It's pretty much as I imagined it would be for the Queen City Elite 25: the majority are D1 High School girls, aside from one selection each from CCD, Summit, and Seven Hills. Oh and New Richmond with the height advantage girl.
Really! I will be honest, and I'm not trying to bash anyone, but I saw the Schafer girl play in Reynoldsburg and she didn't impress me at all. Sometimes girls can play against inferior talent but then when asked to perform against top notch talent just can't get it done. Just my opinion. Don't mean to offend anyone.

If you are not trying to bash anyone, then why do it? Also, you may not get an accurate impression of a player by looking at one scrimmage. It would be better to look at her stats from last season:

14.4 PPG (#7 in conference)
42.8% shooting (92 for 215)

Looks very good to me. She played in the best league in the Dayton area.
I am just saying, she played against teams like Reynoldsburg, Mason, Hathaway Brown, and others and looked highly overmatched. She looked overmatched and very nervous, that's all I'm sayin. She even shot a free throw that's was a line drive and hit the front of the rim, never had a chance of going in. Maybe she will get better as the year progresses. Again, just constructive criticism-take it for what it's worth.
I said she may get better as the year progresses. She played very tentative with the ball in her hands and looked scared. Everyone else on that Fairmont team plays with a great deal of confidence-that is why they have been where they've been. I saw a few of them getting frustrated. That is my opinion and I'm entitled to that.
Stats are so overrated, some kids play great against less comp and put up great numbers, but against better comp their true skill level comes out. Watch a kid during the summer, AAU, etc when there's only one Division per say, that way a kid averaging 20 in Division III-V has to show what they can do against Division I players.
You also have the "who they play with factor" some kids look great playing with good talent, but when they have to be the primary player they don't look as well. Kids even if they can't during certain parts of the year, needs to seek out the best comp when they can so they can be tested and see where they really are since articles and ratings are so misleading.
Keep it real with the kids TODAY, so they won't be confused to TOMORROW when they don't see the offers their stats should dictate.

Agree. Stats have to be interpreted, correctly.
But in the case of Shafer, I would sure pay more attention to a season's worth of stats than the opinion of a person who saw her in one scrimmage.
Shafer put those stats up while playing in the to conference in the region. She also put up bigger stats in her aau season.
The role she will play at Fairmont will be a lot more limited than what she did at Wayne. She will be the 4th option and will probably have to adjust to that early on. Once she is acclimated to the team she will be an extremely effective outside threat and will get a ton of run outs. Watching a kid, new to a team, play against the best players in Ohio for the first time is a very hard way to judge a players abilitity.
