As much impact as Lippe or Christopher even at his weight?
I mean I believe that it is possible, but that would be incredible.

So who are the players Lake has to keep an eye on. Typically you all are really solid so Im assuming last year was an exception to the rule.

It looks like the QB position is still not filled for 2012. Looking at the roster from last year Lake has 5 players returning this year listed at the QB position. Criswell, Nolan, Mcnally, Leopold, and Miller. I know Nolan was a candidate for starting last year but Peach won the job. Any thoughts on the Sophomore Adam Dadrich starting this year?

Starting QB 2012 season

IMO....and of course, time will tell, I think Nolan will be the guy!

Should be a good couple years for the Streaks!

BTW, thanks to whomever donated $$$ to help fix up the youth field. Getting an asphalt track & new sod is huge. The field got destroyed last year with all the rain!

I wouldn't consider that likely. Dadich has some growing to do. That said however, I think he has tremendous potential.

don't think there was a donor...LYF hasn't had a project in a few years, Im sure they have been saving for this project.

There were donated funds....see lakebluestreaksfootball.com

It was partial donation and partial LYF.....At any rate, the field needed completely redone!

What about your offensive line? our defense will be revamped and super aggressive. We will have just about the same O-line as last year, mostly experianced seniors. Our QB has been a strong back-up for the last three seasons, he has played with this O-line and most of the offense for his entire football career.
We will be watching that #45 RB closely.

7 on 7

I saw on the school calendar that Lake will be going 7 on 7 at Massillon and at New Philly. There is also one listed as, "to be announced".
Any comments?

Just a general observation, but have seen and talked to many of the players in last few weeks at the Y, but it seems as if many of these kids look much bigger than last year. I heard the reviews on off season weight training mixed, but also hearing the turnout has been tremendous and much higher than last year. Saw the Onaybi kid the other day. He looks like he has really hit the weight room. Kid has tremendous potential. Could be a real force on the dline this year with his size and quickness. Heard Bowling Green looking at him. Blasiole just looks like a beast to me. If he stays healthy, look out. Seems to be very strong leadership and committment this year. Still early, but these are just some initial thoughts from talking to some of the kids. Seems to be a togetherness. I think last year was a real motivator for these underclassmen. Next couple of years could be real fun. Hope everyone having a great summer. We are getting close. Two a days just around the corner. Rock'em

Two good test.
Good luck this year, I think Lake is the team to beat in the Fed this year.
I have them number 1 of my top three.
By the way, we have the tigers week two this year. Maybe you can update us on the tigers after your 7 on 7. LOL

Good luck again

Go Eagles

Best bet for that is Traikoff. There is alot of potential for last years freshmen squad. And mark these words. When this year's sophs and juniors are juniors and seniors we could have a repeat of two years ago.

On another note, I heard Blasiole ran a 4.37 at OSUs underclassmen camp. Any validity in that? If so, that's pretty darn good

Really? Now you guys at Lake are really going way beyond idol worship at this point (and I realize it's just one guy posting). Interestingly enough, there is no way to check this. All the college camps hold those times very close to their vest. They are all hand-held, which means the actual time is usually about 3 to 4 tenths slower. But.....a parent would know that time (I know my son's from the Akron camp).

Oh wait....if that is truly what his time was at the camp, it will surely be on his recruiting page ( I know I would certainly put it on there for my son).

He is a very talented athlete, and I look forward to the battles in the next two years. I know my son does, so it should be fun.

No need to get your underwear in a bunch NC. Streak was just asking a question about something he heard. Blas is fast. Let's just leave it at that for now. For my money I have been more impressed with his weight room progress especially considering his involvement in other sports. But beyond all that he is genuinely a nice kid. He's easy to cheer for.

It is true. Not only did he run a 4.37...but he actually did it twice. (Ironically I think that may be his GPA too ). Matt is absolutely the best running back I have ever seen coming through the system at Lake. If he stays healthy, HOLDS ONTO THE BALL ! Lake will be tough to stop.

I agree, potentially the best RB in the area as a junior...
BTS I did hear he is a beast in the weight room... he was already tough to bring down when he was thin which is also why he puts the ball on the ground fighting to break tackels... what do you do to fix that? tell the kid to go down sooner? no. you get him stronger and improve his ball carrying technique.

The "hold on to the ball comment" is for Matt. That is if he reads this he will know who wrote it ( However, I hope he dosen't get on here!). Love the Kid. As far as best RB in area a Junior?? He might be the best player in the area as a Junior. We will see. Hope Lake doesn't need him too much on defense.

His weight room performance has exceeded expectations, no doubt. He may very well start the season near 200lbs and with the speed and strength we know is there, well, it should be alot of fun to watch. But like I keep harping on, our linemen NEED to get squared away!! To have a back like that wasted because you can't get out of your own way is beyond unacceptable. Move your butts Horses!!!

Yeah GEfan, it would be nice to save him for toting the rock. However, at least this year his value may be the other way around. Time will tell.
