Private/public, same difference, it still applies. If you haven't noticed, Wayne is D1. Even though they may not be playing a D1 team, it's still high school football. I don't care how big a school is, anything can happen and still does. Youngstown Cardinal Mooney is 2-0 vs Cincinnati St. X.

Ummmmmm, again, you use the example of a private school. I am pretty sure I said those were different.

It is like saying Troy/Piqua should not play because Troy has more boys, or that Trotwood and Wayne should not play because Wayne has more boys. I do see your point but I think it is a little overblown.
You can not compare the two because the draw is completely different. You seriously do not know the differene between a public and private school?

Again, look at HOW MANY MORE BOYS. The last time I checked, Troy is not two times the size of Piqua. In fact, I think the difference is about 80 boys. That is much different than 400 boys.

If Butler, Greenville, Piqua, and Sidney each played Wayne and Centerville every year for the next 10 years, how many of those games do you think the North teams would win? '

Athletics is about competing, not playing a game you have no chance to win. That was the point. It would be different to see Wayne play a Winton Woods and Trotwood. Those teams, despite being smaller, compete on a high level. The schools I am talking about are not making the playoffs or winning their league. Big difference.

Well seeing how Greenville and Sidney consistently lose to everybody they play no matter if they are 2 divisions lower that is not a good comparision

Numbers are numbers. Private/public, those don't make any difference. Moeller plays Cardinal Mooney every year and no one thinks it's crazy. <----This comparison crushes your entire argument.

I try to be civil with you it just doesnt work. Yes I know well the difference between private and public schools but the way OHSAA counts boys doesnt split them into public and private it just separates them by the number of boys. Sure there are going to be some mismatches but there will also be some really good games. I think a prior poster put it best. Its football. Lace up and play. If you don't want your kids playing against bigger schools their is an alternatiive, its called soccer.

Cats yes you are correct, 2010 Boro lost on the road 28-13 and in 2011 lost at home 55-17.
2012 will be the 3rd time Boro plays C'ville which is a great backyard measuring stick for the Panthers!

Reed started at corner vs. the Middies on the road in the opening round of the 2011 playoff's. Very talented player with size, fluid hips coming out of the backpedal, nice matchup vs. (UC) WR-Zach Edwards you could see he is young and a bit raw but Woody will coach him up! Reed is not afraid to come up and support the run, no matter where you play him Devin will succeed!

Since Wayne vs. Centerville is such a great rivalry game, ESPN should televise this game too.

Fox Sports Ohio makes more sense than ESPN, but Wayne played Centerville on ESPNU two years ago on a Thursday night, so it wouldn't surprise me either way. Both teams are loaded with talent. I do however see the construction going on at Wayne being a problem for the tv crews.

wayne has played on espnu a few times moe, canton mc, and centerville. ive heard espn, foxsports seems as if it would run into a problem with most of the reds games being televised with the same start time. but just stating a opinion

ya i hear good things about this kid, he got in last year for a couple of snaps in mop up duty during the wayne - centerville game last year and was very raw. one thing i think us wayne fans can agree on is that wayne will use him to the best of his ability!!!!!

espn doesnt want to see two girly schools hair pull one another. They want to show high school football powerhouses and cville and wayne isnt one of them.

Reed is an athlete! but he's all about himself! I remembe walking the sidelines of our jv games and reed always getting yelled at to run the offense and stop trying to keep the ball fir himself! and he is ineligible for a year cuz his grades after bad! if you guys can coach him up to stop being a ball hog and not all about himself then he could be just as good as B. Miller!

Then why isnt wayne vs centerville not on espn every year then?? Probably because espn was fedup with these two worthless schools playing and zero ratings.

first off, centerville will lose to elder and wayne loses to winton woods. if you guys cant beat elder and winton woods, how can you beat northmont? centerville and wayne are always hyped up and then their seasons are a bust, just like this coming season. enjoy your guys beatdown.lol

Centerville and Wayne aren't being hyped up here. But some Northmont posters here sure like hyping the Bolts. Read this post just prior to last football season. Northmont didn't quite live up to this hype: http://www.yappi.com/forums/showpost...&postcount=119

It's pretty stupid for those Northmont posters to say that the Bolts would go 10-0 and then go on to win state last season. Heck, both Centerville and Wayne beat the Bolts by over 20 points last season.

Ya he will havw to change his attitude quickly if this is the case, minton will not stand for that! Hopefully a fresh start will do him good! And on another note with these other posters why so much hate and negativity against kids? As a good sports fan for wayne i respect the hell out of cville, northmont, and every other school who cares about the schedule. And who and who isnt good. Show some class as adults!

I think the only way to get him to change would be to bench him during a game or something severe, but even then i don't think he will change! He's pretty much all about himself.
