All-Stars?
What is going on with all-stars this year? Who made it? Softball is already on the website, why isn't baseball?

Very entertaining game for the fans last night, probably not so much for the parents or the coaches. Tallmadge pulled out the victory 6-5 over CF North, showing a lot of grit at the end. I liked the no quit attitude from the players. Good stuff.

Tallmadge won 14-3 in 3 1/2 innings. Lauck and Shannon hit homeruns for Tallmadge. Hood hit a homerun for South. Boyd and Burick pitched for Tallmadge. Very solid game for the Tallmadge hitters.

That was an impressive win. Tallmadge quickly adjusted to their pitcher's velocity, and remained patient. They made him come over the plate and they banged him hard. That was a fun game to watch. The Hole is such a home field advantage, great place to watch baseball and you always have a good fan turnout.

How sad that there are only 6 teams in the 11U bracket.
How many teams are in the district? 9 - 10?
And no Barberton in any baseball bracket. Don't they believe in All Stars?

Many communities are doing away with the 11 year old all stars. It weakens both the 10 and 12 year old teams.

Yes, this is correct. Last year Elyria withdrew all (3) of their teams in the 11 yr old age group, but all were re-entered this year as 12's.
This is one of the factors that Tallmadge took into consideration when looking at their All Star Selection process that was internally revised a few years ago. Many communities changed to make their 10 and 12 yr old teams stronger and either not having an 11 yr old team at all or they were weaker than in the past.

I wasn't sure how the process would work when it was first proposed, so i was a little skeptical. However, seeing it work the last few years it is obvious it is a good thing. Sometimes there are some hurt feelings over it. However, it is what is best for the kids and the league because it helps to make two competitive teams, and the 11's can still compete because other programs are doing the same thing. That was something I didn't realize, that the other programs were already doing it so it really evened the playing field.

Tallmadge 11's beat Hudson Thursday night 9-1.
They advance to play Avon in District Championship Saturday at Avon.
Tallmadge 10's will host a game Saturday versus winner of Falls North/Avon game for District Championship at 6pm.
Good Luck to both teams?
When was last time Tallmadge had 3 teams in district championship game in same year for each of the age groups?

It's been a great year for sure. I think the changes that the board made a couple of years ago are really paying off now. It's a pretty exciting time for TLL.

Looks like the 12's dropped there second game last night 13-8 to Wheelersburg.
Great run and should be proud to put up another district banner on the wall.
