will the cold be a factor? Could be in the passing game and holding on to the football.

This Region is way down this year. CH and Dalton are very good. All the other teams were mediocre at best. That being said. CH and Dalton both win this week comfortably, setting up a classic in the Regional final. That is a game I would want to see for sure!

The game went kind of how I thought it would. I was a little concerned when Dalton got the opening kickoff, which looked like an onside, but was told later it was supposed to be a squib kick, and had to turn it over on downs.
Then it was a feeling out process. Dalton got its offense going and couldn’t be stopped for the most part. Windham had a few nice gains, but couldn’t get into the end zone except once in the first half.
The second half was all Dalton. Congrats to the Bombers on a nice season. I thought their kids played hard and were physical.
