Massillon Perry 48, Columbus Eastmoor 0
A fumble on the first play from scrimmage was an omen of what was to come for Columbus Eastmoor. Travis Kovach pounced on the loose pigskin and Kevin Woodard capped the 31 yard drive wih a 4 yard run. Perez's kick was good and it was 7-0 Perry. Midway thru the second quarter the Panthers put together a 60 yard scoring drive as QB Bob Perez hit end Joe Ceretta on a 24 yard pass. The kick was good and it was 14-0 heading into the band show.
The panthers scored three times in the third quarter, first on a 2 yard run by Josh Shimek. This was two plays after Shimek had rambled 64 yards to the Eastmoor 4 yard line to set up the score. On their next possession, Perry backup QB Anthony Swick hit hb Mike Schlieden on an 11 yard pass. Shimek's kick was good and it was 28-0 Perry. Late in the third quarter, Kevin Woodard took off down the home sideline on a 60 yard touchdown run. The try for two was no good. 34-0 Perry. The Panthers added two more scores in the final stanza. HB Jason Larson scored from 40 yards out and Marc Englebach bulled in from the 11 making the final 48-0.
Perry starts league play next Friday as they travel to Memorial Stadium to take on the Vikings from North Canton.
