I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised. We will look different this year. No Miller, but we have JoJo. I think you will see us take to the air. Yes, I said take to the air. I know the kids are working hard. They will be fine. I don't think there will be a very strong Federal League this year. Watch out for Mckinley because of all their young talent. Only time will tell!!
Coaching, Coaching, Coaching.....You had a great baseball coach for a zillion years and he was great, but....first year coach brings in first District Title in Perry HS history!
Perry fans I've been saying it for years,Coach Bo is a great BS to the higher ups to get jobs but X & O 's he is not that good. You will never win with him as your head coach. He needs DIV 1 talent to win, the reason he changed his O and D is he has no Clue. Good Luck

If there's talent that many are touting in this thread that there is, you just might be eating your words several Friday nights into November.

Can I chime in on a few things? No, I haven't been to a Perry game in so long I can't remember; but I follow them as close as someone can from 650 miles away. I know names, I know stats..I know who broke what records and who made All-Fed for the past 30+ yrs. or so. I think those of us who wore the uniform..regardless of era..have a voice. I'm a former team captain as well if that gives me any more credibility.
I heard When Wake came in that he went through all the old game film and threw them all away except for a few that the Panthers' Den had stashed. That in itself (if true?...I really do not know 100%) says something really negative about the man. Never cared for true wing-T offense myself..but I never had to run it so my only take is that I don't know any D1 team to ever win a championship running it. Enough said.
The "get it Done". Slogans are slogans..they come and go..they grow old and stale. From the very first time I ever witnessed a Perry practice or game..the only chant that ended every team huddle was Panthers, Panthers, Panthers.
IMO...that says way more than "Get er done". That gimmicky phrase was stolen from Larry the Cable Guy for Pete's sake. Not exactly a role model I want my alma mater paraphrasing..but again//that's just me.
Freshman coaching? You mean my coach John (1st and 15) Tasseff does not make the list?..check, check, check, check....delay of game...lol....you should have heard our impressions of him.
From what I've seen and heard..I like this Caoch Bo. I will support him until something changes that opinion. I like his offense...now just get a Perry defense from the late 60's to 70's to go with it.
I can't believe all the passing records that have been broken. Records that stood for over 40 years most of them. The hardest thing about passing in Perry stadium is that the grass is usually cut higher than the rough at St. Andrews, and the crown on the field was so distinct that when throwing an out patern...by the time the wr got close to the sideline..he was three feet shorter and the ball path and trajectory vector had to be solved in Nate Van Weighs physics class. I digree.

Go Panthers in 2012!
The "GET IT DONE" phrase was put in place way before anyone knew about Larry The Cable guy...His phrase is GET 'ER DONE..I have heard enough of his phrase though...

Bo had t shirts made in 1987 that used the get it done slogan. Don't know what the big stink is over a slogan.

Hilliard Davidson won 1 maybe 2 state titles running the triple option and throwing the ball maybe a total of 5 times in both games. And as for all the passing records that were broken, great but I think the fans are more interested in winning the Federal league championship and getting into the playoffs and couldnt care less about some meaningless records.
Film was taken out of there left and right. Stuff from the 60's and 70's was in players homes and garages and everywhere. I had every single vcr vhs tape in my own garage of Perry games from1990-2003, for nearly 5 years. Miller told the Fathers club to take care of it, which they did, but I was asked to keep it after they ran out of room. I returned it to Perry just last year. THIS IS OUR FOOTBALL HISTORY. We should have it stored somewhere safe and clean and dry. Wake gave older film away. Some was thrown out but many are still out there. I belonged to The Panthers Den and never saw any film in their storage areas. It was in the dads posessions probably film of their own kids. Like I said on here before. No one ever expected Perry to pass and run and play "O" with such diversity in 2010. Miller was running nuts and we had some size and Magnacca caught a lot of long gainers. We had a lot of seniors playing. This past year all of those guys were gone and you have some key injuries with almost 18 players starting for the very first time. That in itself can be a problem when all of these guys are new at THE SAME TIME. Anytime you start that many new people it is going to be tough when things go bad. no excuses. Go Perry. Cody Minor was a very good QB and a pleasant surprise. He threw 2 passes in 2009, one was intercepted and the other was dropped so that was a huge turn around for him and the Panthers.
there are some ggod athletes in perry that can help the team but for some reason they wont come out. who are some of these players that need to be out???
I was told this by one of the dads. They are excited about one of them for sure. I wouldn't want to name them just because one of them is still undecided, one is out of state, and the other is now working out with the Panthers weight program.
How is the fund raising going for the new turf? Any total yet on how much has been raised? I know the BOE hired someone last year to head up the athletic fund raising dept. I personally like grass field's but I can understand why more schools are going to turf.
I just talked to a guy at the service station today. He is ON that committee. He said they are moving along and have a goal and some big support. It will probably be next year. Also some type of new gym because of the moving up of the Freshmen. We may get some big time corporate response and then it will go rather quickly. Just the blue collar guys trying to keep pace.
I was hearing a new scoreboard with video and sound system for this season. Anyone hear any news on that? I thought they had a corporate sponsor for it.
Can you have a fundraiser to re-route the train tracks, come to think of it the train is cool as hell keep it. Get rid of the grass field.
firewatch, the train has good karma for the Panthers. Almost every time a train passes something good happens for Perry. It's almost Twilight Zone stuff.

I think we would benefit more by Perry "lighting up" the existing scoreboard with more scores under PERRY.
Perry does not need more bells and whistles...heck we have the train tracks and trains to take of the bells and whistles!!!!....what Perry needs is to start playing winning, competitive football
I totally agree Bumpy, but when someone offers to pay for a nice upgrade at little or no expense to the school system, you don't look a gift horse in the mouth either.
