DI Walsh District Tournament Draw - Bracket, Seeds, Disucssion

Thought I'd open this thread for discussion on the upcoming tournament.

I will post a link to a bracket/schedule/etc. as soon as I get it.

For now, here are the Seeds and How they voted:

DI Walsh University Girls Basketball District Seed Voting Matrix

DI Walsh University Girls Basketball District Tournament Bracket, Schedule, Seeds

Best District from top to bottom in the state? I mean a 17-1 team is the 6th seed

Leopard nation-Louisville is a decent team ,but that 17-1 is misleading. Canfield is probably the best team Louisville beat.
They were blown out by a average Glenoak team and only beat a bad Lake team by 2.I get that that was the 1st and 2nd games of the year. However they haven't played anyone good.Carrollton is decent ,but the NBC is very weak.

I do find it funny that Garfield voted Louisville number 1 and Wackerly voted Hoover. The only 2 to not vote for McKinley as #1

Akron Garfield probably went by record. GlenOak did beat McKinley but not Hoover if I remember correctly. So why would either be funny? Both realistic in my opinion. And didn't Carrollton beat Jackson?

Garfield probably did go by record without looking at the competition.Louisville reminds me of Barberton last year with a great record against weak competition.Glenoak probably picked Hoover because Wackerly is their ex coach. His former player is the current coach.Nothing like politics in high school sports with that one.I have no idea if Jackson lost to Carrollton, but what's the point?I did say Carrollton is decent.

That Glen Oak loss cost the Leopards in the seedings!

At least they have another chance to show everyone how good they are!

Tough district....3-5 teams could win it, but I'm hoping that the lady pups come out on top.

Totally agree! I really think Massillon, Barberton and Garfield are the only teams that won't possibly get a w in the tournament. Lake is the 8th seed and have given the #1 and 2 seeds a scare in their recent games.

CC Louisville definitely can prove themselves with a good run.I wouldn't be surprised if they did either.

Garfield pulled names out of a hat is more likely... they put Green and Jackson at the bottom of the list.

Yeah its a conspiracy between Wackerly and Hoover. Or maybe it's the fact we swept them and McKinley didnt?

But didn't McKinley sweep Hoover?Wackerly knows that!Heck he was probably at both games if Glenoak was off.
I don't think Hoover cares that McKinley is 1.They both are most likely going to be in the Finals.

You're right Hoover doesn't care if McKinley is 1. Makes it more fun to knock them off.

Just was amused that you went right to a conspiracy theory on the vote.

Not a conspiracy, but not shocking either. If you don't think that had something to do with his vote, you're only fooling yourself. I'm sure someone can find last year's draw and I'll bet Hoover picked Glenoak. Again no conspiracy, but let's not act like it doesn't happen. It didn't make a difference, so it's not a conspiracy.

I think whoever makes it out of Walsh will be playing in regional final..probably against Solon or Mentor. Then again Twinsburg could be a force coming out of Euclid.. stranger things have happened..does anyone know if Twinsburg has played Solon yet this year?

Anyways, here's my predictions just for fun:

Region 1

Walsh:
McK with trifecta over Hoover

SVSM:
Stow over Canfield

Perry:
Mentor over Chagrin Falls

Euclid:
Solon over Twinsburg

Fed trophy is the only one McKinley gets this year.

On second thought the runner up gets a trophy so they have that to look forward to I guess.

Who knows?? With the parity in the league this year, it could be 2 totally different teams in the finals. lol

I'm going to go with Hoover over McK in the Finals. Hoover looked very good against Jackson. Great pressure defense. To beat Hoover you have to handle their man to man press and half court pressure D. It's hard to beat a Great team 3 times in the same season. Good Luck All. Should be fun to watch.

Whatsupdoc picked Hoover for something? How shocking lol... Hoover needs to worry about getting there first just like McKinley does. Neither is a given.

Green spanked Louisville in the 1st round 57-40.Not surprised they lost ,but didn't think it would be such wide of margin.

Were you there?

McKinley could have scored over 100 points if the coached wanted too ! They played everyone on the bench during the whole game.

Nice win Lake!
This district is like the federal league tournament, plus Massillon.
