A word for the Cardinal Stritch cheerleaders. Don't let the Lutheran East cheerleaders stand at and past midcourt to try to intimidate you. At the regional final game they did this. The other teams cheerleaders couldn't even greet their players. Congrats to the one cheerleader who did her cartwheel right past them. Talk about a bunch of rude kids....its a game .

Lutheran is a talented team with young players and some height, Cardinal Stritch has very good guard play and solid post starting and off the bench. Should be an interesting based on styles of play.

Lutheran likes to press and get out and go, Cardinal plays great 1/2 defense and executes in the 1/2 court. Has shown problems with press lately in the tournament will see if they adjust.

If it turns into a track meet, favors Lutheran, but if Cardinal can make Lutheran execute against 1/2 court defense and execute then CS can will. If over score is over 80 Lutheran wins if under Cardinal Stritch.

Intimidate an Eastside girl, even a suburban private school girl? lol. Better tell the Lutherans to wear their vests. The Lutherans are leaving here, taking the Little Sisters of the Poor with them. Heat got too hot. Forget the basketball game. Lets have us some WWE. I'll bring the popcorn.

I'm sure the Lutheran Cheerleaders are terrific reps, what a goofy thing to say on a message board.

I saw the LE cheerleaders go up against the Garfield Heights cheerleaders who are no slouches. It was memorable. The Lutherans are really good.

If they have had trouble with the press than they are in trouble. That will be huge in this game. That press will make it a free for all and a track meet.Got to beat that press just to get into a half court set.

Pressing teams in the normal flow of a game have not been an issue for Stritch. Where they have struggled the last two games is when they have had big leads (14 and 24 point leads) and are trying to play keep away. The other teams were desperate, playing with no fear of fouling and Stritch was slowing up the ball after breaking pressure. When they are still attacking they are very effective scoring off the press.

The number of turnovers in those games have not been terrible it has been the timing that makes them stand out. On the broadcast they said they average less than 10 turnovers a game and they had 13 vs Coldwater (I remember 2 of them on offensive fouls and one where a player stepped on the sideline setting of for a 3). I am not sure how many TO's they had vs Grandview Heights but think it was between 10 and 12, with a couple bad TO's that people remember, but the number was not high. Vs Genoa they had 6 TO's in a double OT game.

To give LE/Cleveland area fans some background for a common opponent from last season, Stritch beat Cornerstone Christian last year by 11 after being down 10 after 1 and 12 at the half. They outscored Cornerstone by 23 in the 2nd half mainly taking advantage of an aggressive trap/press.

Stritch is not a deliberate team. They like to push the ball and average 69 ppg, but are more disciplined than most running teams and do a good job of picking their spots. They are very good of the defensive end giving up 43 ppg.

I expect a great game between two very good battle tested teams.
