With the 2012-2013 season starting next week, anyone have a breakdown of each division of the GWOC conference, and players to watch this season. Obviously Fairmont is in a class of its own, but what other team in the league can make some noise this season. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Sorry User, I see Beavercreek as having their worst team in some time. They lost a lot to graduation and the freshman won't be ready for a while. I look for Creek to be pretty solid when this years Freshman are juniors.

No problem. Creek graduated two starters. Springboro graduated nine players. Northmont lost most of their starters as well. And Wayne's best player transferred to Fairmont.
Creek will be competitive with the bottom five teams on your list.

I agree with user13. I believe creek will do better than execpted. They have some freshman coming in that will help them. The freshman will take a few bumps down the road. But they will be a stronger team
Springboro still has a major D1 player along with few other returning varsity kids. They also have a very strong freshman.
Northmont has a move in who is one of the best post players in the area when playing her game.
Wayne should have some nice talent with Wabler Miller Palma and Tunstall but they typically have some coaching issues and fail to beat teams with equal talent.

What is your prediction for Creek's regular season record this season?
Actually, it might be a pretty rough year for Northmont. That move-in post player has moved back to Lima.
Also, Northmont's better players in the senior class have decided to not play basketball this year...one because she is a D1 softball recruit and she has hurt her knee (torn meniscus) and does not want to risk injuring it any further by playing basketball. The other I am not sure why she quit.
These two were the only experienced varsity players on Northmont's roster.
That may change some of your perspectives on Northmont.

In the Central, I expect Fairmont and Centerville at the top and Springfield at the bottom. Beavercreek, Northmont, and Wayne will battle for third place.
Springboro lost a lot to graduation, so they might not be able to hold first place in the south.
Creek finishing 12-10 didn't make me too wrong. Northmont losing the transfer and Wayne crashing and burning did me in. I thought Wayne would beat creek twice and thought the northmont game would be a split.

I know - was just teasing you a bit.
Interesting season for Creek. Not a top team, but consistent. All the losses were to teams with winning records. And three of their W's were over teams with winning records (Wilmington, Sidney, and Miamisburg). Their biggest disappointments were losing to Alter and Thurgood Marshall.
Almost another disappointment tonight at Wayne, with the Beavers pulling it out in overtime.
