1111's do you think we could make any money on it? Might be a good fund raiser for the park! You know Allstars is coming up soon and we need to get new uniforms.
I've just been following on here and been entertained. As long as everything stays civil, I'm just sitting back and watching.
Is this what you guys at WSLL call the hot stove league?
I have been trading posts trying to defend LL vs travel ball on another thread and then I read this - Man oh Man - half-truths, inuendo, accusations, and now cage matches and proxy fighters -- if I didn't know better I would think A-1 and his Heat cronies were involved with this and WSLL had merged with travel ball.
Is all of this stink because the Gods did not get voted in?!? Are you kidding me?
Hey please keep this god out of it. I admit I didn’t agree on how everything went down, but instead of calling people out on yappi. I called the new president, the new little league director, and few other board members to discuss some of my issues. That was over three weeks ago.
I’ve been involved with WSLL for over 16yrs now. I’ve been LL Director, Field Maintenance Dir, Scheduler, Minor League Dir, Draw Down Dir, you name it I’ve been it. I’ve seen more changes in the league than probably any of you combined. I’m a big boy. I’m sure I’ll survive this one. I have the up most respect for the league. Please, do the same for me and keep me out of it.
Thank you,
Coomer

IMH-this is what happens when the GCPRO leaves, all heck breaks out.
I really know nothing about this except what I read on here and as a parochial school in Hamilton don't see too many of these people out-n-about. Please don't compare us to the Heat, we have our warts but are better than that. I am planning on attending the next WSLL mothers auxiliary for sure
the 2010 board hadn't been voted on yet so yes it was last years directors responsibility beacause at that time there was not a new little league director. maybe if he would have done so he would still have a dog in the fight.
I refer you all back to my original post regarding the contacts I made. You can choose to not believe me if you like.
Truefacts; I'm not sure you know me to well. I made phone calls and did my part right up to the end, including to show up for the Fall Meeting. Nothing to hide, nothing to fear, nothing to be ashamed of. I had no intention of running for re-election and my son is now 13 and moving on to a different organization. My family and I have made many wonderful friends at WSLL over the past 9 years and for that I'am forever grateful. What a great experience. Good Luck to All.
Personally I hang at the coach pitch fields to make sure the young mothers are being cared for properly. I keep score but has nothing to do with runners crossing the plate.
Our coach pitch fight was over the use of an illegal bat and really it was at least 5 years ago but it was spirited.
im bringin my camera to both meeting I got to see this!!.... oh and by the way to all of you I am no longer a moderator for the baseball thread so I have no control over threads and have never been able to identify certain posters... that will always stay anonymous... have fun next season and Like My good friend Kenny Coomer said there have been plenty of changes in the league over the past 16 years both god and bad and guess what this league still prospers... and as far as volunteers go most volunteers are Coaches, Managers why would some one fill out a volunteer request just to vote and not volunteer their time to actually help the kids but to only vote!! makes no since to me!!
I looked at the WSLL web site to see who was elected to the board. Looks to me like you guys have the makings of a very good board that will do a lot of great things for the kids and perhaps even have a "big picture" perspective.
I also know the "gods" as they are called have put in many years of coaching and work at that ballpark. Countless players have improved their game, thanks to their work. They probably deserved a little more respect than they have received in this whole mess.
The only question I have is WHY is it always our first kneejerk reaction to question the motives of someone, or point out something they may have erred on in the past to discredit an argument? Why can't we look at a person's whole body of work? I know the "gods" invited my son to their practices when he was struggling after an injury. I will always be appreciate of that. GCPRO took my son on his Coach Pitch All-Star team (not the A team..we didn't really care at that point) and we had a blast! He hit his first two home runs on the final day..including a grand slam! The Fairfield coaches tried to say he didn't touch first base, and I thought GCPRO was going to come out of his skin! Probably the best memory over at WSLL! I will always be appreciative of the GCPRO for that, even though we have our moments. Oh, and YES IMHO...we did keep score, and so did your Fairfield bretheren. I will also be appreciative of Chris Combs for picking my kid for his teams. I will never forget High Heat comforting my kid when he made the last out in the district tournament in Oxford, telling him if it wern't for him, they wouldn't have been playing in the Sunday final in the first place. And of course, Josh and Chris and all the fun with the All-Star team & parents. Those little acts of kindness meant a LOT to my son and this family! So I guess the rambling point I was trying to make is this....WSLL is full of good people who sometimes disagree on the way to do things. Conflict is a given in any organization. It's how you handle that conflict that matters.
Again....I think this is a good board with a lot of good people who will do the right things. Change is never easy. If you ask me, go back to two charters and start up the districtwide supertournament.

Fairfield brethren????????? What is that all about?????? Bite your tongue Bluefan.
high heat-i am not sure what you think i said about you, i am only stating what i know. i did not mean anything directly towards anyone and if i made you feel that way i apologize. i simply stated that i know for a fact that the coach pitch director contacted his managers and i didnt know about anyone else. i am not hear to check up on people nor put blame towards anyone. i dont feel anyone is to blame for anything. there was a meeting, people voted and it is what it is. i was simply trying to answer questions to the best of my ability and obviously that wasnt good enough for some people. i have been involved with wsll for many years and have always been involved as best as i could be and intend to continue. i think people need to remember that this is just a chat site and if something is bothering them that much then they should question the board not bicker through this chat. i dont think there is anything wrong with stating opinions and talking about it but it seems to be more than that. this to me has gotten way out of hand and i do not want to feed into all this madness. i simply stated what i knew hoping to answer some questions being asked. i feel that the board will do as best they can as they always have in the past and i am here to support them as well as all the coaches and managers. west side is a great place that my family enjoys from year to year and i want to see that continue. i too have made great friends there and hope to meet new ones in the future. good luck to all the board members, managers, coaches and kids in the upcoming year!

Sorry Bub, but you clearly implied I didn't do my job when I know I did, just clearing the airwaves. What part of "if he had maybe he would still have a dog in the fight" did I not understand? Thanks for the help but I'll speak for myself. Everyone has to work together top to bottom and showing respect is a two way street. You have to give some to get some. That's a True Fact.

I got one thing to say tonight, God bless America, God bless Hamilton Ohio, and God bless WSLL, on the most beautiful day of the year the park was full of volunteers working giving their time to get the park closed down and ready to open back up next spring. The beauty of WSLL shined thru today, beyond all our disagreements and differences of opinions and ideas ALL had one thing in mind today - work together give of their time and efforts for the good of the league. Thanks to all who showed up today. WSLL is the best in the MidWest.
when i said "he" i was not referring to anyone specific, just repeating what the previous post said, who stated " last years director", not little league director, not minor league director and not coach pitch or tball, just director, so that could be any of them. i didnt think what they said was directed at one specific person, just someone asking if the previous directors (as in all of them) were responsible for getting the information out. maybe i assumed wrong. personally i would never say that about you, i appreciate what you have done and have respected you as well as the rest of them, but take it how you will.

Sorry for my lack of reading comprehension. That mention of LL Director threw me off. All's well, good luck to you and your son next season.
my bad man, i truly didnt mean to throw "little league" in there. i wouldn't insult you like that, i hate that you are leaving the board. sorry for the miscommunication. i hope everyone gets passed all this, i enjoy being over at wsll and wouldnt want any of that to change, good luck to you as well.
Please dont confuse me with the aforementioned holier-than-thous. I had a good time at WSLL and this has been more fun than anything i have witnessed short of Mike Benegar losing the presidency. Please proceed on, I love it.
I would assume that all fences have been mended, since all has been quite for over a week.
gcpro- did you make the slam meeting last night? Was it all you thought it would be? Did you teach those silly girls anything?
The GCPro didn't make it again, my apologies. Seem to forget about it when caught up in the middle of an NFL Sunday. Heck I was going there to learn something myself not teach anything to anyone. As you may or may not know, I scrape along the bottom of the barrel as far as WSLL goes. I see that the Grand Poobah attends, my man loves him some women.
