Coventry has a tough two games with Mogador this saturday at home , it will be good to see how good they are after there 2-0 start so far . Also Crestwood off to a 3-0 start with a tough win over the Gmen, haven't heard to much about Springfield yet should be the league leader this year , Looks like Craig is going to play for Field that will make them better, Ravenna not there sport, Norton doesn't have enough pitching 1-1 so far ,Kent will be good they are to big of a school not to be 2-0 so far, Streetsboro don't know enough about i think they are 1-1 . Lets get some good weather so all the games can be played.

Week one in PTC

GAMES 4/2 and 4/3:

Springfield and Streetsboro. Look for Springfield to rudely welcome Streetsboro to the Metro side. Springfield batters should be able to pad their offensive stats in this one. Springfield 12 to 0 (in 5 innings), Springfield 21 to 5
Ravenna and Norton. Look for this one to be all Norton. Norton 9 to 2, Norton 13 to 1.
Crestwood and Coventry. Both teams off to a good start. Look for a good series, could go either way in both games. Crestwood 6 to 4, Crestwood 8 to 2
Field and Kent. This series could set the tone for both teams in league play this year. Field gets Kelsey Craig cleared to play. Makes their pitching better and another stick in their batting line up. Look for Field to keep pace with Springfield after week 1. Kent 5 to 4, Field 2 to 0

GAMES 4/10 and 4/11:

Springfield vs. Norton --- Springfield 6 to 4, Springfield 6 to 4 in second game
Crestwood vs. Field --- Field 7 to 9, Field 9 to 2
Kent vs. Coventry --- Kent 11 to 0 (in 5), Kent 15 to 9.
Streetsboro vs. Ravenna, Ravenna 15 to 11, still need to play second game.

GAMES 4/17 and 4/18:

Springfield vs. Field (This will be the series to watch) Springfield 7 to 5! Springfield 3 to 2
Crestwood vs. Ravenna (Crestwood bounces back after loses to Field) Crestwood 11 to 1, Crestwood 10 zip
Streetsboro vs. Kent (Kent should take care of business here) Kent 10 to 2, Kent 20 to 3
Coventry vs. Norton (Vettman will get to see who the better team is here) Coventry 4 to 3, Norton 5 to 4

GAMES 4/22 and 4/23:

Springfield vs. Crestwood (can Crestwood sneak one out?) Springfield 10 to 0, Springfield 4 to 3
Field vs. Norton (Field should bounce back after two tough games with Springfield) Field 6 to 1, Field 9 to 2
Ravenna vs. Kent (Kent needs to and should take these) Kent 7 to 0, Kent 9 to 6
Coventry vs. Streetsboro (Coventry will take care of business in this one) Coventry 13 to 4, Coventry 17 to 6

GAMES 4/30 and 5/1:

Springfield vs. Kent (Looks like these games mean something for both teams) Springfield 3 to1, Springfield 3 to 2.
Field vs. Streetsboro (Should be all Field) Field 12 to 0 (5 innings), Field 13 to 0 (5 inn.)
Crestwood vs. Norton (See how Crestwood rebounds after last weeks games with Springfield) Norton 15 to 3 (in 5 innings), Norton 6 to 1.
Coventry vs. Ravenna (Should be a close contest) Coventry 6 to 5, Coventry 4 to 3. Two close games, I did say, "should be a close contest". And Vettman doubted me.

GAMES 5/7 and 5/8:

Springfield vs. Coventry (Vettman might see a 10 run spread this week) Springfield 16 zip, Springfield 9 zip.
Field vs. Ravenna (Field will continue winning this week)
Kent vs. Crestwood (Can Kent get back to winning after last week) Kent 5 to 4, Crestwood 14 to 3
Norton vs. Streetsboro (Norton in a couple of 5 inning games) Norton 10 zip,

GAMES 5/14 and 5/15:

Springfield vs. Ravenna, Springfield 10 zip
Field vs. Coventry, Field 3 to 2, Field 16 to 3
Kent vs. Norton, Kent 6 to 3, Norton 11 to 1 (6 inning)
Crestwood vs. Streetsboro, Crestwood 16 to 5, Crestwood 12 to 6

Springfield will most definitly hand Streetsboro a beat down very surprised Springfield lost both to Lake.

Norton will take care of Ravenna also ,how about the young freshman shortstop for Norton, Myers has two home runs so far in the young season.

Although Crestwood is 3-0 haven't hit the ball as much as the Comets , both teams haven't really seen good pitching yet but the Comets have scored 40 runs in first 4 games, don't see the Red devils pitching being that much better if the Comets keep it up should take mon and tue games.

Field will walk away with both games, with the addition of Craig made the Falcons contenders with the Spartans ,hope they get all the games in.

Looking at the Crestwood Coventry games as the best ones the first week of the league season. I think Crestwood has had talent but were way under coached by previous coach.

Coventry 2
The Red Devils pitcher pitched very well it was 2 to 1 Crestwood top of 5 than Crestwood came to live and the Comets couldn't answer back.

Actually 8-2 and C-Wood Hit ball hard today. Defense was great which has been all year. Excited to play Field next week and see what we have.

Crestwood alway's had the talent to win just needed a coach to put the best kids on the field and let them play.

Here you go

Springfield
Field
Kent
Crestwood
Norton

Crestwood has a shot at jumping in top 3 if pitching holds up. Not overpowering but she is doing enough to win.

Don't see Norton being better than Coventry , yes they lost twice to Crestwood but the first game the Comets beat themselves, If you haven't seen Crestwood play yet they should give Springfield a very good game good all around team if there pitcher keeps it up should contend.

Springfield
Field
Crestwood
Kent
Coventry
Norton
Streetsboro

Wait...

Coventry didn't lose both games to Crestwood.. They won 7-2 yesterday. They are 1-1 in the league and 2-2 overall.

The Comets are 4-2 overall and 0-2 in league , Also Highstrung the Comets had 6 errors which gave the Red Devils 4 runs the score probably would have been 3-2 Comets.

Late game collapse

Watched some of Field Crestwood game. Crestwood collapsed in the 4th or 5th and gave Field a gift.
Tomorrows another day. Don't see the weather being much better.

Yep throwing error by SS and pitcher cost us 4 unearned runs, but big kudos to Fisher 3 run bomb. As I told our catcher and pitcher Do not throw her inside. Lost 9-7

Also heard Kent beat Coventry 12-0 Kent had 3 HR Stevens, Overholt and not sure of Girls name.

Comets 9

Kent 15
The Comets jumped out to a 4 run first at bat but as they took the field Kent scored 5 on 5 errors by the Comets, Kent never lost the lead but Coventry pulled within 1 at the top of the 5th but Kent answered again in the 6th to put the game away.

That's what you get when you start your #3 and don't take your opponent seriously.
Kent coach woulda been kicking herself if she lost the game.
That is certainly no way to compete for a league championship.
Heard Kent also had one of her starters ejected for not taking an
earring out.
My policy would be, you don't get on the bus or step through the fence onto the field with an any jewelry on. That goes for practice also.
Some lessons are hard one's to learn.

The Comets also scored 5 runs on there number 1 , You can't win with 5 errors in 1 inning , Kent can hit the ball better then any team seen or played against so far.

vettman.. as I said in my post, when you don't take your opponent seriously and you don't warm up or physically and mentally prepare properly, then you deserve to loose.
I know who Kent's #1 is and she needs 40 minutes to properly warm up to be effective. Word is, she didn't warm up anywhere near close to that.
I would hope that Kent would have learned a lesson tonight (on many levels), if they didn't, then it's their loss.

Yes the number 1 is a good pitcher plus Kent can just hit , but my point was the Comets had 5 costly errors that if they don't make they were ahead in this game and even when there no 1 came in the Comets still hit her, also different umps different strike zone , wether the coaches didn't take the game serious or the players the Comets played well enough to win just like in Crestwood were they gave up to many errors in that game also . Good luck to the Red Riders.

I looked at the box score today. Intersting how generous teams are when putting stats in for their players. They had one of the Field players in with 2 HR's. First one was a single with a 3 base error on the centerfielder for Crestwood. Drives me crazy!

Agree the one was a routine single on the ground that CF whiffed on and then didnt go after.

Norton 3

Comets 4

Nail bitter, The Comets were up 3-0 in the top of 6th but a 3 run home run by Norton tied it up till the Comets get a triple than score on a passed ball in the bottom of 6th great game.
