Maybe not during the regular season but they play the tougher teams when they win State or make a deep run.
Not really. Maine South, Wheaton-Warrenville, South Downers Grove, and Mount Carmel are almost never in the same classification, and when they have been, and have faced East St. Louis they've blasted them. Wheaton beat East St. Louis 26-0 in 07. Last year Maine South and Mount Carmel were in 8A while East St. Louis was in 7A.
That's what happens when you have 8 classifications for about 530 teams. The system doesn't do a whole lot when it comes to figuring out the best team in the state.
I'd much rather drive to Cincy for the Ohio Region 4 championship game than drive to Champaign for the Illinois state championship games.
To answer the question, will ESL come callin on the Buckeye State again? I would say maybe, but not in SWO or should I say REGION 4. I am sure that Elder would play them as would the MIDDIES. I bet they hate some purple now.
They'll end up playing St. Ed's and get smacked just like they did vs. the cincinnati teams.
If they go to columbus, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stick to Davidson or Coffman and don't go scheduling another suburban school on a down year like Herbie did to STA vs. Upper Arlington.

UA was an embarassment. People down here think they were a top team.
Yes...they beat O'Fallon 27-14. They travel to Wheaton-Warrenville South this week. W-WS beat them 26-0 in the semis in 2007 so this will be a big test.

STA is nothing but a small college, much the same as Oak Hill Academy in hoops. Accepting mutiple transfers for Junior and Senior seasons is a joke and you know it.
