I am pretty sure they are thinking of a reserved section. Everybody seems to have one and well you know we can't be different. Heard rumors there was to be a private box for Double M's of the board. You know , a box where they can watch cross country tapes during the game. I also like the handicap area and would love them to leave room for the guys who still like to stand.
In the end I may be open to anything that's done. As long as Eaton never does anything like that stupid Wildcat sound effect Franklin does.
I see that on the OHSAA site that McNick currently has an opening in week 1 of 2013 and 2014 and Fenwick has a week 1 opening starting in 2014.....would be nice to upgrade the OOC schedule if possible
It is still fun to knock it about. Imagine knowing you have McNick to open the season followed by St. Henry and then Greenville. I know Greenville isn't real strong, but it is still DII and in the GWOC. They will learn to win games. (I hope)
From what I can remember I think the Eagles return several good kids on "D".Leading the way will be Andrew Holderman,2 year starter at corner. The LB corps could be Eatons strong point this year, with Adam Slemker and Blake Reynolds returning starters and Aldin Leaker with his ath.ability should fit right in.Any word how Kyle Shepherd is and if he has decided to play. I heard that there has been a good # of kids at speed and wts. If any one has more info please post it.Its only 54 days til the Massie scrimmage,so its time to start talking FOOTBALL......Go Eagles!!
I know the pee wee teams play their games at East. Do they ever have a game on the Hs field? I think when the new stadium is built it could be a good program builder if they got to play at least one game each season on the new field. I don't think it would add any major stress on the turf.
Is Richmond still one of the 7-on-7 opponents? Some schools put too much stock into this drill but in the case of a new QB getting used to WRs, 7-on-7s could be a big help in just getting comfortable before camp.
I have not heard but would think it was still on. the 7 on 7's will be great for Billy. Still think the pass will come second and the run will be first. With Hopkins gone I'm sure we will run more.
I saw that they have a 7 on 7 at Versailles,Mon. July 19 6 pm. Versailles has all-state 1st team QB coming back. Threw for almost 3000 yds. last season. Not sure how many of his recievers are back with him though. Always want a challenge at these,it can only help!
This years team will be Junior based with a handfull of Seniors in all the right skilled spots. The OL will be 4 Jr.s and one Sr. (Possibly all Jr.s) This is all based on wether Shep is able to play on the OL. I seriously doubt that if he does play that he will be playing much DE in order to keep he healthy the whole season. He has a bright future on the pitching mound.
The backfield will showcase several backs that all have a huge upside. Which one takes the job is up in the air, but one thing is for sure they all will be on the field. Maybe we will see some two back sets this year?
The Defense will be fine, but I still see IMO that the offense will be the major factor in this years team with a "ground and pound" menatlity behind a very stout OL that will remind us all of the Jackson team that we played in 2010.
Who are the probable OL candidates and are they as big as Jackson OL from 2 yrs. ago??? I know Duffie is back, has he put put on some size? I agree with you about Shep.,just use him on offense if you have to, to reduce any further injury.Who looks to be the favorites for WR,other than Holderman and RB spots?
I figure you got Metz, Shepherd and Duffie as returners on the line. Don't know who the other juniors are. should be quite a battle for the last two spots. There maybe three if we run a tight end. Duffie is about the same size as last year, maybe a little thicker. Not sure if they will be Jackson size. I heard that some of them are following what McKee did and cutting some weight for quickness and speed. I think Ebright is done with the big slow guys and wants bigger faster and stronger. I also agree that we will be a run oriented team. It will take some time for the new line to learn to pass block. I understand their skills at this need some work.
Probabal OL -
Duffie 6'2"/225 Jr.
Phillips 6'1"/265 Jr.
Mitchell 5'10"/260 Jr.
Izzy 5'11"/225ish? Jr.
Bulach 6'0"/240 Jr.
Parkinson 5'10"/265 Jr.
Snowden 5'11"/240 Jr.
Those were just the Jr.s that have a shot at the OL. Of course there are the Sr.s who are returning who will have a major impact on the line as well. Metz and Shep for sure, and possible D. Miller who plays hard. Alot of potential there that will be fun to watch.
As far as RB's go. The talent pool is deep. Slemker-Jr., Leaker-Jr., Claybaker-Sr., A. Holderman-Sr., McKelvin-Jr., and kids who will get a good look are Beare-So., and Spears-So.
Wr.s - K. Wilson-Jr., K. Wise-Sr., A. Holderman-Sr., R. Petty-Sr., C. Caudill-Jr., and B. Reynolds-Sr. I am sure there are others as well.
LB's - Slemker-Jr., Walters-Jr., McKelvin-Jr., Sage-Jr., B. Reynolds-Sr., and don't be surprised to see A. Holderman-Sr. playing there as well.
DL - This will be the hardest spot to fill over the past couple of years. I feel that it will be by "commitee" up the middle with quick DE's like S. Ritchie-Jr., and Claybaker-Sr.
DB's - Way too may names to list here. Quite a few Jr.s that have the talent to do the job along with returning Sr.s that will be hungry for the jobs.

I see where you are coming from when you say the OL could be Jackson-like in the sense of being built to be able to ground and pound in a running game. I am sure coach Ebright has a good idea of how to get these guys ready. Overall I don't really know what to expect from this team at this point but I am sure they will be fun to watch them grow as a team this season. Especially if they learn real quick that they don't have to try and be the 2010 team or last year's team.
I agree. These guys have to find their own identity and go with it. I do see how you compare them to Jackson. It is the keg look, as wide as they are tall. This should be a fun team to watch

Of course this is only my view of things to come.
I appreciate the views. Some of these kids I don't really know and it is good to hear about them from someone who has seen them. Keep up the "views"
I honestly think that there is not one "super star" that will shine any brighter than anyone else on this team. They will be a close group of kids playing the game as a team and not sitting around waiting on anyone player to make the big play to win the game. I also feel that they will be in every game they play from the kick off till the final buzzer. They have a winning attitude that they have gained from 2010 and 2011. Yes, winning is an attitude. Not always does the most talented team win. I am ready for the season to start.....Go Eagles!
