I'm not vested like you, but I truly do hope the kid is able to return in the next week or two. It would be a shame for Massillon to have to play without their QB when they need him the most.

Doesn’t look like after 2 playoff wins against 2 non contenders that The Tigers are just that a contender. All indications are Hoban takes it to the Tigers. The streak marches on toward 5 DECADES!!

Sad way for the game to end. No excuse for such poor sportsmanship.

Let it be known when Whitehall was acting like a bunch of thugs at the end of the game and there WHOLE team ran on the field, not one Tiger player ran on the field.

I would think with the game called at 42 seconds because of unsportsmanlike play that the OHSAA may get involved. Whitehall may have some more penalties coming their way.

Solid play from the backup, sophomore QB for the Tigers.

Sometimes you win with someone who won't lose the game.

Congrats to the Tigers. Whitehall...no class. Embarrassing. No excuse for that kind of behavior.

What did Whitehall do at the end of the game? Had to be bad for the referees to end the game.

On the extra point it was a bad snap and as the Massillon kid was covering it up the Whitehall kid nailed him in the back while he was on the ground. The refs threw a flag and the Whitehall team went nuts and started to get in the Massillon kids faces. Then the whole Whitehall team ran on the field and started pointing
at the Massillon sidelines, taking there jerseys off and throwing helmets. The refs continued to throw flags. Finally the refs met in the middle of the field with the Superintendent of Massillon and I assume the super from WY and the refs motioned the Whitehall team to there locker room.

From what I could gather from the radio broadcast after Massillon threw a TD pass with 42 seconds left from the WH 9, there was a bad snap on the PAT some pushing and shoving ensued, then their whole team came on the field looking to fight.

Apparently Whitehall cleared the benches after the PAT was botched with 0:42 left. Refs sent them to the locker room.

I don't know if they were mad that Massillon scored late (which seems dumb, while unlikely it wasn't fully out of reach, turnover and an onside kick and Whitehall can still pull it off), or if they feel they were provoked.

I wasn't there, and am only seeing info from one side, so who knows

Last play of the game, and bad snap led to the holder falling on it. WH player kneed him in the back of the head, Massillon player shoved a WH player, then they entire WH bench, including coacches, rushed the field. Multiple ejections, and the game was called.

Calling the game with time left on the clock?

Tagliabue wouldn't stand for that.

The OHSAA generally hates it too, I believe.

I remember back in '04 or '05 a game was stopped in the second half due to lightning (with a tie score to boot) and never completed, the OHSAA lost their minds.

I think the 2001, 2002 and 2005 teams would beat this Tiger team IMHO. I think 2012 could give them a run for their money too.

I don't think anyone is going to running clock Massillon in 2018. After tonight I think many need to look at TCC as a team that could very well get in the way of this Massillon/Hoban matchup we have all been waiting to see.

Warren Harding vs Shaw ? That's one I recall that fits that description... Shaw was at WGH, game was tied at or near the half... lightning delay... Shaw wouldn't or couldn't finish the game that night (too much lightning that night probably, don't recall now) and refused to return to Warren from East Cleveland the next day to resume/finish the game, so it went in the books as a tie game. Might be the last tie football game in OHSAA in recent years since, unless someone recalls another one.

I remember a Perry game in 1988 where the Youngstown East coach pulled his team off the field and they walked out of stadium, got on their buses and left with several minutes left and it was only 12-7 Perry. Apparently he was upset with an interference call and several others from the second quarter on and told his team to leave.

In 1988 Lake was playing Canton South at their place. It was week 7 of the season and Lake had given up only 15 points in those 7 games. Lake was beating South 16 to 0 and South had not done much the whole game. There was over two minutes left when the first fight broke out. The next play another fight broke out and moved all over the field. The refs and coaches got this fight under control. The next play the third fight started and moved all over the field. When everything settled down the refs called the game with 2 minutes left and Lake won the game 16 to 0.

More then likely TCC will play Winton Woods in the semis if they both win next week.
No way the 2012 beats this team, the D in 2012 was average at best.

I'm reading this on Youngstown vindy archives. According to the newspaper, East had a 7-6 lead with a few seconds left. Perry missed a FG and time apparently expired. However East was penalized 5 yards for using too many time outs. As Perry lined up to rekick East walked off the field, leaving Perry to walk into the end zone. 12-7 Perry was 5 seconds left. Again I wasnt there , just regurgitating the Vindy write up. I remember reading it then and thought WTF. But your account appears a little different
